    I just cleaned up and tested a Xbox I got locally. It's from 2001, has a HDD or optical drive from 05 can't remember rn. Anyways I want to soft/hardmod it. But firstly.backup everything sort of a big project but can't wait. Was wondering your thoughts and input on a route to take. Personally I like unleashX dashboard. Just don't want anything to go wrong
    .I also want to dev a Java program to make things easier and better UI. Lmk. Discord???

      I'm not here to tell people how to do things, but if you're doing a softmod, Cerbios BFM is recommended since you can get bigger harddrive support and use images such as .iso and .cci.
      www.xbox-scene.info/forums/topic/420-dl-ogxbox-cerbios-bfm-usb-softmod-installer-1fichier-mega/
      If you're looking for a 'chip' solution, same Cerbios, but check out Modxo on the Pico Pi.

      Dashboard all comes down to personal preference.

      @@johnl6234 Did you get the .uf2 written to the Pico? If so, it should be as easy as choosing the com port and reading. Make sure you don't have your wires backwards. It shouldn't cause any harm to your board, but it will cause it not to read. Sorry for taking soo long to respond. I read it and forgot about it.

    Hi, I tried your method (with a pico) and I got the eeprom. I shut the console down and removed the wires, then I did it again to make sure it read the eeprom correctly but when I tried to do it again the console Fragged and now it just FRAGS (turns on, shuts off, turns on, shuts off, blinking red light) but if I connect the wire from my pico to ground on the port it sparks is that normal?

    • @androxilogin
      @androxilogin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It will often frag if you have the wires in the wrong place. You didn't write to the eeprom, did you? If so, just write the original back.

    • @alexonminecraft-pd5bt
      @alexonminecraft-pd5bt 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for writing back, no I didn't write it. It frags even without the wires connected, can i still write/read the eeprom if it frags? Because it just says it can't find it and check connections.
      Have I broken something on the mainboard?

    • @androxilogin
      @androxilogin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alexonminecraft-pd5bt You should be able to write to it after it reaches the end of fragging. You should check your eeprom with LiveInfo. If all else fails and your eeprom is corrupt (and your harddrive isn't locked to that eeprom), you can download XEMU and have it generate a new eeprom (it does this on first boot if you don't supply one) and write that one on.

      @@androxilogin Hi and thank you for your help, I was wrong it doesn't Frag, it flashes red and orange (and reboots twice), which from what I've read is a ram issue, so i probably accidentally shorted two pins.

      @@alexonminecraft-pd5bt If not that, check location U6F1; the ADM1032 temp sensor seems to be malfunctioning or dead. The electrolytic undoubtedly reached it and caused a short or the corrosion is still there causing the same effect. I would let some white vinegar sit on the pins, then scrub it away with a toothbrush followed by cleaning it up with alcohol and reflowing the pins, if not replacing it.

    im back baybeee, got me a raspberry pi pico now... but im having troubles again even with this, im seeing people say it won't work because its 3.3v -- going to try it a 2nd time but plugging it into the pc the LED didn't light up, but i did get a random txt file to pop open showing me it's version. But arduinoprom won't read it, and the sudo codes are for linux. -- im getting so confused and frustrated i took my raspberry pi 4 model b out of it's canakit case and found the pin outs for it, and should just be able to use the tutorial through that. Weird to think that little pi 4 is a whole computer with video output and power in. (still wanna figure it out with this pico pi though!!) ❤ going to rewatch your video 1000 times.

      Is this your first time messing with a raspberry pi pico? I'm confused; what is 3.3v? The Pico is 5v. As soon as you plug in the pico while holding the button, it should pop up as an empty storage device. You can drag and drop the .uf2 and it will program automatically. Not sure what you mean with the txt file. The Pico .uf2 can be found in the PicoProm Toolset in the description (open it; hit 5 then 5 again and it will copy to the desktop automatically). Good luck! I haven't tried it with a regular Pi since it's overkill for a project such as this.

Can you link or tell me how to put an original xbox OS on the hard drive when setting it up on the computer? do i go to the A drive and put files there? i have apps folder / skins folder / system folder / plash and xboxdash.xbe i think is at least xbmc4gamers but i don't think i put it on the F partition that is 2.72tb. Also when doing a fresh install through fatxplorer, is it not installing an OS onto the hdd so you can boot from...? you have to do that later somehow? just burned a cd but i think the system has to be soft modded first before itll read a burned cd. sorry for your time hope to understand it

    Keep getting an error 07, hear the disk spin up then stop after making a few ticking noises, then that error. I want to switch out the HDD with a new one, im certain that the hdd is basically dead. But i can't turn it on past getting that error. Isn't there a way to have the xbox boot from a burned cd before it gets to that error screen about the HDD and get the HDD key from there? Just wanna save this xbox, switched it out with a differen't xbox HDD and it gave me an error 06, it read the HDD quick and gave me the error quickly. Now im here thinking maybe i can add a mod chip to the system and read it on the computer. So dumb how they locked it, now you can't add a different drive it this one dies. I could just plug this new 3tb HDD i got into my computer, then run fatxplorer and format it from on the desktop then put it in the xbox but that still wouldn't get my the hdd key. I have an already modded xbox with the eeprom back up and that HDD key, would i be able to use that system to pump out new HDD and just keep swaping them in and out of that xbox?

      @@DaftKermitThePunk It should work with the Pi 4 just fine but more work than one of these little microcontrollers. The eeprom and HDD key are specific to a single console. By the sounds of things, if it isn't clicking and clunking and depending on what you modded your console with, your master password may be TEAMASSEMBLY. With that, you could unlock your old harddrive in FATXplorer and hopefully recover your eeprom. Then put that through LiveInfo to find your HDD key and relock it appropriately after fixing whatever is wrong with your files (if anything).
      BUT if you're getting error 08 consistently now, try a different IDE ribbon. This could be your whole issue.
