- In this video I restore an old table. This table is made of oak and pine. This table is over 50 years old. During the restoration of the table, I will show you some techniques in woodworking. How to get rid of holes from old rusty nails and how to straighten bent wood. And we will also replace the old drawers that I will make from beech. I will show you how to connect the drawers. Thanks for watching.

Amazing. The craftsmanship is stellar. Yellow? Not a great finale.
Wasn't sure where the color was going with the paint or stain cause it looked so yellow but that's a mighty fine table sir.
In my own opinion, a more brown stain would have looked much better than the yellow stain, but that's personal preference. Otherwise, great job!
Your sanding "lathe" is ingenious!! Beautiful piece!
Thanks for watching.
The only thing I prefer about the original table is the stain colour. The new yellow stain broke my heart a little bit 😢
Your skill is amazing, great job!
Thanks for watching.
Heart of glass
@@WDRestorationThis color is a relieving break from the way-too-often used, shoe-polish blackish brown, staining. Thanks for diverging from the well-traveled path and giving us this refreshing look!
Was of the same mind to begin with. But then I thought colour is often governed by ethnic taste and he is in the Ukraine and if he is onselling, he knows his market. It actually grew on me the more I looked at it. Nicely done job.
I, too, thought that the colour was a bit strange when I first saw it; but It will probably mellow with age and as it is polished.
Now Here is “A Gem in the Rough” Restored back to where it should be! Well Done Sir!
Thanks for watching.
I have to smile. Admittedly this table top is bowed. But the family kitchen table I ate off at my gt.grandmothers home was worn totally smooth but had so many hollows in it. There was no rot but she put a large folded undercloth on covered by a general cloth when not eating. A white starched damask for proper meals. Everything taken off after mealtimes and bowls, flour, utensils and heavy jars when cooking. It held everything from apples, plums pears from Orchard or huge roasts for family after war. Goodness knows what this man would have done with it. I don't remember anything being straight in her home, but it was a few hundred years old.
Pennsylvania USA says thank you. You made my day purposeful. If one can fix this table, slowly one can transform many things. Perhaps one's life.
Georgious work. I was a bit hesitant about the choice of stain at first, but then the final reveal showed how beautiful it was.
Thanks for watching.
I wouldn't have chosen those colors, but the workmanship is excellent!
Thanks for watching.
This episode should have been called 'WD Restoration; Extreme Nail Removal' I haven't seen anybody restore a handmade piece that didn't have a lot of nails. Very nicely done!
Thanks for watching )).
Lots of expansive tools will prevent many from for doing such things themselves but very pleasant to see and gorgeous result. Thank you.
Thanks for watching.
Beautiful renovation. Beautiful guitar rendition of Oh Holy Night.🎉😊
Thanks for watching.
It is a beautiful cover of "Oh Holy Night" but it flashes with the wonderful sounds from the work you are doing.
The world needs more people like you.
This isn’t a restoration so much as an improvement. Nice job!
Fantastic work. The joinery in the drawers were impressive. 👌🏻👌🏻
I’ve seen that color in a baby diaper……
You added many, many decades of life to it. 👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks for watching.
Great job, perfect functioning of drawers, nice new color, congratulations!!!
It's more a refurbishment than a restoration. Perfectly well done and the "antique pine" effect will soften with age. Thanks for posting.
A pleasure to watch your craftsmanship and the only channel to keep your information on screen long enough to be able to read with ease.
Thank you
Beautiful job and this table will give another 100 years of service.
What a beautiful job! Amazed at the attention to detail, and the work you put into this table. It must’ve taken many many days. The final color is close to the table. I have in my kitchen right now. Love it. Thank you for sharing.
The drawer corner joints are great, and the way you fixed the front bow with the relief cut and epoxy 👍👍👍
Here's a tip for you...when using polyurethane glue it dries faster in the presence of moisture. What to do is wet one side of the joint with a damp cloth and glue the other side. It bonds very quick. I loved your restoration.
Thanks for viewing and advice.
Another tip, when pulling nails from a moulding, do it from the back, that way you don’t blow out the front.
😊obrigada
😅
Boa noite,Adoro qdo veja a restauração de móveis antigos, eles contam histórias dos nossos antepassados.
I really liked your technique with applying wood glue and then sanding right after. Its perfect for getting the wood dust to fill in the gaps and to remove the excess. Quick and effective
Yes the wet sanding is a great tip rather than the usual how-to of mixing sawdust and glue
I love this video! I have to do the same work on a very old table! Thanks so much!!!
You rebuilt the drawers and had a chance to make them a little bigger/longer. I'm a little sad you didn't. Storage is priceless.
I really like the finished look and you're craftsmanship 🎉
wow. Der Tisch ist sehr schön geworden.
GREAT JOB
These videos are so much more entertaining than horror movies and video games. any bad movie filled with cursing and other bad stuff.
Really enjoyed watching this video, great restoration, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching.
Wow this wasn’t a ‘found this by the road side a bit of sanding and paint’ this is truly a roots and branch deconstruction/ reconstruction- impressive
It came out very well, and is probably better than new.
Which raises a philosophical question. Even at its best, this was a cheap table originally. Mostly pine, machine made legs, nailed together with little in the way of joinery. You could have duplicated the table with all new everything faster and cheaper, likely with the same results. Unless it was in some way emotionally significant, I don't know that I would have undertaken a restoration.
Agree, this is 20th century production work and probably not worth the effort invested. I admire the demonstrated techniques however. I also think I would have tried to maintain a bit more of the patina if the table was a much-loved old family retainer.
What a beautiful, well made table! The end result is gorgeous.
Thanks for watching.
Well I'm impressed with your work beautiful carpentry
Great job! I especially liked the technique of growing a third arm and hand to do the leg lathing! 🤣Beautiful work too!
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching.
Wow, you are a fantastic carpenter and watching this vídeo made me travel back in time to my childhood and reminded me of my late grandpa and my uncle building and restoring things in their workshop. That's when my love for wood and furniture restoration started.
This yellow table certainly fits very well in an entrance hall, or in a nice farm house kitchen! Great piece of wood design!
Beautiful table. "O Holy Night" playing in background.
Excellent work and no nails… my feeling is that final color could be more natural wood!
Looking forward to the next one!
From Japan
Just Beautiful.. I have a desk to redo from the 1800s. Can't wait to do it.
All the colors on this planet, and beyond...you chose ocre. I love it.🎉
What a wonderful example of hard work pays off. Love it!
Thanks for watching.
This video has just about a solution for every problem. Thanks!
Wonderful work, very relaxing to watch your process to the end result ! Thy !
Loved watching you do a restoration... such a difference to your creation videos... love them both 😊❤
Wow! Incredible work.
Parabéns, Ótima recuperação da mesa. Ficou Linda.
Good job, but that paint.... it reminds me of soviet era paint. it was everywhere
Lovely music in the background....
You have Incredible Patience and the Skills to match.
Thanks for watching.
Beautiful work. A pair of Trickers country boots in acorn color would go perfectly with the restored table.
I was a little shocked to see how aggressive the disassembly was. Granite I know some of these pieces will be fixed but some situations I feel like there is more damage than needed, especially with the bamboo shaped pieces as there was unneeded tear out from the nails.
Pull nails thru backside avoiding tearout
Butchered.
Just beautiful restoration. ❤
As a showcase for your remarkable skills, this video is really enjoyable. The finished product is a little over-restored for me, but that’s just a matter of taste. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great job, ready for at least the next fifty years! Enjoyable music too!
A wonderful restoration! Thank you for the video!
A well done job on this table. Love it! 😊
Thanks for watching.
WOW!!!!!Lots of detail in that piece. Wish I had that kind of patience..
You are a magician with a table saw. That's the one thing I don't have.
It’s the first video of yours that I have watched and am so blown away by the craftsmanship and your amazing shop and tools! The table turned out amazing!
Thanks for watching.
Profissional brilhante! Ficou linda! Parabéns 🤩
Beautiful job ! I love the color 😊
Wow! You weren't playing. You took that ALL the way down. LOVELY transformation. (I hope you wear ear plugs with all that loud power equipment. I almost reached for mine! 😂)
What a cracking transformation you made of that exquisite table. I loved the way you tackled those warps. My personal choice of couler would have been different but that's just me. You big guy are very skilled, both in mind & with your eyes & hands.👏👏👏👏👏👏
Of course that should have read colour🙄🙄woops.
AMAZING JOB
What a beautiful job!❤
Beautiful ❤
Phenomenal job!! That drawer joinery was fabulous!

Загалом A+.
La experiencia, lo es todo... bello trabajo.
Lovely work. Your knowledge certainly moved you to choose rightly about what needed replaced and what was salvageable. I hope the recipient appreciated your talent.
Beautiful restoration and you did a wonderful job restoring it!!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thanks for watching.
@@WDRestoration You're welcome!!
safetey first, great job Cam nobody's cares what others think .😅
Beautiful restore😊
Beautiful work - a really slick gluing technique that I admired very much - congratulations. Though I wasn't looking out for this, I noticed 4 different glues in use, and particularly liked the epoxy gap-filling after straightening the side-piece. Bravo!
I also noticed that, even though the table had some nice decorative and structural touches not found in today's minimalist world, it was nevertheless - with a thin top and nails everywhere including through the top - a very humble and modest one. I think your skills and workshop tools deserve a higher quality item to work on.
Thank you! Awesome work
Thanks for watching.
Great to see excelent workmanship. Very entertaining also. Yet I woud much prefer the table wilth it's old patina. Just a light refurbishment needed. It looks new now. Why not build a new one instead?
Wowowow. I also wasn't sure about the color, until you showed the finished product. But I would have never known that shade till now.
I am very grateful for your very instructive and detailed video, I would love to learn about furniture restoration. And your video is an excellent and timely start.
Man, you work fast!
You did an amazing restoration! I see some that try, but nothing to this level! Beautiful!!
Well done! If I could make a late suggestion.....I would have done the top color a bit darker but along the same color family. Also, put some sort of profile contour on the X brace edges on the bottom. Looks a little distracting in the over all picture. But it's your project and you have to feel ok with what it turned out to be. Was this piece for you or a customer?
Thank you for viewing. This is the grandmother's table.
This is just an amazing work of art! Very professional and enjoyed watching it!
Excelente trabalho. Ficou maravilhosa.
Sir I love Your Wonderful Techniques😍❤👍👍👍Beautiful Work😍❤
Love the background music. So relaxing 😊
I wish you were local I have a 150 yr old hutch I would like restored. Your work is exceptional. ❤
Hands down excellent job. Very satisfying to watch. You have great talent!
Edit;
The color at the end wouldn’t have been my first pick but certainly still looked very nice. I definitely would have bought that table if I saw it for sale. Great job again!
i agree very dated
You did a fantastic job, but I hate the colour. Never watched you before, but I'm hooked now. Thank for sharing your skills. Take care 🙂
Thanks for watching.
