Laurie: *spends over $200 on fancy mug for hot chocolate* Also Laurie: *uses taped together thermometer instead of buying new one* 😂😂😂😂😂 this is the chaos but relatability I enjoy so much
I love that on Fridays I get to go from the calm serenity of Ann Reardon to the fun chaos of The Icing Artist. I learn some things, then I lose some brain cells, and it’s an all around great time. I love these videos. Never change. 😅
The reason that the gingerbread cookies puffed up and then deflated was because you didn't roll them thin enough, those were very thick and the color difference was probably due to your using a darker molasses than the recipe writed used. I always add extra cinnamon, I have found that no recipe likes the spice as much as I do, lol. I really enjoy watching you, keep it up!
You probably haven’t heard that tool called a pastry blender before but it’s the hand grip tool that has wires or thin metal slots that you use in a bowl to hand chop the butter into the flour til it gets a sand texture. We got you girl. Love from San Diego! Also this video was amazing and I have wanted to see these made in real life for SO LONG! 🏳️🌈🤘🖖
I just lost my grandma, which was my mom for many many many years last august. I have had a very hard time with it this holiday season so far. I have so many of her things that I cherish of hers. I am like you and if something were to ever happen her handmade blankets from my great grandma would definitely be the first in the car.
One day, when I was about 5, I had said no to everything my mom had suggested for lunch... So, out of exasperation, she let me make my own lunch and said I could have whatever I made.. I made a noodle and chocolate chip sandwhich- I loved it! Haha. Gotta love kids and elves. (Love you, Laurie!! Thanks for making my childhood dreams true with the Elf pasta and Santa Hot Cocoa) :)
Laurie! I can assure you that guava DOES NOT taste like that. I'm from Venezuela and we have a lot of those there and it has a very unique flavor. Not sure if I would compare it to a pear and a strawberry, but surely not like bubblegum. I hope that one day you are able to taste a real one ❤
I've made the first with the pudding and whipped cream. I've frosted cakes with it, used it as a dip with cookies and used it as a pie filling. Use the oreo pudding mix for an even better taste. I sometimes add pumpkin and spices together. Use the cheese cake pudding mix with cream cheese. My favorite is the fudge pudding mix in a pie crust with whipped cream on top.
'How accurate do you think you were in your measuring-' 'Nine 💅' '-and your mixing' 'Nine 😘' without skipping a beat has the same energy as Clara in The Guild webseries being asked if she ever reads the patchnotes and responds with gusto 'Never 😃'
The gingerbread cookies that you made look exactly like the ones in the picture from the recipe. You did nothing wrong. There is no error in your part.
Churros are such a classic street food here in Brazil. I've had the argentinian one but for me the brazilian is the best of the best, here they have doce de leite or chocolate fillings! 🧡
You know how Kevin said and you agreed that this was healing your inner childhood memories; yeah same Laurie ❤ thank you for having such fun with these recipes! I agree with Noelle being able to take a special place in the holiday szn movies 🍿
Love to watch your videos!!! I look forward to each new one you post!❤ I’ve watched several over and over because you’re just one of my favorites!!🥰 You’re so talented and fun!😁💕
I absolutely wanted to eat the "food" and the food from Hook and the hot chocolate from The Santa Clause. Also got a lil choked up about Lori's grandma being sweet as heck!
When you're measuring molasses, if you pour a tiny bit of oil in the bottom of your measuring cup it will glide out and not stick to the sides of the cup!❤
I've actually used the pudding + heavy cream technique to top a cheesecake before. I made a banana cheesecake, and used banana pudding mix to put on top of it. I was actually trying to halfass an old whipped cream frosting recipe I didn't have all the ingredients for.
Hey Laurie! I enjoy your content. I love your videos where you pay 3 different bakeries to make you different holiday cakes! My fav! Also I bought your cake smoother. 👍 works great!
You're in luck!! That's coming in two weeks!! I just filmed it a few days ago and omg. The cakes were actaully insane! Thank you so much for grabbing our Cake Smoother, I'm so happy you love it!!!
@TheIcingArtist awh that's great to hear Laurie I'm glad I've been watching you since like 2019-2020ish haha love your content bro keep it up ❤️❤️ ps: Tell kevin and Archie I say hi huge fav of both the three of you
The ginger cookies you did say it was darker than the recipe you googled, and you also mentioned it was only supposed to be 30 seconds. I wonder if that could have any effect?
LAURIE: if i had to flee in the middle of the night ME: [nodding along in understanding] KEVIN: who would be coming after you? LAURIE: i don't know ME: ...oh right, they live in canada :(
This was a fun video to watch, I LOVE that you brought the mug similar to the one from "The Santa Clause." So cool! On a side note, (I'm sorry in advance if this offenses anyone) BUT.....when you cook noodles, the best way to know if it is cooked is by taking one noodle and eating it. It is a PET PEEVE of mine when people take the noodle that is greasy and oily, and throws it to their kitchen wall to see if its cooked....you do NOT need to dirty your walls to find out if the noodles are ready! Just eat it, we know how a noodle is suppose to taste like when it's cooked and ready to eat. Sorry again for my rant..... just a sanitary tip for how to know when noodles are ready. I love your video Laurie, so please forgive me for my small rant. Just helping. 🙏🏼😅🙏🏼
Mrs Cratchit's flambéed Christmas pudding from the movie, A Christmas Carol. Not all kids friendly dessert. When I was younger, I remember wanting to try it but was told I had to be older.
The Santa Clause is my absolute favorite Christmas movie!! I am soo incredibly happy you tried and successfully made the hot coco! I need that cup!!! ❤❤❤
I have my grandmother's rolling pin too, but alas - I never got to meet her, she passed four months before I was born. But from the stories my older siblings tell, she was a wonderful gramma.
okay wait why is it so relatable to have the same broken little cheap thing and refuse to replace it bc it still works just not the bessssttt and its hanging on for dear life.. but spend 250 on a shiny pretty mug lmao
That transfer of the solids for the hot chocolate XD Laurie babe, maybe using a funnel would alievate uneeded stress. Like the one you used five second after for the liquid
As someone who works in a Brazilian restaurant, that's not at all what guava tastes like! I'm not the biggest fan of guava myself, but they absolutely messed up if it tastes like bubblegum
i'm curious as to if she's ever read the bad omens book series, there's a brownie recipe from one of the students, from the school of good and evil. it's also mentioned in the Netflix series and it's made with, of all things, marshmallow fluff as a sugar replacement. the rest of it's the classic brownie recipe from the back of a Hershey's cocoa powder can. it's the milk chocolate, not the dark one.
Did anyone else notice the Subscribe writing on the side of the spaghetti packaging, brilliant! I live in the uk and don't have pudding pix here, can anyone tell me what's in it and can I make it myself? Great video, absolutely love the banter between you and Kevin.
Did you read the reviews for the gingerbread cookies? I find people will rate recipes high and then say how they changed it like more butter less sugar or other significant changes.
After shows and bonus content:
Laurie: *spends over $200 on fancy mug for hot chocolate*
Also Laurie: *uses taped together thermometer instead of buying new one*
😂😂😂😂😂 this is the chaos but relatability I enjoy so much

Not me coming from watching How to Cook That before this video 😂
Saaaame tho
Saame❤
Saaame!! 😏
If she’d address her temu sponsorship with the dangerous popcorn popper I’d consider coming back to H2CT
That deep pan she cooked them in didn’t do her any favors either.
It really looked like too much molasses too
Plus she didn't "cut" in the butter
"Even when im measuring im not really measuring" really spoke to me because same.
“shes one in a thousand” is so precious hahah
Listen...the hot chocolate has to be decadent enough to basically pay for the mug! Girl math! 😂😂
It’s all a tax write off for them they don’t care
This is my first video for The Icing Artist and I must say she is such a sweetheart ❤ the gentleman is lovely too.
I have not!! That tool I've always known as a pastry CUTTER! I should have just looked it up lol
@ that’s why you have us in your wonderful icing artist community! I mean you ALWAYS help us out haha. Hi to Kevin and Archie!
@@TheIcingArtist It probably overworked the gluten in the flour using the mixer?
I didn’t know I needed this video in my life until you made it 😂 I LOVE Christmas movies & love desserts so win, win.
I 100% knew I needed this video in my life lol! I've been dying to try these recipes my whole life

The bite of the pudding mixed all together, lauri's face was absolute priceless and her excitement was a kid on Christmas morning type energy.
The shaken not stirred is a reference to James Bond just made more age appropriate
I’m happy you get it
She is naturally immature so I don’t think she’d get it
I don’t get how she wouldn’t know the reference. Like I’m 28 and know James Bond.
What is your problem? @@Britty0189
I love the fact Laurie will spend $200 on a once a year use hot chocolate mug but won't break down to buy a new taped up thermometer! Gold!
The "gingerbread" cookies look more like the Swedish pepparkakor to me! They're thin and crispy, but lighter cuz they don't use molasses.
For the Who pudding I think you needed to add whipping cream for the texture. I make this dessert all the time.
One day, when I was about 5, I had said no to everything my mom had suggested for lunch... So, out of exasperation, she let me make my own lunch and said I could have whatever I made.. That hot chocolate is amazing! I made it last year for Christmas and my family loved it.
SOOOOO good!!
Pastry blender is a metal tool that has a bunch of lines cut out of it to cut up the ingredients
Isn't that a pastry cutter?
@@TheIcingArtistno it’s not
@@TheIcingArtist Different names for the same thing
You should totally do a merch says " "It could have been the recipe I chose, or it could have been me" . I'd rock that!
I wonder if the term 'pudding' here is used like it is in the UK rather than the US - where it is a general term that means any kind of dessert.
omg really??? I had no idea!
@@TheIcingArtist LOL - your rendition looks just like what they shoved in the Grinch's face, so I think you did a great job!
OMG I love Hook, and it's so that food!!! Ahhhh what a time to be alive, my inner child is pleased
Watching Laurie measure is like the baking scene in sleeping beauty 😂❤

Spends $200+ on a fancy mug, refuses to spend $25 on a new thermometer. Lol
So much fun!
It's okay...the girl math on that checks out... 💯😂👍

I used to watch Hook just cause I loved watching the food scene and dreaming that I could eat the colourful food!!
OMG yes! The hot chocolate and ice cream! Ugh two classics!
I freaking LOVE Home Alone 2! SO GOOD. And the original is amazing obviously.

The “ SUBSCRIBE”. on the package of uncooked spaghetti noodles was sneaky and unexpected 😂😂😂I LOVE THAT😊❤ Great Video😊
you’re literally so amazing, Laurie!!🩷🫶🏻
Live action Grinch is the only Christmas movie I’ll watch year round
Mrs Cratchit's flambéed Christmas pudding from the movie, A Christmas Carol.
Not all kids friendly dessert. When I was younger, I remember wanting to try it but was told I had to be older.
Looking at the thumbnail I immediately thought of Hook when seeing the Who Pudding.
The moment I saw the espresso and ghiradelli I knew it was going to be a good hot chocolate
Loved it and LOVE the color of your hair!!!!!
I’m obsessed with your personality! You guys are amazing 😂❤
I will now, forever say "1 in a thousand"
That's just so adorable. Lol
The Santa Clause is my absolute favorite Christmas movie!! I am soo incredibly happy you tried and successfully made the hot coco! I need that cup!!! ❤❤❤

Did you know there is a "It’s a Wonderful Life: The Official Bailey Family Cookbook" ?
The hot chocolate from The Santa Clause has always been something I wanted in my life
Ha! 250 dollar cup, yes. Taped up thermometer, it’s fine.
The pudding scene from The Grinch has my favorite line from that movie.
"This is not pudding."
"Then what is it?!"😂
okay wait why is it so relatable to have the same broken little cheap thing and refuse to replace it bc it still works just not the bessssttt and its hanging on for dear life.. but spend 250 on a shiny pretty mug lmao
Guava doesn’t normally taste like bubblegum
I also love Noelle. I've watched it so many times. I think it's very underrated.
Her and her husband are so adorable ❤
your videos always give me comfort and also I love that Everything is fine Xmas shirt so much ahhh
Oh, I have made the pudding (sugarfree) and heavy cream before we love it! It is a great sweet treat.
Love your channel, Laurie! Keep the holiday content coming!
Loved this!! I love you guys! An your hair looks amazing that color!!!
I want a shirt that says “I love the sound of vessels filling up”
I’m pleased it’s not just me that sees these foods in movies and my tastebuds go wild!
Laurie, was your molasses regular or blackstrap? She may have used light molasses to get that lighter color.
Wow. That hot chocolate.
I would make this for my daughter, but it would probably have to be made this way forevermore, and it seems like a lot.
You're a pastry chef and haven't heard of a pastry blender?? How??? I have 3... 1 of my own, 1 of my mom's, and I that was my grandmother's 😊❤
She said in a comment above yours that she had heard that called a pastry cutter instead of pastry blender
That transfer of the solids for the hot chocolate XD Laurie babe, maybe using a funnel would alievate uneeded stress. Like the one you used five second after for the liquid
Love this! My favorite videos! 🎄🎄❤️🎁❤️🎄🎄❤️🎁❤️🎄💚💚🎄❤️🎄💚🎄❤️🎁🎁🎁🎁❤️🎄💚💚💚💚❤️🎁🎁🎄
I'm definitely motivated to make the hot coco now
As someone who works in a Brazilian restaurant, that's not at all what guava tastes like! I'm not the biggest fan of guava myself, but they absolutely messed up if it tastes like bubblegum

The who pudding was 100% a vintage jello salad recipe.

Woww I just lost my grandma 6 months ago and I was very very close to her so I really cherish having some objects/stuff of hers ❤❤❤
LOVE your vids laurie!! 💞💞
Your hair is so cute!
I use the pudding recipe as a yummy "frosting" or cake filling!
The hot cocoa is the cup ❤❤
I agree! Noelle is such a hidden gem of a Christmas movie.
there's a movie with my daughter's middle name?! i have to find it now!
Once you go Ghirardelli hot Cocoa, you don't go back lol.
Also if I had to have nostalgic food from my favorite Christmas movie I’d be having ambrosia salad and shish kebabs 😆
Did you read the reviews for the gingerbread cookies? I find people will rate recipes high and then say how they changed it like more butter less sugar or other significant changes.
I love watching your videos. Those churros looked delicious as well as everything else, except the spaghetti I would have passed on.
I'm not thinking specific foods, but my favorites were the Rankin/Bass specials.
"This isn't a delicious looking cappuccino" well no I would say it looks more like Guinness 😂 But that is a huge amount of molasses!
