That's a team that's quit on their coach.
As a Jay's fan I've never seen a game like this.
It blows my mind Jansen is our #3 catcher in most people's opinions.
Not a big analytics but his numbers are outstanding.
Jay's have so many pieces they could use to get Soto without gutting the team or farm.

I couldn't believe my eyes at how sloppy the Red Sox players played that night it was a night and a game to remember and they were so close to breaking the record texas set with the most runs scored in a game and they broke I think 2-3 records that night. - Every Blue Jays starter had at least 2 hits and 2 runs each.
    - Despite only scoring 1 run across the last 3 innings, they were one swing of the bat away from breaking the all time MLB record for a game, 2 runs shy of the record with 2 men on base in the 9th. Santiago Espinal did take a "home run cut" to try to make it happen, and was seen snickering after fouling off the pitch.
    - Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman jumped from 50th in run support, to 6th in a single game. Even winning by 22 runs, he stayed in the game to eat innings and earn credit for the victory, throwing 100+ pitches in the process.
    - Lourdes Gurriel Jr had the chance to break Frank Catalanotto's team record for hits in a game. Catalanotto went 6 for 6 in his game, Gurriel Jr went 6 for 7.
    - All 11 runs for the Jays in the 5th inning came only after the first two batters got out.
    - The Blue Jays actually fired their manager the week before the All Star break, while they were still in a playoff spot with a winning record. They are now 5-1 since the firing, with a run differential of 55-18. They scored 1 more run in this game than in the previous 5 games combined.

A side story for many that will not know this. The Blue Jays first base coach had previously lost his daughter due to an accident, before the all star break. His first game back was this game.
I'm going to chalk this game up as a favor from his daughter, which was given by the man upstairs! This game was divine intervention! The records set in the game and very close to MLB all time runs scored in a game.

"God" had nothing to do with this, crappy playing by the Sox and fantastic playing with emotional baggage by the Blue Jays...that team pulled together to get that win for that coach and his daughter.

It didn't get ANY better for them Saturday, or Sunday. Today watching, my husband and I (both Jays fans) were honestly thinking something was up, like it didn't even seem real. The mistakes the Red Sox were making were mistakes we've NEVER seen them make. Like the pitcher's error getting to first for a routine play, the constant dropping of the ball. Even as Jays fans, it was like watching a bunch of athletes who'd never played together. It was seriously just bizarre.

As a one off game fun to watch but I prefer games that are close, the ones that have you in the edge of your seat for 9 innings.
Blast ball with multiple home runs looks great for the highlights, but I find makes the game drag on.
Having a game that’s 2-1, or 1-0 where you sit on every pitch just to see what’s going to happen, or getting 2 on 2 out in the bottom of the ninth now that’s a high pressure game and really makes it interesting.
Way to go for the Jays hopefully this will keep the ball rolling into October baseball.
