  • Laguardia is the easiest airport to land at in NYC! You can easily get into Manhattan quickly, by using the free shuttle, bus, or subway!
    LGA is located in Queens about a 20 minute drive out of the city versus JFK which is about an hour drive from Manhattan. I used to use this airport all the time when I lived there and I still use it as my main airport whenever I fly back to visit friends. An extra bonus is It's newly remodeled, so it's all still shiny and new!
    They do a great job of giving you directions on how to use public transportation to get from Laguardia to Manhattan here. They have a number of assistants ready to help if you have any questions once you reach the public transportation level so don't be nervous!
    This in depth guide will give you a visual as I show you:
    - How to buy a Metro card (to access the buses and subways)
    - How to take the free Q70 shuttle bus to the subway
    - How to take the M60 bus into Manhattan
    - Which subway to take into Midtown and from there you can navigate your next destination.
    - I'll then give you some basic subway tips to help you know what to expect while navigating the NYC subway system.
    Overall, I'd say it will take you no more than 30-45 minutes to get into the city.
    If you want to see what Laguardia (LGA) looks like, Check out this video NEXT for an inside look at the NEW water show, Concourses, and More...

      It really depends on you guys how much you will be exploring or if you are just planning to explore around midtown which is all walking distance. With two of you that's $66 to go all over vs probably a $50 cab too and from the airport ($100) plus cab rides (generally at least $10 each ride)

      yes that's true lets say if you have paid a certain amount in a week.. then they consider you having purchased an unlimited metro card so they won't charge you more than the unlimited weekly charge rate... omny for those of you who do not know is the tap to pay option using your phone or a credit card .. the site says
      "Get free rides with the 7-day fare cap
      - Effective August 20, start tapping any day and $34 is the most you'll pay in a week."

    • @wwemario12345
      @wwemario12345 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hernandezfamvideohonestly in that case I recommend you’d get individual metro cards. You can only use omny for 4 riders at a time. Additionally the fare cap will only apply to the first tap per ride. So i’d either get seperate metro cards, omny cards, or separate credit/debit cards. Also, if you have your card on your phone’s wallet, you can use that and your physical card as ‘separate’ payments. Even though the money is being taken out of the same account, the system detects them as two different payments methods. So you could use your credit card on your phone for yourself and give your travel buddy your physical card and the fare cap will apply to both separately.

      I'm sorry I don't ever go to Staten Island.. I've just been on the ferry.. Google Maps will tell you the best route but either way the fastest route will be down in the Wall Street area to catch a Staten Island Bus .. so you need to take the Q70 to jackson heights, take the E Train towards Manhattan, get off at Lexington 59th street and head Downtown, get off at Grand Central 42nd and switch to the 4 train to head downtown to Wall Street and I know there's a SIM 33 C that takes you to Richmond / Dekalb area

    • @travelandledger
      @travelandledger  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When you are underground in the subway all transfers are included. Stations like times square for example connect to like 5 different subway lines so you can go here and transfer to wherever you need to get to. If you exit the subway you get one transfer from subway to bus or vise versa. So yeah depends on how much you plan to walk/take the subway. But for example if you're going to and from the airport thats like $5, then at least downtown and uptown on the subway once per day thats $10 so you are already at $15 .. but if u r staying in midtown and exploring midtown/walking then you don't need the unlimited .. just depends on you 😉
