This week, we travel seven years into the future, and save the Gorons from becoming a dragon's dinner.
Legendary Adventures is a Legend of Zelda playthrough podcast. Which I thought was always cute.
Another Zelda series reference takes place at the fire temple. Spectacle rock, named as such because the formations make a glasses pattern. There are two jutting peaks within the death mountain volcano, and looking at the fire temple map, there’s clearly two circular rooms that get smaller as you climb higher in the temple, implying the fire temple is inside spectacle rock!
Just adding because I forgot, Spectacle Rock appears in Zelda 1, 2, Link to the Past, and even BotW!

Is wild all the different things I still learn about this game. Like you were saying with injured guard, I myself never thought about going to the fire temple first. GOAT for me.
I have never seen anyone do the fire temple before the forest temple, but whatever works!
Edit: The Soldier in the alley is supposed to be the poe collector in the guardhouse. Kind of creepy.

I've never heard the theory the Poe Collector is the soldier in the alley. I've always heard the soldier in the guardhouse near the entrance to Castletown (same place the Poe Collector's shop.) That is an interesting theory.

Seems odd that you skipped the Forest Temple for the time being. It is also possible to get the map chest by climbing over the wall in the other room. I've done it before.
I decided to change up the order for this playthrough. I didn't know you could climb over the wall to get the map, I'll have to try that sometime.
Its very nice that you can both get the bow and hookshot- making sure you have some form of long range attack is so nice of them.
They do a good job of balancing one's kit here.
Its one thing that I get frustrated with TP for upon replays. You feel so weak and immobile in the early game after the first experience
Embarrassingly, I could never beat the forest temple and find the bow. I explored more and found the fire temple and then the water temple via the iron boots. Turns out I beat them before the forest temple. So eventually I figured it all out and completed the forest temple as my third dungeon.
I've fallen a couple times from the crater bridge to the first floor boss door, and I realized you can use farores wind to teleport back up to the door you fell from. Saved so much frustration
That's a good use of it!
Anyone else only know about the dying soldier existing because of Adamwestslapdog's intro to his version of Ocarina of ztime Abridged?

Fantastically made as per usual. It's been a long time since I've played Ocarina of Time and with life, kids, and responsibilities it will be a long time until I can play again. This is a great way to experience the game in the mean time!
Also, it is easier to defeat the second Flare Dancer. Once its stunned, use the Megaton Hammer to deal massive damage.

I was certain there was at least one mandatory eye switch in the Fire Temple that needed the bow, but I suppose not!
I used to be terrible at the Forest Temple, so for a long time, I did do the Fire Temple first.
This is so good! I love this longer video this time amazing! And its interesting that for this you chose to do fire temple first rather the forest temple first. did you do it to mix up the playthrough a little bit or is it something else?

I am curious to hear your insights on the Water Temple. I know it is a pain and the limitations of the hardware made it worse... but it is (in my opinion) the most intricate Temple in the game. Guess we will find out in a future episode! 🍿 🍿
Agreed, I found the Water Temple to be the most fun out of all of the Ocarina dungeons. Granted, I first played the 3DS version which made changes specifically to alleviate the frustration players had with the Water Temple in the original release so my experience is different from players that played the game as kids in the 90’s.
