Thanks guys 😀. Ive been thinking if these shoes should have a comparison video since they’re little different but I guess I will since they are both classified as mid distance spikes.
@@RunWithJ I would like to hear about the stress they place on Achilles and Calf, do you notice a difference. For someone who has never run in spikes and has had Achilles issue, they make me nervous. Are they truly worth it for a marathoner for V02max sessions or is the adios boost or other flats you can use on the road a better investment.
Ah, gotcha. It could just me and my weak calves but the victory’s do give you a calf and Achilles workout since you’re on your toes mostly. Landing in mid foot feels strange and the way the shoe is shaped is intended for forefoot. Track and long distance are two totally different animals. I like doing some track runs since it kind of makes me feel alive once in a while to break out the speed instead of doing the monotonous miles. It can help with your speed but doing tempo runs on the road can do the same. Sometimes it’s just more fun on the track. Dragonfly’s are a lot more comfortable but I would really only use these if I was trying to do a time trial or something.
I’m an 800 runner, 1:54.07 pb in xc spikes. Would you recommend these or the victories. (I like to run the 8 in a sit and kick, with even splits the goal)
I would say the victories would be better in my opinion for mid distance. It has a carbon plate in there which should help and also zoomx foam as well.
I would say the victory if that’s your max distance. It’s a little faster with the carbon plate and air units and forces you to go fast. Little bit more aggressive than the dragonfly which is perfect for 5K and above.
Dragonfly is a wonderful spike and can be used for multiple purposes. Between the spikes if you only need one, I probably would get the dragonfly and not something that’s sprinting specific.
Thanks for the review, they look like the spikes that will be best for me but I can’t find them in stock in size 7.5. Where would you recommend buying these from? Thanks
Im getting my first track spikes soon and I might get these but im not 100% sure how to run in them. Are you supposed to run on your toes or do you run normally as if you were running in regular shoes. Or is it something like you run as you would with a regular shoe and then push off the spikes?
It naturally tries to get you to go on your toes otherwise it feels a little strange but you can mid strike on it and it should be fine for longer distances. It has a nice amount of foam for a spike for those that don’t run on their toes.
they are designhed to be the best spikes. So if there is no carbon plate is means it was useless. They won't put a carbon plate juste for the sake of it.
They would be way too harsh with a carbon fibre plate as the thin layer of ZoomX foam will bottom out too easily. Carbon plates work best with soft, thick and compressive foams IMO.
@@RunWithJ yes, the top line on the midsole does not come on the website, asking abt it because it looks cool and I’m planning on buying a pair but it doesn’t seem to have it
Oh yeah you’re right. I just noticed this on the orange color in the foam. That’s interesting. I got this from Nike.com so this should be what you get. Maybe the picture on the site is wrong or they changed the design.
Yes you can and I’ve seen it used for cross country with very light terrain but if it’s rocky or uneven it might destroy it pretty quick.’ Also these don’t come with the big pyramid spikes that help you dig in the ground.
I would say 2 seasons. These are meant for racing only but you can train in them too which will wear them out quicker. You can see significant wear after a couple runs in them with the foam.
Unfortunately i don’t think they are meant for that. The zoomx foam is too soft and they will be destroyed in x country. Any debris or rocks will tear it apart. Even on track it gets a beating after a few runs. Nike has the zoom victory XC spikes that would be better suited with plate as well.
I'm buying my first spikes. Never had spikes before. On the tracks, what's the MINIMUM speed per mile I should be doing on the tracks so that they don't feel strange on my feet??
Hey G. I Don’t believe there really is a minimum speed per mile in my opinion. The dragonfly is very versatile and can be used in multiple purposes. They are one of my favorites spikes and of course I can also use regular running shoes on the track as well. The speed really depends on your training and how fast you usually run and I only use these if I’m doing some fast workout or sprints
Can’t wait for your comparison to victory.
Me too!

Great video but small correction,
The white one isn't the olympic colour, the olympic one is the white with orange and pink
Thank you!
Great review. Thanks man
No problem! Thank you!
Which should I get as a 1600 runner, victory or this???
I would say the victory if that’s your max distance. It’s a little faster with the carbon plate and air units and forces you to go fast. Little bit more aggressive than the dragonfly which is perfect for 5K and above.
Nice camerawork for the running shots! How did you do that? Some kind of stabilizer?
Thanks Les! no I just use the go pro which has built in stabilizer. I had a black 8 but am using 9 now.
@@RunWithJ You had someone else taking the video or yourself?
Myself with a selfie stick that extends
Should i get these as my first spikes? Im trying to do both medium distances and also sprinting and jumping. Multi purpose
Dragonfly is a wonderful spike and can be used for multiple purposes. Between the spikes if you only need one, I probably would get the dragonfly and not something that’s sprinting specific.
@@RunWithJ thanks!
If you still have these ajd they are a size 11.5 or 12, I want to buy them! Thank you!
Thanks for the review, they look like the spikes that will be best for me but I can’t find them in stock in size 7.5. Where would you recommend buying these from? Thanks
They sell fast but you have to keep an eye out. I would look at running warehouse. Nikes website and heartbreak hill stores
Ok, thank you

I think it’s disappointing that these spikes don’t have a carbon fiber plate
They have a plate though
they are designhed to be the best spikes. So if there is no carbon plate is means it was useless. They won't put a carbon plate juste for the sake of it.
It has Pebax, which is still very responsive and versatile compared to Carbon Fiber.
They would be way too harsh with a carbon fibre plate as the thin layer of ZoomX foam will bottom out too easily. Carbon plates work best with soft, thick and compressive foams IMO.
How come they have an orange top line but on the Nike website they don’t have one?
Are you referring to the design of these spikes Paco? These should be the same as the one on Nike. Maybe it’s just the video color.
@@RunWithJ yes, the top line on the midsole does not come on the website, asking abt it because it looks cool and I’m planning on buying a pair but it doesn’t seem to have it

The size of nike Dragonfly spikes is like a regular nike spickes or not?
They should be but I had to get .5 smaller to fit my feet better
@@RunWithJ so dragonfly size is 0.5 smaller than regular spickes?
For me it was since I wanted a more snug fit than my regular running shoes
En cierto que vienen amplios ?
Do these shoes work for cross country running on grass? Thx
Yes you can and I’ve seen it used for cross country with very light terrain but if it’s rocky or uneven it might destroy it pretty quick.’ Also these don’t come with the big pyramid spikes that help you dig in the ground.
Are they true to size?
They are but I went down .5 to get a more snug fit.
Can i use this spike for 100m?
Best spike for people with Achilles problems?
I think the dragonfly would be the best option as it has the most foam
@@RunWithJ how much mileage can you get out a pair
I would say 2 seasons. These are meant for racing only but you can train in them too which will wear them out quicker. You can see significant wear after a couple runs in them with the foam.
is it possible to sprint on these?
You can. Although they were intended for mid to long distance track races.
I want to buy these spikes from u sir pls tell me how i can contact u pls tell me sir i will pay for it
but can you run in them for like cross country, meaning in the woods and on grass and dirt?
Unfortunately i don’t think they are meant for that. The zoomx foam is too soft and they will be destroyed in x country. Any debris or rocks will tear it apart. Even on track it gets a beating after a few runs. Nike has the zoom victory XC spikes that would be better suited with plate as well.
Will these be good for 400m?
You can use it for 400m but it’s mens for longer distances. The air zoom victory and max fly would probably get you the most speed.
where can buy
In the US here I buy them on Nike.com and there’s also other sites. They still out as soon as they are released
