Nice techniques here, but it looks really uncomfortable ( for the back). I think I would prefer the armrest horizontal instead of sloping downward also. TU for the craftsmanship.

I fully could agree with you. But. You could always adjust the angle of the back rest by the hanger position. Armrests are not always functional. Sometimes they are decorative. As for me the backyard swing is used with cushions. I could guess that you were amazed with the technique which was used to create it😊
