This Crown is for people that like the practicality of the Prius but couldn’t stomach actually owning and driving one. Plus this feels like the nicer car.
If only Toyota hadn't redone the prius and made it actually attractive this cycle. I could actually see the crown being placed as a replacement for the avalon (or them experimenting with future ideas for the camry in a non camry model).
@myhandlewastakenandIgaveup Well, it is the Avalon's replacement. It's just that Crowns are all hybrids, just like they are doing with the Camry.
I wish Toyota was bringing over the Crown Sport instead of the Signia.

I'm definitely buying this car soon. I like the fact that it's all wheel drive, and a decent battery range. It's much better than a lot of non suv hybrids.

This would be an undeniable winner if it had a V6 and a liftback. As for the Lexus with a Toyota badge comment, I would say that the current Lexus lineup isn’t as interesting as the Crown. The interior design of the Crown is more conservative and sober than any Lexus save for the LC and the upcoming GX. The others are too overstyled or awkward, IMHO. The only thing Lexus has going for it is the V6 and V8, but it seems like Lexus is trying to get rid of those ASAP.

Due to sad history, my wife requires crush zones. The Prius has no crush zones. 40-ish MPG is wondrous versus the 12.5 of my '79 FJ-40 Land Cruiser. ;-)

How is the interior space compared to the Camry? I love the looks of the Crown, but it looks similar in size to the Camry and I don't understand why they'd sell both cars, especially with the all new Camry Hybrid coming out next year.
If you see the crown in person you'll actually be surprised how much bigger it is than the Camry.
@@yuelinxie5721 I’ve seen a couple on the road, but been able to get in one yet. I like bigger sedans and love the direction Toyota is going with the Crown.
@@yuelinxie5721 It's bigger than the camry but the interior space is not well used. For example the Accord has a lot more interior space than the Crown and they're the same size.

Got a 2020 rlx tech with 11k miles over this crown. Much more space inside as well. No regrets
Way less gas tho and only a 2020 , this is a 2024 lol

Ridiculous that this XLE doesn't come with a heated steering wheel.... Have to spend a few thousand more to get it! (higher trim level).
Toyota and Lexus need to get better front end designs. Really “over styled”. Imho.

Seems like an alright vehicle, but way overpriced. The MSRP in Canada is $52-$62K. (plus freight, taxes, ad-ons, etc). Would not buy.
