i have a 848evo with stock rear sachs suspension and bitubo cartridge in front and the bike handles on the street and track very stable and nice. last time i ran the dunlop gp racer tyres grip was okish and held 1.5days at the rear. have u found the causing problem??
At the start I had also OEM 1098 suspention, with the Ohlins cartrige in the front. Last year I switched to Ohlins from the S model. And yea I have found the cause of the problem, it was me 😅. I was loading the rear to much on hard acceleration just by sitting on the seat. Now that I lift my bum of the seat the weight on front and rear suspention is distributed evenly. Problem solved :D
nice riding! But to be honest, I would not ride that bike in that state. With this kind of wobble it seems like something is mechanically wrong. I would check wheel bearings, swingarm bearings, eccentric rearwheel, headset, fork mount, rear shock etc.. And triple check if all the spacers on the front wheel and swingarm are mounted correctly.
Hi Crimpz, thanks 😉 Hm, good point. But my whey of thinking is if there would be anything mechanically loos or had play it would be noticeable also at lower speeds 🤔 Thankfully now is winter and I can check everything...
That was cool! I ride a 1098 to, but only on trackdays. I noticed that its shakes a bit more than mine. I think you are riding a bit harder than me, but is that normal when the pace get a bit quicker?
Thanks Jonas! Yea the shaking and wobbling is for me currently the biggest issue and its holding me back to be faster. In the 2022 season I was unable to pinpoint the cause of this. I have setup the original Showa suspension, than replaced it with Ohlins, whad it setup by the mechanic on track but the issue still persists. I also tried to raise the rear, did not help. The 1098 is a bit specific as you already noticed, it dose not like to be handled rough. Some of the wobbles can be caused because of that, but not this particular one I think. The biggest issue is that I cannot accelerate with full power, when it shakes I have to reduce the throttle to calm the bike or accelerate in a higher gear. Currently I am currently running Pirelli slicks, next year I will tray the Dunlops. I assume that the Pirellis are the cause of this, because they have a much softer carcass compared to Dunlops. If that wont sole the issue then I will be an the end of my knowledge.
Not bad, and if there was no shimmy, there are no strong ones! Ducati Nr1👍
