Hope your dad is ok and will be back soon. One tip I can offer you and I hope you won’t be offended. WEAR gloves AND a full face visor. I had a couple of incidents when a cutting disc exploded and hit my full face visor. I dread to think what would have happened had I not been wearing it. You only get one set of eyes, look after them. I have also had a couple of close shaves when cutting/grinding. All the best and looking forward to next episode. Norman

Hi Mark, hope your dad is better soon, the garage bar has run dry! You may remember I asked you what you plans were for the cant rails a way back as I knew they were different but after watching the latest installment Ive ust realised that the B pilar was also a different length and is shorter than the MK3 on version, so many differences between shells that look so similar at first glance, keep up the good work

@@upbuild4397 Yes, very much so. I have just two shells and two cars. One is too far gone, the other also seems too far gone. The back of the cars just set the standard for cool for me. To think, it was a commuter car.
For me it is a supercar.

Thanks for showing in detail why the MK1 cant rails were so necessary. Now I think back I can remember my mum's MK1 had a much more 'domed' look to the headlining. But man that was an epic amount of work (and still not finished!), it just shows your determination to do the job right. I do hope your dad is back with you soon, we all miss him.

Looks good. Forward progress feels great on these kinds of projects. Im converting a 1962 Ford Falcon from a 4 door into a two door. Ive drilled out at least 500 spotwelds! But, its just lots of careful trial fitting of each part before you weld!

I used one of those for removing spot welds, mine is a Sykes-pikavant zipcut I loved it as just as I cut through the first layer of metal I'd get a little burst of rust dust so I didn't but through both layers. At 75 climbing in and out of mini bodies is no longer fun. I'm amazed at the detail you are putting into this project. great to watch thanks for sharing.
