Thanks! 😊 The weather has definitely made a cool change this week, but it has been very hot this year. I'm hoping to go for a long ride over the next few weeks.

Great video Andy, I agree about only charging while riding. Glad they gave you some more stickers because that's the most important thing really :-)

Hey, Sean! Thankyou 😃 Haha, I agree! I'm tempted to put some stickers on the panniers, but I kind of like the current look.

I have the wireless charging head mounted on my Rebel -- the head just uses a USB-C socket to connect to power, so you can just detach the cable if you want to charge something else.

That's cool Tony! 😊 Do you mean the charger is not connected to the battery? like a powerbank instead?

@@andymoto I got the Waterproof 12V to USB Smart Adaptor that Quad Lock sells as an accessory, which connects the battery to the charging head. (As far as the charging head it actually looks like Quad Lock has two different types, one which has hardwired leads you have to connect to the battery yourself, and the other which just has a USB-C socket. I have this latter one.) I went this route to get the SAE connection you can use for a trickle charger for later, and the adaptor lets you switch power on/off manually (the USB-powered wireless charging head has an on-off switch as well) or put it in "auto," which cuts off power if voltage drops too low. And obviously you get a USB-A socket, as well.
I already find the mount to be a little fiddly sometimes so the last thing I want to do is also plug in a cable in addition :)

It will indeed drain the battery. If the red light is on, it is draining your battery.
I got a quadlock a few months ago, and I got the charger that hooks directly to the battery. I didn't realize that it continually charges the quadlock, regardless if the bike is on or not. Went on vacation, didn't ride my bike for 2 weeks, and my battery was dead as a doornail. I would NOT recommend the charger.

Hey, thanks for the comment 😊 Oh really. That sucks. I've had mine a few months and it hasn't drained the battery. The bike has sat for a few weeks and started okay. As far as I understand it, the quadlock itself shouldn't drain any power unless there is something plugged into it. Maybe yours is faulty?

if it's wired directly to the battery, it will pull some voltage, so given enough time, the battery will drain. Instead, it should be wired into a fuse that's only active while the bike is powered

That is another good option. 😊I didn't want to touch any of the bike's wiring and the quadlock came with the connectors for the battery, so I just used that.

Andy! Lovely to see and hear you again! Keep rambling ❤ the charger shouldn’t drain your battery unless your phone is connected to it, at least mine doesn’t seem to. Looking forward to all your new adventures!

Thanks Brian! 😃 Glad you don't mind the rambling. It's working well so far, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Nice video Andy, l have been thinking about installing something like that on my bikes. A closer look at the products and the costs would have been great, but good to see your review.

Thanks Bill, I should have mentioned that, I was too eager to get them on 😂I've got the link in the description and mentioned each part there. I waited until they had a 30% off sale. I think it was around $130 (AUD) in total.
