The Character sheets were laminated with a heavy-duty laminate, which actually makes them super-durable and feel more like the thick player mats I wish they were. PHG: if you ever print out the character sheets on thick cardboard and include them in an expansion or charge for them separately as an add-on, I'll be the first one to purchase!
Hay Scott, Wonderfull review. Not too long, not too detailed and it left me with a warm fuzzy feeling plus a smile. It mirrors everything I like about the game. Luckily, when I play, I only have to manage two mice as my wife has to play and read the story (because it's the french edition.) Good luck with the painting. I have done some in my time and the only advice I can give you it be patient and take your time. Base coat, base colour, lo-lights/shadow, highlights. Speak to you soon

It's too long of a drive for me to make trips to get sleeves and I want good quality sleeves :p I've been unable to really find dependable places and I've been meaning to sleeve up all my cards from various board games. Just need to make sure I get the right sizes >.
This is a beautiful, interesting and fun game that I truly enjoy playing (and yes - always do 4 characters). WARNING - be ready with lots of small ziplock bags to store each character, as the story takes many sessions and characters have a lot of components. There are also a LOT of pieces, which you will want to keep separate. IMPORTANT -as soon as you get this game track down the RULES ERRATA - there are lots of issues with items and strategies. I would love to see this game re-released with improved rules, a bit more editing regarding information placement / glossary, and a bit more variety in foes.
Just received a notification that my copy is shipped out and should be here by Saturday. I'm *so* excited and so are the three people (my wife and two of our gaming group friends) who will be going on this adventure with me!
I wouldn't really compare it to Descent, both games are very different. But if you're looking for a fully co-operative dungeon crawl, then Mice&Mystics is easily the best choice there is. A fantastic game overall, not much to criticize it for. The only thing I can think of is that it would be nice to have a bit more procedural dungeon generation, but even so, the scenarios in the base game will keep you entertained for a long while.
There isn't a game out there that is closer to M&M than Descent. The mechanics are almost the same except that the Overlord has been removed from being a player.
I definitely don't mean to say "if you like Descent, you'll like M&M," but I do think it is Descent: Family Edition; because of the similar mechanics but with a much lower barrier to entry.
I find this game to be so cute and think it will be added to my collection soon. This board game also reminding me of a movie call The Witches for the 1990's where a boy was turn into a mice and have to stop a group of witches from doing there evil planed. Hee hee....Thought you should know^^
I actually laminated them with a pretty durable laminate. I couldn't find any sleeves that would fit well and the cardstock isn't that great, so I wanted to make sure they were protected... especially playing with little hands... my son's... not mine.

KAM1138a Make no mistake, I was totally prepared to contact PHG for replacement cards in the event I screwed them up. Thankfully, the heavy-duty rotary cutter at my local FedEx/Kinko's came in very handy.
There's enough story and play here for me to justify the price even going through it once; YMMV, but one-off downloadable adventures and expansion stories will really give this game legs.

If it is history based what about its replayability? And great review btw, very fluent and interesting.
