Make sure you LIKE and SHARE the video so it can spread to more people :) Such genuinely good people and an incredible story. It was a pleasure to get a glimpse of the life at Ray's and share it with you all. Hope you guys enjoyed and if you are ever in the LA area show my guys some love over there. Next episode will be at BAR-A-BBQ in Montgomery, TX in a few weeks. Take care, y'all ✌️😁
Omg that’s close to where I live in Houston! Enjoy check out rosemary bbq in spring if you have a chance. They were on a texas monthly list recently. J Bar M in EaDo is also amazing.
@hakeemawbrey8571 I just heard about JBarM from the ramirez's actually lol Sebastian Raul and their whole family made a houston bbq trip right after we filmed this. They said Jbarm was one of their favorites!
Thats crazy coincidence !! It is so good and their space is just so beautiful. Houston is definitely getting a lot of the bbq spotlight now!@@AntsBBQCookout There's a big influx of vietnamese bbq pitmasters in houston like at The pit room, Khoi bbq, blood bros, and maybe me on day 👀 Maybe some great stories to tell in the future.
I love the direction you've been taking your channel with these documentaries. Judging by how fast you're channel is growing lately I'm thinking there's a lot of other people who feel the same. Keep up the great work! 👍
So inspiring. These dudes honoring their fathers legacy and overcoming his loss is something to be so proud of. Ant, you're helping people tell their story and it's a beautiful thing. Keep up the good work!
Spirit, pride and work ethic like this adds so much to the American landscape. This family will achieve everything they've worked for. So much Respect!
What an amazing story of the American dream! Much respect for these young men. Sorry for your loss, what a way to honor your father by building off the dream that he built. That’s his legacy ✊ when I get down to LA I’m definitely going to Rays 😊
Loved talking about the importance of family and how cool it was to be working with family with Ray and Sebastian whenever I'd go in for lunch with my dad. Couldn't be happier to see them get the recognition they deserve!
This should be on everyone's feed. Great story. This is exactly how a family restaurant should run. I wish these brothers and family nothing but the best. Great work ethic. Know for sure your father is proud of y'all.
Every Bbq documentary you keep putting out just keeps getting better than the last. Your way of capturing each story is so amazing! I would put your channel up to any doc that Vice, Eater or Munchies puts out! TV quality from a one man show!
Awesome people - so humble. Love how they recognize influence from other states bbq styles, yet use their own culture to make it all their own. Hope to get there one day.
Great content Ant 👊! This was a very encouraging and moving story. Beautiful working relationship with the brothers, mom, and honoring their father everyday.
This was beautifully done. Pretty awesome seeing how the family came together and with support from their community continues to honor Rene’s dream. Thank you for sharing this.
Excellent video and story of perseverance of these young men and their mother. Happy for their success and carrying on their fathers legacy! I'm gonna have to fly to LA to check them out one of these days. God Bless and keep smokin!
It never stops hurting brothers but with every bite from your customers your Dad's legacy will live on love that you three kept it going and can't wait to come try that amazing looking BBQ
Great interview Ant. I have seen these guys before on other channels and know their story. Really happy for them and really happy to see a variety of Oak there in Southern CA.
Absolutely loving your content. These documentary style videos are simply outstanding. I didn't even know about Ray's. I'm about 40 minutes away. I'm going to have to go check them out. If you ever make back to California again, you'll have to check out SmoKing Ribs in Garden Grove and soon to open Smoke Queen BBQ also in Garden Grove.
Staying true to the basics that built it while exploring their own tastes and expanding. I can't imagine their father would want anything more for them.
This is a Beautiful RUN business and I am sorry that your father is no longer part of a process that ONCE created this but keep up the GREAT work because people from all over admire what your family has created!!! :)-
Such an inspiring story! Man, I love what you do on your channel and I love seeing all the BBQ across the country. God bless, and keep doing what you are doing!
Another great video Ant, thank you for sharing this one.. If this video doesn't bring a tear to your eye while bringing a smile to your face as well, something is wrong with! Much love and props to this family!
Love how you show the humans behind the cook. No video is the same, but they're all so interesting. Plus I pick up cooking technique tips along the way. Keep going Ant you're on a roll!
Appreciate that! Next episode is at BAR-A. I was blown away at how amazing the food was but how short the line was. Can't wait to share them to you all!
Another exceptional video my dude! The more I watch these videos, the more I want to just go out and buy an offset and learn how to use that type of pit. Keep up this great work. My only criticism is that you can’t produce these videos faster but it’s always worth the wait!
I feel the same way when i shoot and edit these. Makes me want to go home and cook so bad lol I wish I could pump out more! But I want the quality to improve and I don't have an editor yet lol
Ant, Great inspiration story in bbq! I have heard of them. Looks great! Are you convinced by the quality of a J&R Smoker when compared to a traditional offset smoker? I just don’t see the same airflow. Of course, the other comparison is to the new M&M smoker you already featured. At least that rotates the food through the smoke. I’m curious to hear your thoughts! Keep up the great work!👍
You can't compare the JR or other cabinet smokers to offsets. They cook so differently. I think the offset brisket has been dialed in because of time and volume. I don't think the cabinet or rotisserie brisket has been perfected yet
You’ve done it again, Ant! Wow! What a touching story of the life of a close-knit family who persevered in their patriarch’s honor after losing him. Amazing on their part! What love! I was wondering where their father was as their story was told. That moment of the video where their loss of him was revealed was touching & honoring. Thank you for telling this family’s amazing story! May they know continued success!
Southern BBQ in LA? Oh hell yeah Im swinging in! Born and raised in So Cal but spent my whole adult life in North Carolina and Texas. All 3 of my homes in 1
Saying that us Texans just use post oak..... nope lol!!! It's very popular and most stores sell just that type of oak wood. But it's kinda a misconception. It depends on which part of Texas you go to. Oak is very well rounded, and it's extremely popular in central Texas. I'm in east Texas and I use the heck out of pecan wood. In my opinion pecan is the true Texas style due to the fact that pecan tree is our state tree. I can use that type of wood with anything. And most oak woods taste the same, but with extremely slight differences. But not bad CA.

The Cheerwi e took me back to my childhood in NC! Loving all things BBQ and cheer wine for sure! Looks amazing ❤

Yo smoke queen has a joint now! I'll hit her up next time I'm in town!
She's still working on it. Hopefully it'll be done before the year is over. She got her pits delivered already though and they are beauties.
This was such a wonderful story I pray that these young men and their mom would have so much success
