Agreed, whoever this ump is really pisses me off. Why's he lecturing the catcher for the staredown when it's **absolutely** warranted? The batter should've automatically been called out, and he knew exactly what he was doing.
I love how Posada continued to complete the play with no glove, and then proceeded to air out his grievance with the umpire. That’s a real pro right there.

Posadas sass is the same sass I learned. I was a catcher for about 11 years. During this time. Being like 14 and watching HOW to protect that damn plate. I MISS PLAYING SO MUCH.
Lol so I'm so supposed to believe that Figgins accidentally trips over to the other side of the plate, exactly were his foul ball is going, and still trips and gets tangled up with Posada. Yea na.
Baseball is a weird sport. There's a bunch of 90s Yankees with 4 or 5 World Series rings who made tons of All-Star teams who don't seem like they'll ever even sniff the Hall of Fame. Paul O'Neil 5 (one with the Reds), Bernie Williams 4, Tino Martinez 4, Jorge Posada 5, Chuck Knoblauch 4 (one with the Twins), Joe Girardi 4 (one as a Yankees manager), Andy Pettite 5, David Cone 5, even Chili Davis 3 and 2400 hits- these teams have dozens of combined All-Star appearances, gold gloves, silver sluggers, top-10 MVP finishes, and David Cone won the CYA earlier in his career, and yet it seems like only Jeter and Rivera will end up in the HOF. And that doesn't include Roger Clemens, who has a legit claim on being the best pitcher of all time with 7 Cy Youngs. It's not unprecedented, because the Yankees have a bunch of players with 6, 7, and 8 rings who aren't in the HOF, but this Yankees group was the only one to win 4+ world series since Mickey Mantle and many of them had a bunch of individual accolades and counting stats that were impressive, but not the 500hr/3000hit threshold. I guess with seasons so long and so few postseason games/series, they just focus almost exclusively on the regular season? Maybe it's because the Yankees dominated so long that the sport adjusted to focus on regular season performance because the Yankees had players like Yogi Berra with 10 rings and Lou Gehrig with 8 rings who never played together.
Anybody that plays or played baseball knows what happened. Figgins hit into him causing the glove to become jammed in a certain spot where posada couldn’t manipulate his glove the way he had to / to be able to catch the ball correctly. Which is why the bare hands choice became his split second choice in that split second because he believed that he would be able to catch it bare handed rather than his glove being jammed . The umpire should’ve known that comeon.
His glove was knocked half way off. Couldn't get it back on in time. Keep the momentum and take the glove off. Figgins was trying to break up the play.
@@orangeflaws8088 Well, if Posada had dropped the ball then there'd be a reason to call interference. But no aspect of the game ended up being affected.
The guys announcing this play must be bafoons. Never seen this play or the entire play and CB Buckners handling of the play until now. Figgins pulled Pasada's glove off to the point he had to discard it to be able to make a play. You have Batter's interferance and he is out at any level of baseball codes.
Some one knows why do they got arguing? Posada just dropped off the globe before catching the ball cause the globe was about to fall down by the batter interference... Why the umpire was arguing?
Posada told the ump he should have called Figgins out before he had to risk catching the ball with his bare hands. And he's 100% right.
Agreed, whoever this ump is really pisses me off. Why's he lecturing the catcher for the staredown when it's **absolutely** warranted? The batter should've automatically been called out, and he knew exactly what he was doing.
Posada was such a beast man, I miss him dearly.
mee too :( the best
YES
Lmao posada's sass is real.I love it
You know how many times this mans been thrown out 🤣
lmfao the broadcasters acting like figgins didn't do anything wrong
I'm a die-hard Red Sox fan and I love Jorge Posada. A great catcher and a stand-up, classy ballplayer.
I love how Posada continued to complete the play with no glove, and then proceeded to air out his grievance with the umpire. That’s a real pro right there.
The umpire scolded Posada because he only saw Jorge pushing Chone Figgins but it was Chone who started him and should have been called out.
tried to make it look accidental. he had plenty of time to clear out of the way. I love the death stare by posada
Posada was a well balanced Catcher. Defensively he wasn't great but was good, then his bat was just off the charts for a catcher. Miss this guy!
When he shoved the batter out of the way, that’s when his glove became loose. Love Posada!
Top 10 MLB catcher of all time!
No way LOL

Loved the video, looks like Gary Sanchez could learn a few lessons from Jorge Posada!!!
He didn't knock his own glove off his arm was pulled on
figgins clearly pulled on his arm
0:07 OH WHAT A CATCH U SEE DAT
Una gran jugada de George Posada
I'm with Posada: they at least have to send Figgins home with a note to his mom.
Savagery at it's finest.
(Makes catch) Posada gives him that look like...
Bitch, please 🤣
How did the ump not call that the moment contact was made?

Umpire- “Out doesn’t count because you didn’t catch it with your glove”

Jorge's the fucking man. Best catcher of my lifetime!
They don't make em like posada anymore.
Fuckin Laz Diaz.
joe Bugbee That wasn’t Laz Díaz. It was C.B. Bucknor.
Posada is tough!
The toughest Yankee..posada was the the back bone of all the Yankee world series wins..behind the plate and hitting from either side..
Figgins clearly tried to pull his glove off, total bush league play and of course Bunkner misses it
Why would the ump have any issue with it?
The batter should have been called out for interference. The umpire was wrong.
Did the batter REALLY lost balance? Don't think so.
Awesome
AWESOME!!!
His glove was knocked half way off. Couldn't get it back on in time. Keep the momentum and take the glove off. Figgins was trying to break up the play.
tf, why was CB Bucknor objecting to Posadas catch?? a catch is a catch, whether barehanded or with a glove
Figgins really tried to get Jorge to miss the ball by grabbing his junk…
Posada made the catch and Figgins was out. What was there to argue about?
CB should’ve called interference

It wouldve been a interference call anyways
He also didn’t wear batting gloves. Starting to think he’s just anti gloves
There wrong he was trying to put it back on and he hit it wrong and it fell off
classic CB buckner being a terrible ump as per usual

The umpire should’ve called interference but didn’t so Jorge was forced to make the play when he shouldn’t of had to

Cricket players do this in their sleep.
Say what you want about the Yankees being cheats during this era, that was cheap shit by that Angels player
No class by the Angel’s batter. No wonder that organization is trash.
Rex Hudler is sooooo bad on the mic. JFC.
They both did things wrong. Posada wasn’t as good though. Arrogant. Overrated.
It would have been called out even if he missed it. It was accidental but still interference
1- it was not accidental
2- CB is a horrible ump and likely wouldn’t have done anything, that’s why Jorge was arguing with him after the play
As if people actually think this is an unbelievable catch 😂 you guys need to watch some of the best cricket catches
Niall Keating lmao no one cares about cricket
Don't act like cricket is a sport.
Imagine watching cricket 😂😂😂😂
Imagine comparing Cricket to Baseball
Cricket.... baseball with stupider rules.
