- We built this house for our family from scratch. By design, the house is simple and consists of light blocks (aerated concrete).
The total area of the house is 115 m or 1237.850 ft square feet and the exterior dimensions are 15 m2 or 161 ft2 by 9 m2 or 97 feet 2.
We built this tiny house step by step without loans and on a small budget of $21,000. This cost does't included the purchase of a piece of land. Since we do not have sufficient skills in construction, we invited our relatives to build our house.
WE are a happy couple with a young daughter, and despite the situation in Ukraine, we decided to build our own house near Kyiv. First, we bought a plot of land near a picturesque lake and forest, and a month later we started construction.
We first made the formwork for the foundation, then tied the rebar and poured the foundation with concrete using a concrete mixer and a concrete pump. After 2 weeks, we started laying aerated concrete, and all the work was done quickly within 2 weeks. After brickwork and laying the walls, we immediately moved on to the roof construction, floor screed, digging a septic tank, inserting windows and piping water into the house. It was already getting cold, so we installed underfloor heating around the entire house. This is an incredibly beautiful and comfortable solution.

We don’t have this type of building materials in Australia, I forgot how easy it was to build with those blocks and how quickly you could build a home with them. I remember helping out on a building sight when we lived in the UK in the 70’s one hand saw wad all that was needed to cut them blocks and they were so light in weight compared to other building supplies.
If ever I win the lottery and need a house built I know exactly who I would want to build it Those builders were truly amazing.

As others have noted, that’s not anything like a stone house, it’s more of a concrete bunker with windows. But considering the current state of affairs in the Ukraine, it’s remarkable you can even build that much right now. And, sadly, a bunker might come in handy for you all these days. But high marks for affordability!
But this one has nothing with a stone.

I think that's manufactured sand stone.
Limestone can be quarried in blocks cut to order and delivered in cubic piles on pallets. STONE!
We are building the house out of aerated concrete, which is an artificial stone. The house itself is located 5 kilometers from Kyiv, the most protected city. Although our CCTV camera shows missiles being shot down almost every day. Another important detail is that almost all of the men in this video are already at the front defending the country.
Sure looks like styrofoam blocks! Couldn’t be “sandstone”, and cut with a knife.

My wife’s grandfather was from Western Ukraine, before he was forced into service at 10-yrs-old during WWI. He escaped to America with nothing but his life, and retired as a brick mason in Las Vegas.

Yes, it means that everything is shown in the video in 45 minutes, but in fact we built this house for 2 months.
The way the worker was sawing the building blocks I would say that was some saw that could cut through cement. I believe the blocks were Thermolite insulated blocks.😊😊

Last home I built for my family required jack-hammers to excavate for the footings and we made 3,500 mudbricks for the walls with the roof supported by repurposed railway sleepers.

@@philtucker1224 No, it cost about $AU65,000 in Central Victoria, Australia 32 years ago. 25k went on just getting the power connected. Scavenged a dozen old red cedar double hung windows from the local tip along with many other things plus from garage sales and auctions. Also bought a massive length of old growth Douglas Fir/Oregon which I used to make the northern windows and sills from. It's a split-level home I've not lived in since my marriage ended. Next new home will be a compressed wheat-straw panel granny flat craned in ready made on a block of land beside my daughters home. Was the draftsman for the company for 3 years before leaving to be my late mothers carer.
Good building skill sets. I was impressed with the sheet metal roofing set up with rollers press and all.

Thats not stone ,, they are Thermolite blocks ,, we used them for interior wall in houses in the UK in the 60s

It is still early in the video, I am where you are laying the first blocks. I notice that you do not put mortar between the blocks? Was wondering why not? Otherwise, well done you guys

@@stephenjones9153jepp, geht mir auch so - ich vertraue zwar auch auf Chemie, aber nicht was die Langzeitstabilität angeht - also da wäre ein E-Ton Kleber mit Sicherheit die bessere Wahl gewesen - wer weiß wie dieser Schaum nach 10 oder 20 Jahren ausschaut. Also das verstehe ich echt auch nicht, wieso man da so auf ein chemisches Dichtmaterial setzen kann.

The material they are using for the walls might be Yton ( spelling ) ! It’s been around in Europe since the seventies , not heavy easy to cut with a handsaw and gets glued together . Great work guys and good craftsmanship
It was interesting to watch completely different way of building. A lot of hard work I mean a lot.
In America we lay sewer and water pipes before pouring foundation. Also styrofoam goes on the floor before cement.

It’s not a foam. It’s Aerated concrete block - stone.

Aerated concrete is a lightweight cellular concrete species - artificial stone material, mineral-based binder with uniformly distributed pores by volume. Hundreds of thousands of tiny cells filled with air, give this material an extremely high thermal insulation properties, allowing him to build from single-layer walling, fully meets the requirements of DBN in 2.6-31: 2006 "Thermal іzolyatsіya budіvel" with a relatively small thickness of the walls.
I think that we're having some trouble with the translation of "Stone" and "Aerated Concrete" . Stone refers to a piece of rock. It is a mass of naturally occurring, compacted mineral, generally mined in slabs and either stacked one on top of the other and held in place with mortor, or affixed to the exterior of a building by way of wire mesh, wire and mortor.

WOW, a lot different than here in the states.
Here in USA this concrete work would be not approved by building inspector. What they did is asking to have black mold.
I thought they were making a house in 45 minutes according to the misleading title. No, it's just the video is 45 minutes long. Why risk building a house now that could end up bombed at any time? It still is not finished in the end!!!

The aerated concrete blocks consisted of sand and foam (tiny air bubbles), while it is lightweight, waterproof and fireproof, it is non load bearing material and design for interior partitions use only. The block weights 1/7 of concrete and strength are less than 1/5 of concrete, blocks will crumble or crack at all bearing points (roof rafters).
And yet here they are i a video showing how to use them properly! Not quite sure why you even posted your nonsense, do you think it makes you look smart?!? LMFAO
@@scotty362100 I posted because I hoped some other people don't make the same mistake. After laughing, you are free to google the products. The name in the US is called Foam Crete, widely used in hotels as interior partitions, because it's light in weight and good sound barriers.
On all manufacturer's web site, they clearly stated the Foam crete is non load bearing, in case you don't know what it means, it meant vertical, horizontal and in plane loads. They have bond beam run across the top of the wall, with live loads the deflections of the beam will transfer the moment to the top units and cause cracking, thus developing leaking issues. They should have a gap and caulk joint instead.

I'm from the RSA. Stones look vastly different here. Perhaps the USA landmass is made up of foam concrete lego blocks?

Not against any of the build and the work by the Ukrainians,but...where are the stones, the title mentions stones those concrete blocks. I have a true stone built house and believe me each stone is between 60 and 120kg. In any case good work.
