Great tip on heating up the adhesive, didn't know that. That kind of stuff is why I watch your channel, I love tips and tricks.

I like what you do, the way that you do it and the way that you show it.
You ask for comments, then read and evaluate them with an open mind.
Chassis cab's are ten a penny and pristine paint jobs are mere cosmetics.
Anyone who has followed this build couldn't give a fiddlers fart for either.

You are doing an awsome job, so much welding, so much cutting, so much corners to paint...etc. And doing it all alone is a pain in the butt. But you make it work. Kudos to you!

Like the length of these vids, and watching them as a series. Maybe when you're between big builds you could make videos showing daily operations and parts of smaller projects in the same video.

  • @visualnewbie
    @visualnewbie 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Whatever that doesn't burn you out is best. In lots of cases, TH-camrs that try the everyday video route burnout sooner than later and the quality of the video and subject matter goes downhill. They force themselves to post a video everyday even when there's really nothing interesting to post. Anyways, do what's best for you. I'm already a subscriber, so you're definitely on the right path.

Now I understand painting that contraption was about as much fun as itching powder in your undies.
But, Fifteen Thousand views in a couple of days!!
As much as you hated painting that headache, we the viewing public loved it!!
Matty, you are at the beginning of a big following young man. Keep up the videos please.

These videos are so refreshing, real world jobs in real time, gremlins and all. FFS slap some hammerite on the chassis. I didn't do it on mine and left it over winter only to find that the salt had turned it to puff pastry. 2016, MOT was just a number plate light. 2017, the MOT was 11 points of terminal rust. Don't spoil the ship for a hapeth of tar. Great videos Matt.

Hi I'm watching all the way from Barbados and wishing you were my neighbor to be always over at your shop helping you do stuff. I look forward to your everyday videos and I'd like to see more detail. Like fitting the winch could have been a whole video by itself. I don't know if that's practical but we as viewers live through your fabrication challenges. I guess there is a thin line between job and TH-cam video, but I enjoy them all. To be honest I hate it when you speed through the video. I'd like the instructors train of thought when your building your stuff.

I'd say first of all do what you feel like you can do, if videos every day is a pain in the ass for you, don't do them. If you feel like videos every day works well for you do that. What I'd do is put small short project videos out fast (ie every day or every other day), and put longer projects out as compiled videos (once a week maybe?).
Ultimately I say do what you feel like you can do, because if you aren't happy making the videos than you probably won't make something you want to show.
It's looking good man, can't wait to see you roll a car up on it!

The best idea to fix electrical wiring is weld wire along the rails to provide a means of stable support, you can weld the wire every 200 mm leaving a bit of space between the rail and the wire so the cable tie can be inserted, or just tighten up a wire between 2 points, then wrap the cable with tape or insulation and then cable tie it all to the wire, those stick on pads will fall off, i worked as a technician and this is how i install wiring when i do work like that.

Always find your videos interesting and informative. Suggest you choose the format that works best for you - I'm sure your viewers will appreciate them any which way.
PS Hope you have made a really good connection to the chassis for the negative line of the winch. When I had an Anderson socket fitted in the back of my car to run a fridge, the sparky insisted on running dedicated wires for both positive and negative connections. His justification was to minimise voltage drop and prevent problems with poor grounding eg corrosion at the connection to the chassis.

Depends on the project Matt. If it is a longer term project I think the longer, less frequent vids are appropriate. If its a shorter/smaller job then a daily upload and/or a shorter vid is good. I'm keen to see the stuff you build for your business too just to see what soft of stuff you work on. Just found your channel last week. Binged all your other vids already :) Keep up the good work-
