- clean and simple set up works great!
stock internal GSR.
original high milage motor
precision turbo 6262
ramhorn manifold
hondata s300
fuel pump, injectors, eboost boost controller
93 octane!
Good numbers on stock internals. I made some good numbers with a smaller 5431 Precision turbo on stock GSR internals... 327whp/282tq at 12 psi.
Big shout out to Joe ! A excellent tuner and overall cool guy 👍
UPDATE : it's currently at 17 psi now and has made over a dozen pulls with 180k miles on the dash. Time to freshen it up 💪
Boosted UnderWraps that’s an easy 10 second car!
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest just added some traction bars and refreshed the suspension with a drag catered set up so i know its has some 10's in it 👍
Thanks for allowing me to ask you a question!
How reliable is a say 4-500hp 8-10lbs for daily?
What is the lifespan expectancy on average that you seen of these set ups?
Nice. I did 364whp on 9.5lbs with kraftwerks 84mm bore
Very impressive, Am thinking on boosting my stock b18c type R so doing some research and this definitely helps!👌🏼
Saul T glad it helps! I’ve literally done hundreds of these. If you have any questions ask away
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest how's the reliability on boosting a stock type r motor. Mine is slightly modified got the motor hmotors with the usual 35-60k miles on it's in good shape, I have skunk 2 pro 1 cams bc cam gears, arp head studs and will do springs retainers valves cometic gasket. But am planning on doing stock bottom end with gt28 turbo setup from goautoworks. Just worried about reliability on the stock bottom end internals. Shooting for 275-300 hp max. I have access to a good tuner but still worried about not doing sleeve work rods pistons etc. Many have said I'll be more than good but want more opinions from people who do this not armchair mechanics if you know what I mean lol. Also I have upgraded fuel pump, reccomendations on injectors? sweet vid thanks for the input in advance
@@jprince3 lol.... I have the almost exact same built and set up as you... crazy.. but I have itr cams.. fully built head...stock b18c bottom... wanna know what it's gonna do.. .
Any idea specifically on the setup? Thinking about building a GSR I just bought but making it simple.
How much power can the stock pistons handle? I rebuilt my motor but was originally planning on keeping it NA but now I want boost. Its a B18C5 Type R btw.
I’ve done a million of them in the 4-500 range. It’s really about the combo. Like if a car makes 500 at 8psi vs. If it makes 500 at 40psi there is a huge difference
How are You monitor knock during this tuning session. Love vids bud.
Hey man- any chance you could give me a few tips on building a nice stock internal boosted b18cr. Have had my car for about 4 years now and am unsure on what route take. Any tips or advice from what you've seen work well?
Pro1 cams, tubular manifold, victor x manifold, 58 or 62mm turbo. 3” exhaust. We have done that combo on literally hundreds of cars
Good shit man. Digging the Dyno vids.
Dr.Popsicle thanks! Have so many more to edit. Trying to find some time to throw in some welding /fabrication stuff here soon
Pretty sweet power for stock internals and on pump gas lol
Factory headstuds? Good tuning nonetheless
I don’t remember on this one. I’ve never found the factory head bolts to be a weak link. I’ve done this kind of power on stock gsr motors probably 200 times. The key is having a set up efficient enough to make the power work out having to run 1000psi
is it still alive?
I have a kseries and need help with fuel tables.
What size fuel pump and injectors are you running?
I think this had a 340 and 1200s if i remember right
Joe Simpson ok thank you
Very nice 💪🏻
How much timing ?
What kind of timing were you running on pump 93?
Man i dont remember I’ve probably tuned 100+ cars since then. 🤣
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest Lol😆. I just had to revisit this video because of how well it did for such a KISS setup on pump 93. How about degree/boost when building the boost map, ballpark?
how much did you spend about?
It’s not my car i just tuned it
Why is the transition into Vtec sound like that?
I noticed that too. Didn’t sound like that in person. Maybe just a microphone thing
Hey mate do you know if the owner have changed studs to arp by anychance?
I can’t remember if it did at this point or it. It came back later with pistons rods and cams and it had studs then.
For what it’s worth I’ve made this sort of power on stock head bolts numerous times
What was the ring gap
Stock
stock rods and pistons ?
Yes, stock rods pistons cams etc
That vtec engagement don't sound right
How should it sound?
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest it sounds like a bit off sputter or something and the cross over engagement is a little slow it should snap into VTEC lil faster than that.
I would check the V Tech sylenoid and clean it up Or it could just be the tune🤷♂️
@@jaymills85 probably the tune. The guy tuning it sucks
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest lol I didn't wonna say it but i can tell he not that great. He probably got the vtec engagement set too low, needs more oil pressure build up and would hit much harder. And harder to notice the crossover because it would happen so fast.
Are these WHP figures?
ITR Cloud yes they are
@@JoeSimpsonAtTempest very nice! 293 on 7 pounds is really good! My car only made 241whp on 8 - 9 pounds
Nice. Yea this set up made impressive power for how simple it is!
