Traxxas Maxx V2 Fixing Axle Shafts (CV Shaft) *How To*

  • This is a Step by Step, How to video on changing the axle shaft/cv shafts on a traxxas maxx V2. (Exact same on V1)
    Step by Step List :
    1. Pry the wheel hex off and remove the pin.
    2. Take out the 2mm screw in the tie rod end.
    3. take out the top and bottom 2.5mm Wheel Hub screws.
    4. Pull outer shaft and hub out of a arm.
    5. Remove Bumper and skid plate.
    6. Remove 2.5mm screw In end of bulkhead.
    7. Remove plastic and steel plate on arm hinge pins.
    8. Pull lower a arm out, leave hanging.
    9. Remove 2mm screw in inner shaft - output stub.
    10. put new inner shaft and screw in
    11. REASSEMBLE
    - OUTER SHAFT -
    12. Pull outer shaft out of hub.
    13. Put new shaft in (make sure bearings are in hub).
    14. line up marks slide outer shaft on
    15. REASSEMBLE

      Soak everything in wd40 after cleaning it it helps a little bit in my little brain lol

    What size pinion gear are you running ??

      20T pinion and a 54T spur gear , I find it perfect for backyard bashing

      @@joeyanderson801 i know this is a dumb question, but did you set the mesh with the pin?
      [I use the pin, and check with a peice of paper between the gears]
