Love your channel Sir Darren - I’ve decided give you a knighthood seeing as our great late Queen isn’t here anymore to do so! Oh how I wish you were back in old Blighty so I could taste your wares. Alas, I’ll just have to try and cook your recipes myself. Thank you for entertaining and enlightening us on all things “chefy” and royal. P.s you brighten my day with your quirky and, may I say, slightly eccentric personality and sense of humour. I can see why the late Princess loved your company. I can imagine her (as do I) gravitating towards wonderfully quirky and witty people such as yourself. Pls keep up the great work on TH-cam. Lots of love from the UK🇬🇧👑🐕
Thanks for this! Lemon Refresher is mentioned frequently in the 1995 book "The Housekeeper's Diary, Charles and Diana Before the Breakup" by Wendy Berry, and I'd been wondering how it differed from plain old lemonade.
This sounds wonderful! Here in México we drink a lot of limonada (made with limes not lemon). The addition of citric and tartaric acids will provide extra zip.. thank you, chef!
I've sat here and binged on these videos to listen to the stories more than the actual recipes. After watching a bunch of ASMR, instructional or musical videos.. Chef's videos are set apart , the story-telling and cooking reminds me of being in a family kitchen, hearing the stories while cooking and learning. Thanks for the recipe too! 🍋
A bit like something I make for myself. Lemon juice, lemon zest, fresh ginger, honey or sugar, a pinch of salt, sometimes a bit of vanilla, and San Pelligrino. I feel so regal now!

Well, that certainly gave me a thirst for something lemony. 🍋 (I’ve a whole bag of them right now for lemon curd) I’ll definitely give your recipe a try (without the salts). Thanks Chef!
Will definitely try this. I make something similar using a mix of oranges and lemons but, l think the process is a bit different. Absolutely love it in summer and for those who like fizz its nice diluted with soda water too.
Thank you, Darren. I love your videos ! "Helps keep you on the throne". Some advertising guy is gonna make millions with that line ! Epsom salts. Thanks for the advice, Dr McGrady ! All the very best to you & your family !
Good Day Chef, When will you have more of your delicious spices back in stock at your website? I prepared a roasted pheasant served with a white truffle risotto and my guests LOVED IT! They raved about the seasoning. I'm now out and need more 😊
Two different kinds. Bathing Epsom salt for sore muscle relief is NOT food grade or edible. Be very careful you are purchasing food grade salts for cooking.
A drink I really enjoy is called a Lemon GInger Blast, Lemon, GInger, Apples, that's it. The apples make it sweet, but it's a great drink to fight inflammation, and clear out the pipes. You can find it on YT by many who also drink it. Trust me, you will love it.
Hi Chef, from the States. I had an issue getting this recipe. Could you please share it with us? Really enjoy your videos & thank you for all you share.
Chef, first, this is amazing. You're an absolute treasure sharing this. You absolute teddy bear. Second, I'm sorely tempted to somehow snag that intro of yours and turn it into my ring tone.
I don't know that American lemonade actually has more sugar, but it might be sweeter due to not adding all the extra acid. My favorite recipe for lemonade is equal parts lemon juice and sugar diluted with 4 parts water. It's definitely sweet, but it still looks like less sugar than this. I'm going to try it regardless. Thank you for your videos.
@@laken1804 What do you think he's using in this recipe? We aren't comparing processed foods to a home made recipe that would be like comparing apples and juicy juice apple juice. Also, nobody is using corn syrup in their home made lemonade.😒 I was simply making note to his comment that lemonade is sweeter than this drink, but it's not for lack of sugar here that's for sure. This drink has plenty.

I made a batch of this Lemon Refresher and we're hooked! I swapped sea salt for the Epsom salt. Thanks, Chef!
I love any food or drinks that have lemons in them. Limoncello is also one of my favourite drinks. 🍋🍋🍋

Happy Labor day!! This video was fun to listen while you explain the (REAL PURPOSE) of this quenching lemon drink😂 Thanks Chef Darren!
Electrolyte combo. Sounds lovely.
Tiny bit of Epsom salts is not going to send you rushing to the porcelain. It's more likely to help with indigestion.
And electrolytes for hydration

I imagine the more practical use of Epsom salts is the regulation of electrolytes.

I will try this. Thank you
I didn't know Epsom Salts could be taken internally. I'm familiar with using it externally for issues like sore muscles.
👍

I may try diluting it with sparkling water.
Try the recipe with orange instead of lemon.
I will still make my old fashioned lemonade sans Epsom Salts.
Gosh.."everything within"that brings back memories...such a wonderful book...going to make this...thank you chef...❤
Would be good to dilute it with soda water.
Oh yes, brilliant👍
Thanks.
That would be my choice, that's what I thought he was going to use.

I definitely will add the Epsom Salts.
Epsom salt is packed with magnesium, a natural muscle relaxant and mood booster.
I should make it
Funny, Lemonade is a very tart beverage. I'd be surprised to find that this drink is more tart.
I am gonna try it
Royal lemon cordial.
Great!
I make that. Raw local honey - no sugar, & Apple cider vinegar for the citric acid.
any other ingredients?
I thought you were going to make the Queen's lemon barley water. Please do! I remember reading about it in a "Hello" publication.
Happy Labor Day Darren! ❤😊❤
Thank you chef this amazing receipe will diffenately try this but omit the Epsom salt due to health issues but add a little honey. But awasome video 😊
I'd use club soda as the dilution!

It's sweeter due to sugar, corn syrup, glucose, sucrose and everything that finishes in "ose".

what do we need a little help with Darren?

Could you cut the sugar by half?
Of course if you like a less sweet drink.

I think I'll omitt the epsom salts 😬
It's like cordial.
Yes, a cordial that helps replace electrolytes.

Where does the tonic water come in?
For the bottles to put the lemon refresher in. Recycled from all the gin and tonic drunk by the family.
