    We were skeptical about using public transportation but after watching your video and others I think we can do it. We have only one suitcase and one backpack each so should be doable. We leave in less than two weeks. First time in NYC and can’t wait. - Laura

    This is so helpful. Traveling alone and trading to navigate the subway make me super nervous even though I'm pretty sure it's going to be straightforward. I figured I was just going to have to take a taxi and spend like 60 bucks

    Why doesn’t the subway go straight to the airport like every other big city in the US??? My guess is so tourists will fork over more dough the first minute they arrive in NYC. Am I correct??? 😮

  • @ed7519
    @ed7519 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video, keep up the good work! Do you have a website for the tourists? Also for visitors to NYC, flights to La Guardia and EWR (in New Jersey) are cheapest. JFK is NYC's International Airport and you will find the most flights there. Subscribed & liked 👍

  • @asideaccount393

    The Q70 is currently free and transfers to Roosevelt for free so would you still need a Metrocard? Is OMNY also ok instead?

    • @rollercoasterfweak
      @rollercoasterfweak ปีที่แล้ว

      OMNY works. I did it as the whole subway takes OMNY. Plus the M60 also works since the transfer is free. So you're still paying one fare for this ride of bus + subway to your Manhattan Destination

    I am currently trying to find out how to get from La Guardia to Manhattan I’m scared to take the sub because I’m traveling with 3 kids and we will have some backpacks and luggage I wanted to take a taxi but don’t want to pay over $100 . Can you please give me some advice this will be our 1st to NYC and I have no clue where to began with transportation

    • @FreeToursbyFootNewYorkWalks
      @FreeToursbyFootNewYorkWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can take the bus and subway transfer. Kids ride the the subway everyday. If it's too much luggage, then consider the transfers but a taxi won't cost $100 unless you are taking it to New Jersey.

    • @ed7519
      @ed7519 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a couple kids and lots of luggage, a taxi cab will be most convenient. Too much of a hassle on public transportation what with stairs, etc. It will be way under $100. Or take Lyft or Uber.

    • @Aprilmayjunexooxo
      @Aprilmayjunexooxo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ed7519 Thank you! We tried the cab but they won’t let a family of 5 use it, we ended up getting a Uber way cheaper then a taxi I think I paid like $75.00 plus tip of course.

    • @mr13466
      @mr13466 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @FreeToursbyFootNewYorkWalks
      @FreeToursbyFootNewYorkWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on where you are going in Manhattan. There are big differences depending on your final destination. There are online calculators that could give you an idea.

  • @practice808

    I still don't know how to find the taxi stand from LaGuardia (Terminal C). Yes, follow the signs. But, how far is it? Is the taxi stand as far as an app based stand? At one time you had to take a shuttle to get to the taxi stand. Is that still the case?
    If a taxi is just as hard to get to as an Uber, I'll go Uber. I'm looking for convenience on this trip. Thank you.

    • @FreeToursbyFootNewYorkWalks
      @FreeToursbyFootNewYorkWalks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The taxi and app based stands are almost the same distance. Taxis are a bit closer. And taxis are available at all terminals, including Terminal C.

      Taxi's are better than Uber. Taxi cabs are a flat rate from the airport, I mostly fly out of JFK. I think she mentions here it isn't a flat rate out of LAG. Still it would probably be about 40 bucks? if you just go into Manhattan, over the Queensboro bridge and then get out and take a train or a bus anywhere.

    • @roanokejoe
      @roanokejoe ปีที่แล้ว +1
