Thank you for this easy to follow simple tutorial. I don't know why but I've been finding it hard to get an order to which I paint. I was using shades on parts before I'd properly based other parts. This was just a eureka video for me. I was like ohhhh it all makes sense now to my simple brain. Much love.
i love the way the gold looks, so awesome, gonna follow it for mine aswell. But i feel like he could use a darker blue, looks kinda thousand son alike with this bright blue. thanks for the tutorial!
Late comment but great informative video, easy to follow and really chilled out. Just purchased my first airbrush and gulliman so can't wait to follow this. Keep it up mate 👍
This is really, really nice, I like it. I thought for mine I would follow your gold technique and use midnight blue/ black (polished?) for the main armour and a pure blood-red for the helmet.
Great model and you did a great job on it. I've been wanting this model for a while but held of because of the amount of trim on his power suit. My hands shake too much some days.
I remember going to a GW store and they allowed you to get a free model and paint them. I thought it was gonna be easy but holy crap I was beyond wrong
Ik I'm late but an interesting tip I learned from whtv. Is you spray him with a coat of retributor armor and work from there it eliminates the detailing process of having to color every gold bit. You just might have to use 2 coats of macragge/ultramarine blue.
I dont know if you will reply to this, but, what airbrush do you use? I got one and it wouldn't work with army paint because the paint was to thick and I didn't wanna use paint thinner for such a small amount of paint.
I have been using the same arbrush for couple years now, I got it off of amazon it was only about $25 called Ganzton came with a hoze and couple needles, it is a gravity fed dual action and i use a .3mm nozzle and needle and use it around 35-25 psi depending on paint and surface area, and for thinning my paints i use a bottle i premix of 50/50 water and alcohol.
I was actually thinking of getting into painting this stuff. I'm assuming you're stopping to let the paint dry on the mini each time you go to change a color?
Awesome! And mainly the only time i need to stop and dry is after a wash, otherwise dry brush and airbrush are already pretty dry when applied unless i want it watery so it isn't opaque and basing a color with a brush depends on the color most lighter colors dry seconds after applied also i use a solution alcohol/water 50:50 mix and that helps it dry fast, and mixing it will dilute allowing a smooth coverage. The cuts after i show color to camera are basically my camera marks makes it easier to edit and show which step im on. Hope that helps! Thank you!
@@VertiseeModels Ah yeah I heard people water down their paints when doing these minis. I was just wondering if you let the colors dry between each application since it looked like your splotches on the blackboard(or whatever it's called) seemed to go from wet globs to dry after each cut/edit.
I found your videos as I was looking for Ahriman tutorial. I gotta say I'm deeply impressed and amazed at your skills!! I just got into airbrushing and your videos encourage me a lot to push forward from simple priming and basecoating! Quick questions though. Do you cover the whole miniature with your base color after zenithal priming? Any tip on airbrushing to make sure the zenithal primes remain visible??
it depends on what im painting and what type of style and feel im going for with the scheme, some times on a neater, cleaner scheme i will base the whole miniatures, or if i am wanting it weathered i might just fade my colors over primer using the under tone to my advantage, and create a fade or make it have more of a contrast on the airbrushed colors.
So much gold. Did you consider priming him gold then doing the blue bits? I would have been bored with all that trim!! Amazing job though. He's a busy looking model bit you did a fab job. A fellow left hander, but you hold the brush funny 😆
Hey thank you, yea its what works for me lol i have a weird double jointed thumbs and just dont get the same control as my pointer finger, and no i didn't want to prime him gold, i wanted to be sure to get a sick fade on his armor with the white undercoat, and i think it would be harder to fill in color with a fade avoiding trim, rather than just pain staking tracing trim on top haha.
Are you thinning the paints it doesn't look like it. And the stamps are purity seals and the 'horse shoe' is the omega symbol. I know this was two years ago but you could have done better. It's definitely not bad
I honestly can't believe the look you achieved on your gold. *chef's kiss*
Fellow left handed here also...I hold my brush the same, thought it was just me. This really helped, thanks and awesome job!
thank you! and same haha i see lots use their thumbs and i just cant do it that way lol.
Four minutes in and it already looks SICK.

Amazing job. I love it.
Thank you!
Damn, you make it so easy
i'm about to get a 3d printer and this is going to be the first model i print. And awesome model!
Absolutely incredible :)
Thank you!
I must say my man roboute guilliman be looking fly as fuck rn

Thank you so much!
Stamps? Horse shoe?? That is some serious heresy right there, brother..
superb
Dude! Your model looks freakin awesome! Would love to see how you based it....
i was worried about my shaky hands for painting but now im less so seeing you holding the model shakily. looking to get into this hobby soon.

Amazing work buddy, cool chanel. Weird brush style though reversing it, what do you find to be the benefit?
Many pro painters reverse as you get better accuracy on detailed sections. Try it and you should find your hand is much steadier
Hi, can I ask about thinning Army Painter? What thinner are you using? And what is the ratio? Sick model, sick paint man!

Looks sick! Inspired to try it myself, thank you. What genre of music is that?
Thank God I own all of those paints lol.
yes i tried to keep it with one brand.
Soooo Good 😬
10/10 music... like DAMNNN !

I did that and I had to strip it. Turns out painting the blue sections is harder than doing all the trimming, at least for me.
I’m so jealous rn
He do be looking like that though
I was SO sick of painting gold after doing that trim.
haha, yea takes a minute
Next time, paint an army of rubric marines
Just wanted to point out those aren't horseshoe emblems. Those are the omega symbol.
Great painting mate but that fu**in music started driving me insane :P
haha, Thanks!
Is this man wielding a fucking heavy bolter on his left arm!?
I feel like it would be worth it to just buy a cheap airbrush to paint this, it is a $60 model so you don’t want to be messing it up
