  • I do not own the background music, but I do like it a lot. Hope we can keep this video up as it is the only take!
    Finalized the install of the Gigabyte Eagle RTX 4070 Ti in my HP Omen 30L. This is likely the most card you can buy right now that fits in this case.
    Out of the box this was a 3060 12gb, air cooled 5600G, 16GB RAM, 500w PSU and terrible cooling.
    Now it runs a 4070 Ti, 5600X on an OEM HP Omen liquid cooler, 32GB OEM 3200mhz RAM, 750w PSU again from a higher model HP Omen and tons of added Noctua fans a couple of which run on Noctua controllers.
    I run this thing hard and these days it seems to max out around 75 Celsius on the CPU and similar or less on the GPU. It pushes max settings at a locked 120hz on a Samsung CRG9 at 5120x1440 with relative ease.
    I'm a car guy, so PC stuff isn't my natural habitat... but iRacing has forced it out of me.

      Very satisfied with its performance. I have switched ram to GSkill and am considering going to 64GB. Also pondering a 5800x3d to give the 4070 Ti a little more ceiling for gaming.
      I have to say the GPU is what really turned the corner on this machine. It brought the temps down so much over the Asus 3070 I had before... gaming was always into the 70s celsius and now is typically mid 50s. The temp drop is what is really pushing me to consider more CPU as I hear the x3ds run hotter... Curious if the OEM liquid cooler is enough as really nothing else will mount to this mobo that is an upgrade so far as Im aware.

    Looks dope , I also heard omen came out with an update for the bios that allows you to put a 5800x3d in , you should consider

      I think that or perhaps a 5600x3d will be the last real upgrade for this machine. I just finally got that bios update you mentioned in the last month. Crazy it took years for HP to release a bios that actually finally solved most of the other bugs at the same time. Still don't love their bloatware and how it fights against good programs.... But that's another story.

    May i ask how noisy this card while gaming? it the only thing that can be a dealbreaker for me.. there is not enough information out there btw, if u can make another video for such data would be awesome

    • @8thPlaceProductions
      @8thPlaceProductions  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my opinion the card is amazing, and also quiet. My system however, thanks to a case with inadequate airflow has to run a few high powered fans at some stout RPM to keep the whole thing cool - so a video won't really give much help. The card is a legit 4070 Ti, no shortcomings because of its smaller size and it runs super cool thanks to the revised/less power-hungry architecture.

    Did you have to take anything apart in order for it to fit in if so what did you remove?

    • @8thPlaceProductions
      @8thPlaceProductions  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This particular card fits the 30L case super good, no mods needed to fit. But, it does want to see a 750 watt power supply, so if you've got a lower output PSU you may have issues under heavy load.

    @MetalGaiden96 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How has it been working so far? Any issues with temperatures? Also, how did you get those bottom and front fans installed? I'd like to do that with my 30l as well.

      @8thPlaceProductions  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry on the slow reply, a couple weeks longer yet into this and everything is really doing well. Temps are lower with this 4070 and same fan arrangement than they were with the prior ASUS KO 3070 or the OEM 12gb 3060.
      As for adding fans, I've done a couple of splitters off of the case headers and then since my system uses all nvme ssds, I took the hd power headers and have them powering Noctua fan controllers. Each controller runs a 120mm Noctua.
      At peak gaming these days I tend to see high 60s celsius, occasionally low 70s on the CPI and typically mid 50s into low 60s on the GPU during pretty intense gaming sessions. At idle the CPU wants to be in the low to mid 40s celsius, it used to run a little cooler but I finally was able to overlock the RAM in Omen hub and that seemed to ramp up my CPU temps a bit.

      @@8thPlaceProductions No problem man. I understand. But nice! I asked this because I'm considering switching to a 4070 from a 3080. Not the biggest upgrade, but since the 4070 and 3080 generally perform the same with the advantage of the 4070 being way less power draw, as well as dlss 3 support, and assumingly less heat. I'm enticed to make the switch, but still deciding.
      I see. I'll have to try that out for myself if I'm able, cause I would like to add a couple of more fans if possible. My temps generally stay within the high 60s/low 70s, but can climb a bit into the high 70s and even lower 80s on more graphically demanding games for both my GPU and CPU. Would hope a couple more fans would do the trick in bringing that down. But switching to a 4070 may help a good deal as well I would think, due to needing less power.

      @8thPlaceProductions  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MetalGaiden96 adding fans and upgrading fans is paramount on these cases. I've had it in my head to really test temps via playing around with the RPM on the fan controllers.... But I'm probably going to put an x3d cpu in this thing before worrying about temps with the current CPU.
      I really do think moving to a 4070 series card series over the 3080 would likely bring down temps a lot. The 3070 surprised me on its crazy heat, I assume the 3080 would too.

      @@8thPlaceProductions Hi bro! I wanted to ask, when you open the box of the 4070ti eagle 2.0, is there any protective plastic with the GPU body? (I'm talking about the graphics card body, not the external box.) Thank you in advance! I would like to confirm this further as I am concerned that the graphics card I have received is someone else's used card. The GPU itself I received didn't have any protective plastic, which should normally be on the RGB elements in the centre and top of each fan, but neither did.😅😢

      @@kealey972 you'll probably be less than delighted to know that the only reason I've gone this deep into building the 30L is because iRacing. At present time I have 2 games on my rig, iRacing and American Truck Sim for chill time.
      I keep fps basically locked to my monitor, 120hz on 5120x1440 and iRacing only dips on race starts, 60ish is the worst I've seen recently, but I haven't played in a few months and the game has undergone updates. I run pretty aggressive eye candy there. If I unlock the FPS it will see around 150-160 once the field breaks up.
      ATS isn't demanding of anything so I run max sets and never pay attention to frame rate on that game.
      I snagged a 5700x3d during Prime Day to replace the current 5600x. I really want to move to Samsungs 57, or triples once space allows and intend to run this PC as long as I can. /book
