600 years of Chinese bloodline in Kenya

  • According to legends,a team of Chinese sailors survived a shipwreck in the Indian Ocean waters and settled in Lamu Island.
    Historians contend the sailors were part of a fleet sent by the legendary Chinese navigator Zheng He.
    Six centuries later, the descendants of these Chinese sailors are visible in Lamu where China's ancient Maritime Silk road terminates. In Siyu village,archeologists have discovered artifacts like porcelain and coins that were symbols of the Ming dynasty.
    Mwamaka and her family are among the ones who are living testimony of the earliest contacts between Kenya and China.
    It was in 2002 that a team of distinguished Kenyan and Chinese researchers carried a DNA analysis on Mwamaka's 63-year-old mother and discovered that she has Chinese genetics.
    Soon afterwards,the Chinese government offered Mwamaka a scholarship to study Chinese traditional medicine in China.
    Kenyan and Chinese archeologists have been tracing evidence of ancient contacts in the Kenyan coast .They hope to find the the shipwreck to help unearth all artifacts symbolizing ancient cultural and trade ties.

    Why the hell are people so belligerent in the comments, did you even watch the video or understand what its explaining? Its highlighting EARLY CONTACT of Kenyan and Chinese people via shipwrecks and lost sailors which happens all the time. It had nothing to do with the origin of humankind, its simply talking about how some of these Kenyans are descents of lost Chinese sailors.

      I live in New Zealand but born and raised in Kenya just few hours from that place. That area is full of history, Portuguese ruled that area for 600 years, Arabs were there for centuries and then British colonised it. Chinese came to Kenya before any other Europeans. On my father's side they moved to Kenya from South Africa during Shaka Zulu wars. My mother's side came from middle East. So Kenya Indian ocean due to it's natural harbour and monsoon winds brought in a lot of people from all over the world. Everyone loves it there due to it's people, hospitality and civility. Because our culture it's intertwined with the Muslim teachings and African traditions. And for the case of Indians, they were brought in by the British when Africans refused to work for the colonial masters. Chinese navigators, traders and army generals came and never took even an inch of our native land. Hope this will help.

    This is actually very very fascinating and pretty epic. Zhang He 鄭和 was the most famous Chinese naval admiral from the Ming dynasty. He was a powerful court diplomat and also a devote Muslim. He led one of the largest armadas in history with up to 300 capital ships, the largest ones were 400-500 feet long and 160-200 feet wide. They were MASSIVE. Ancient people would see in the distant sea a giant wave of huge white masts slowing arising from the horizon, the Chinese had arrived. Also accompanied essentially by a whole army (30,000 imperial troops, not including workers, officials, and others). His humongous fleet would be consider a "blue water navy" since they sailed all of Asia, to India, to Africa, to North America before Columbus with his tiny ship which was a puny 85 foot long boat with less than 100 personnel.
    Had the Chinese acted in the same ways as the Europeans, trying to colonize and use imperialism to subjugate the locals, the whole world would be speaking Chinese today. But China was only interested in trade and making friends.

    I can't believe how ignorant and abominable many of the comments here are...The expedition to East Africa of General Zheng He is a historical fact - whether some people like or not. The Chinese Fleet was the largest and most advanced of the 15th century. If those voyages had been for the conquest of territories, history would have taken a different turn. We would now talk about the Chinese empire and not the British empire...But instead, the fleet was given up and China isolated itself from the the rest of the world - until European invaders tore it apart! The seven voyages undertaken were for establishing trade routes ...trade of goods not primarily or exclusively for the trade of people. This report does not deny any previous connection between Africa and Asia. Neither are Chinese who lived 600 years ago under a monarchy , responsible for what the Chinese government does in Africa or elsewhere today! Many here, are obviously not aware, Europe and North America are still in Africa doing dirty business just as much as during the colonial days! Better to deal with someone who honestly admits he does not like me but my resources than with someone who claims who only wants to offer me "love", "democracy" and the "true faith" bs ...so keep on raging about the Chinese evil while Europe prepares pipelining African solar energy for European electricity supply, The US ignoring human rights violation in equatorial-Guinea for the petrol monopol and so on ...and keep on overlooking the evil of self-imposed, megalomaniac African heads of states and governments who care as much for their citizens suffering as they care for flies... Botswana exempt - no need to get enraged about a video you don't think is worth watching!

      This is not new. China and African countries have been conducting trading form ancient times, long before European colonizers. Africans have been traveling to Asia even since the time of Nimrod (the son of Cush). As a matter of fact check out the LUO people (a niolitic ethnic group) of Kenya and Tanzania. The name LUO IS AFRICAN AND CHINESE, THIS SHOWS CONNECTION BETWEEN THEM. SOME OF CHINAS ANCIENT DYNASTY HAD ROYAL AFRICAN BLOOD. THE LUO STATE IN CHINA IS PROOF OF THIS ROYAL BLOOD MIX/UNION. Now LUO is considered a minor Chinese feudal state, that existed from the shang dynasty. The ancient Rulers of LUO shared common origin with the kings of Chu.

    • @boogsybrooks
      @boogsybrooks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bullshit. Theres literally zero proof. The only people originating from Africa are the current peoples widely referred to as "negroes." We are Africa's only true sons and daughters.

    • @pureone8350
      @pureone8350 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually it's not clear which part of Africa humans emerged due to different early human bones scattered all over the continent, like the Jebel Irhoud specimen. We just know that our origins were somewhere around East Africa, not specifically Kenya or possibly southern Africa or North Africa.

    • @pureone8350
      @pureone8350 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plus, saying "Chinese and white people are also Africans!" is not exactly accurate. The way non-Africans look today along with their genes evolved for thousands of years in their respective regions outside Africa. They are different from their far distant African ancestors and have changed quite a bit.
