    Homemade Lathe Rails Part2
Hello TH-camr, today I’m glad to share my new second homemade lathes.
I do happy to make a bigger size because my first lathe the size is a bit small, when milling a big plate of thick metal is not easy because the length is not enough space to milling than the plate metal I used is thin most are 10 mm thick.
So I decided to make a new lathe bigger than the previous lathe. Now there is enough experience to make a new lathe also.
I hope you all enjoying my new lathe from part 1.

Your efforts are admirable and I am sure you will accomplish your goal. Keep up the good work. Your grinding stone has given me an idea for own project. Slow but steady will win the day!

looks ok but you can use a angle grinder, precision straight edge. oil paint and a dial indicator to get surfaces flat and parallel.

I'm glad you have the grind stone. I'm fully confident you will make something to give you the flat metal your looking for.

@@mr.ranyhomemade2466 after grinding it should produce a surface good enough for scraping the ways if your looking for a more accuracy over your first lathe. For flatness you can check with a dial indicator. Also you should look for a flat surface to check your work against with the indicator. Like a large piece of scrap metal that has been machined. That hot rolled carbon steel plate is far from flat.
