Sweet, you got it! 😎👊 im still waiting on that ST2 Pro lol. Im supposed to go to a Micromobility event on November 14 2024 so im looking forward to hopefully seeing segway there and being able to try out their ST2 Pro if they have it.
Yah man, this thing is sick. And for $950, it’s physically a lot of scooter haha. We’ll see how this thing rides compared to some of the other scooters. When are they releasing the ST2 Pro? I remember seeing some CES videos about it. Maybe you’ll be able to get some ride footage at that event :).
@tomsgadgetgarage it definitely seems like a better option to the Max G2. As for the ST2 Pro, i was told that it's supposed to be released in 2025 along with the Xyber and Xafari e-Bikes. But they couldn't tell me pricing or official release date. But they do have some people with Beta models reporting Data back to segway for them.
Ah good to know. Yah lots of good scooters coming to market in 2025. There’s the Segway ST1/ST2 as well as the new Apollo Phantom 2.0. I’m just happy to see more and more companies focus on updating scooter designs.
Hey Tom loved your unbiased first look of the Segway zt3 pro! You are an excellent reviewer and you really have a great way of speaking, you gained a sub.! I have ordered one myself from Amazon for the introductory price of $950.00 looking to take delivery of mine on the 1st. Of November and I am really looking forward to this scooter! I have owned and do have other Segway products such as my mini S from more 4 minis w/ speed upgrade. This scooter seems like they hit it out of the ballpark with a great app to back it up with. I also have vsett 8 scooter, Inmotion V11 Euc, and a one wheel pintX that I love to ride. ✌️🛴🔋
Looking for a scooter upgrade for 12yr old boy for Play and to ride to school. Looking for something with a suspension... Seems like a good option. Is this too big or would he grow into it quickly? Already has a Segway street scooter... Thoughts?
Hey! So this is a rather large scooter. Segway lists rider height between 5’3” and 6’7”. Depending on his height, you may want something with adjustable handlebar height.
I was looking into getting this scooter but ended up getting the Teewing GT4, same price but larger battery and top speed, but givng up alot of the segway niceties. Im curious if youve given the GT4 a go yet i know ESG has reviewd it.
Hey! I haven’t personally tested the GT4. It looks like a lot of bang for your buck though. Segways typically have lots of tech, but there hasn’t been anything that I would consider a must have for me, except maybe being able to set max charge percentage. But even with that, you can just monitor voltage and unplug when you reach your target voltage. Have you been riding your GT4 already? It reminds me of scooters from Ausom. They also offer lots of value/performance for really decent prices. And they hold up really well to abuse.
@tomsgadgetgarage I have been riding it. I have about 150miles on it. I have the Niu kqi 100p as well and they are so contrasted, light and portable but small range vs big and heavy with massive range and speed. I do miss the Niu build quality and app features. However it's hard to not love the GT4, the value is insane. I'm 285pounds and I still get 30+ miles of range and about 35mph top speed.
Great video. The width of the deck looks wider than the Max G2. I would like to see it next to your Max G2. Wider is better. Height is also important. The handle grips look good. But adding a phone holder might be a challenge. Other than that, it looks like a really nice upgrade from the Max G2. Really a great job displaying and showing this beautiful scooter. Thanks
Thank you! For the phone holder, there’s actually a section of removable trim that gives you access to the underlying handlebar 😊. I figured that out after I published the video haha. I will see if my phone holders fit. I’ll also make a post tomorrow with a picture of both scooters side by side. This thing dwarfs the G2 in size.
@tomsgadgetgarage Really. Thanks. And another question about the deck. There are two coverd slots you mentioned. Are those for mounting a seat? And if so, is one offered for this new model?
It appears so. Check out the China version of the Ninebot site. Scroll towards the bottom section. I see a seat, rear mounted basket, and front basket. www.ninebot.com/product/zt3pro
Thanks for the review. I would appreciate it if in the next video you could tell me your height and show in the frame how you look from the side on this scooter. I am tall, so small scooters do not suit me.
You may be taller but Mitchell at ESG is 6'1" and is normally super critical of short bar heights. I know when he rode the ZT3 he had no complaints about the bar height. I think I heard that the ZT3 is 42" but Tom might already be getting ready to talk about that in his upcoming video's.
Yah we’ll see how 25mph feels on this thing. It’s always nice to have speed in your back pocket in case you need to get out of a hairy situation, but it seems there are lots of scooters in this segment with sub-30mph speeds. I average about 17-20mph on most of my rides, with some occasional bursts of Mario Andretti here and there haha.
I’m curious how you got yours so early if you bought it yourself? I ordered mine on Oct 1st and mine hasn’t shipped yet. Now it says Pre sale expected to deliver mid November. When I ordered it said late Oct delivery. I hope the mid November ETA is for new orders and mine isn’t delayed until then.
Hey! So I ordered mine on 9/26 within a few hours of the pre-sale going live. I did see that pre-sales are now expected to ship in mid-November, but that’s for people ordering now. You’ll probably get yours soon. They sent me a shipping notification 3 days before it arrived.
I know when Spring rolls around a lot of scooter and e-bike companies have start of the season sales. Here in Arizona, right now is the start of our season haha.
So I’ve thoroughly tested 3/4 Ausom scooters, including the Leopard DT1 Pro and the Gallop. Their whole lineup is excellent and have so far held together very well. Another option is the Apollo GO if you’re looking for something lighter. That’s held up really well for me so far. Lots of power for a small package. I’ve also heard (I haven’t tested) good things about the VMAX VX4.
Woah..it's already here! It looks fantastic. You've done the best close up overview on TH-cam and it's really great to see it up close and personal. Nice to see a relative lack of vibrations which is a bonus that speaks to the quality. Hopefully you've been able to take it for a ride already. Can't wait for the rest!
Thank you! Yah it came in yesterday afternoon 😀. It’s definitely got some size and heft to it. I’m going to take it out for a ride this evening around the neighborhood and see what it’s like riding around in Sport mode. They do have boost mode but I’m really not sure I’d use that much, except for getting ahead of traffic or something. It’ll be interesting to see if boost is available when battery levels are below 50%. With the Max G2, the boost is only available for me at the beginning 20% or so of the battery.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Awesome! I'm really eager to know how this scooter works for you because I'm sort of looking for an excuse to buy it. I'm still trying to figure out what role it would fill but I could probably use it around the neighborhood for cruising some of the dirt areas and trails. Oh Kudos to Segway for nailing the weight perfectly, since that's so rare! You're thinking of the boost feature exactly like I am... like maybe across and intersection or up a hill... but the rest of the time you kind of have to treat it like it's not there because it's not a button you can hit when you're already rolling.
Depending on where you are at, it may be restricted due to local regulations :(. I’m not sure how to unlock it, but I’m sure there will be a solution soon.

Good video. Looking forward to your range test follow up video. With that little battery I'm guessing real world range is going to be 15 to 18 miles tops. Thanks.
Thank you! Yah it’ll be interesting to see what I can squeeze out of this thing. I’m also interested in seeing if it can muster the strength and range to make it up my South Mountain hill climb test. Good news is the weather has cooled down, so I’m more open to walking the scooter back 🤣.
The ZT3's battery is just a hair smaller than the KQI 300X's battery. Assuming the motor and controller has efficiency on par with the NIU, I'm guessing Tom's test will see 24-25mi and it will have no problem with the 17-18mi run up south mountain. ESG saw 20.4mi running it flat out, which will likely be the low end of the range spectrum for this scooter.
@@Patriot36 12.7ah battery getting 25 miles would shock me. That battery is insanely small and Segway knows better than to put that tiny crappy battery in their new scooter. Hopefully his video will be out soon because I'm very curious.
@@williamcopeland2617 Well, it's all an educated guess until the range test is done but like I stated, ESG has already done a range test, flat out (or close to it) on hilly terrain, and got 20.4mi. Tom will get more range than that. Also, you're talking about "12.7Ah" which really doesn't mean anything. You have to look at the watt hours aka (Voltage x Ah = Wh). The ZT3's battery is larger than the Max G2, about 600Wh compared to about 550Wh. So, if the Max G2 is seeing 23-25mi at particular speed, then the ZT3 should be slightly more, even though it's slightly heavier, assuming the same motor and controller efficiency. Great news is, Tom does the best range tests on youtube so if for some reason it comes up short of the Max G2, it probably means it's less efficient. Also, I agree that for a 66lb scooter that goes 25mph, it should have a larger, 48v, 15ah, 720Wh battery. This would have multiplied the versatility of the scooter immensely. And yes, it would have cost Segway less than $100 to have put a significantly larger battery in the scooter which most of us would have been happy to pay. Unfortunately the the engineers aren't at the helm, the bean counting marketing directors are but that's the difference between a company like Segway and a company like Apollo where scooter enthusiasts are at the helm and most often get it right.
