Tere Bin: OTT yet entertaining. That's how I'll sum up "Tere Bin". Alot of people wanted Yumna and Wahaj together in a serial after DNUTN and it happened, and it is serving really well.
We have a very headstrong Yumna as Meerab Anwar Khan, whose origin and relation to the Shahnawaz Clan is confusing but she is different and it shows. It was really good to see Yumna in such a heatstrong role, where she won't take sh*t from anyone at all.
Wahaj Ali is the only Pakistani actor I can think of who classifies as hot. He is made for the female gaze and in the drama, it is used to it's full potential. His voice modulation, the way he walks, styling and lethal gaze, all adds upto such a treat to be watched. Him as Saad and then is Murtasim is so different, you won't ever believe they are done by the same person.
If you want to watch two pretty people on screen to romance and enjoy a beautiful production, do give it a shot.
Unpopular Opinion : I really don't see any chemistry between Hania and Wahaj, but Yumna and Wahaj have electrifying chemistry.

Mujhe Pyaar hua tha: Extremely cringe romance, Areeb literally acts so creepy. Also no Amna I agree Areeb could be emotionally deprived but you just can't fall in "love" with a person at once like without zero conversation-conversation he just fell and was absolutely staring like a creep at her, also from the teasers it could be concluded that he is head over heels in love with Maheer like he isn't using her or something, so Zaviyar acting like this is legit making me so uncomfortable that stare the stalking the calls everything!

They did not discuss the drama at all and yet everyone is talking about it? 😬 I paused the video and watched the drama and I don't think it's my cup of tea. Geo ultimate inspiration is from Star Plus dramas because everything is grand and OTT and the acting was strictly ok, kinda cringe in some scenes as well. And the loud music, I just can't....!It's hard to pick whether MPHT is more cringe or Tere Bin? Maybe MPHT? When I am bored out of my mind I may watch Tere Bin but MPHT just pisses me off...Aamna and Hassan enjoyed tere bina kuch nahi, but I find it strictly ok...wehi same romantic story...done to death...

Agar: The six year lapse didn’t change the appearance of anyone , except Chandni’s. Is the little girl from school, Annie’s daughter? But then why would any woman hide that from her daughter? Good parents would live together as a family for the well-being of the child. The extended family, their parents become secondary. Hiding marriage with a child for six years does not make any sense. The more realistic explanation would be that Shawaiz married someone as per wishes of his parents, broke up with Annie, and had a daughter. Now he is single again and is reconnecting with Annie. That is why they were so formal in the office.
Also Zainab was not prepared to wait for Behram six years back, but now the attitude of his mom and sisters show that the two got married recently. So how come she waited another 5 to 6 years for him? Things don’t connect.

Not relevant to today's review but i wanted to mention one thing. When we talk about whether what we watch influences us or not, so many people argue that dramas are just for entertainment and they don't have any effect in our real lives. But dramas to choro, i think i have become a completely different person after listening to aamna for 4 years. I was also one of the persons who had typical thought process like my mother and elder sister and women of earlier generations generally have. But my point of views everything changed after listened to aamna and hassan continuosly. So the point is everything we watch influences us. So we should be careful as to what we watch. And these drama makers have a big responsibility on their shoulders that they should be held accountable for.

I agree with the girl's point of view in Tere Bina main Nahin, why walk into a marriage and feel trapped by your daily struggles rather than work for a few more years and realize your ambitions without being coerced into having children and taking care of your in-laws etc. she is a girl who likes Gucci sunglasses, expensive cars and vacations and is willing to work for it. But she should be grateful that the guy loves her ands his tiny little ego cannot accept that they wait. Maybe the sis-in-law thing was callous but she does not want to keep squabbling over money.

MPHT is tiring honestly. I keep on giving it a chance because I want to see wahaj, I want to see Hania and I think this is why alot of viewers are still sticking to it till the story progresses enough to understand the entire agenda. Hence the good amount of views. And I havent seen much of Zaviyar but if youre saying this is his better acting God knows what he did before. Wouldn’t want to bash him too extreme he is probably trying but what in the world are these expressionless dialogue throwing! With this cringe romance and the girl actually falling for it and wahaj screaming like a rejected ashiq which we can see in the next promo. These are all super predictable and tiring! also a minor yet so rookie mistake, did anyone notice when hania had a scene with her father, the brightness was so much that you could barely see her. Why such edit or shor execution on an actor who’s already so fair? It was so not pleasing for the eyes.

Tere Bin: As expected, it is a larger than life commercial project, with glamour, good cinematography, drone shots that hook the audience immediately. Wahaj, with his Bollywood style entry, is looking dashing. Yumna needs to change her stylist. Her hair , makeup looked bad, her birthday dress looked straight from Landa bazaar, while Wahaj looked royal, very well dressed. If treated well the story has the potential of questioning extreme patriarchy. Basically both, Murtasim, Meraab, are empathetic at heart, taking stand for the weak, but Murtasim is brought up in an environment where a woman who uses brain and steps out of the house for anything intellectual endeavour, is considered a rebel. The conservative family first gave their daughter to someone else to raise, and now want to tame her, switching off her brain cells.

I really hope to see Saba Hamid's interview on Something Haute. I mean WHAT A LEGEND 🤩
Please do ask her about her character 'Rabiya' in the Baraat Series. It's rare to see a middle aged women pregnant on television (in Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat) 💗
Please please do a Haute Gold on the Baraat Series (Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat, Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat, Dolly Ki Aagayi Baraat (telefilm), Takkay ki Ayegi Baraat, Annie ki Ayegi Baraat). Its so much fun to watch plus it was so ahead of its time. Waiting for it impatiently 🤞🏻🤍
Please also do a Haute Gold on ptv drama Waris and Samundar. I mean the storyline was just epic. Samundar drama was full on suspense, emotional and entertaining

TBMN: I disagree with what Aamna said. I havent seen the drama but from what Aamna said, I believe Sonya's character is not exactly selfish when you see how brothers of widowed and unmarried sisters are treated in society. Somehow their happiness as a couple is overshadowed by their sister's marital status because there are several people who would point fingers at the married couple and call them *selfish* for enjoying their life while their sister is sitting at home unmarried/widowed. It is in fact a good boundary to establish that you wouldn't want this kind of interference/responsibility in your life.
*However,* I can totally understand if it is beyond the scope of Pakistani dramas to respectfully establish this demand. I can see how this female character can be easily villainised for ensuring that her future is as secure as possible in this culture and economy. Therefore, it is perhaps a lapse in writing that it is not able to potray this positively.
I would like to state that despite that, this generalisation should not be made that if a girl wants an educated husband or doesn't want to be responsible for his sisters then she is selfish. It is good to be selfish sometimes, saves you from misery later on.

Dear Amna and Hassan, I am an avid watcher of your reviews and love how you two present them unapologetically. You guys rock!
I know in the past you have said that everybody has the right to disagree with your opinions. I was compelled to write this comment about your review on Meri Shahzadi last Monday, as I wholeheartedly disagree and I know you take disagreements well :). For the first time, in many many years I am seeing a drama that has a flow which doesn’t insult my intelligence. It hasn’t left me thinking “Huh? What? No, but that’s not what they said in the last episode..” Every scene so far makes sense. Dialogues are well written and if you notice dialogues are between characters rather than being said “at” each other. No fillers like “shabash tum khana khao” ya “chalo chalo jaldi Karo na” unless where they are warranted. Dining table scenes are there, but only to bring across an important point. For e.g.,Dania is fed up of constantly being sidelined and so she finally explodes at the table.
Now coming to Dania. I agree with you all about the whisper acting being a little boring. However, I am more focused on the transition to a stronger, bolder Dania who isn’t whispering any more. That is the most natural transition to me. I personally know someone whose tone changed from soft, barely audible to a bolder/ stronger more articulate one after repeatedly being made to feel incompetent by her in laws. I believe the edge dramas have over movies is they allow characters to develop. And this one certainly is doing just that.
About her leaving the kids and then regretting it. 100% true. Happens in real life. Again, speaking from personal experience. Women in their most revengeful moments say and do things they don’t mean. I think of it is a not-so-silent cry for help. They are expecting a miracle, induced by a shocking action, and once that anger passes, and the miracle of the husband turning around doesn’t happen, and reality hits, they realize what just happened and yearn to go back to whatever false sense of security they had, which in Danias case was her husbands house as her children were present there.
Lastly, on your comments about people receiving the same notifications on their phones being stupid. That actually happened to me a few days ago at a party. It makes sense coz everyone at the party was a friend/ association. We follow mutual people on social media. So a picture someone posted appeared on all of our phones at around the same time, leading to comments such as “did you just see that”. So not so un-natural or stupid.
Sorry for the long taqreer, but just wanted to put my two cents worth. Meri Shahzadi should be lauded for finally having what a lot of dramas are lacking: a flow, good sense, dialogue between characters and a new set up. Love to both of you! Keep up the banter please!
