As an iRacer, I’m really looking forward to giving it a try. It seems like it has the potential to be a lot of fun
Same here, a more relaxed take on simraging (withoud going too casual) is what I would like to experience.
Really liking the driver safety rating. Maybe I won't have to dread the first turn in an MP race anymore.
Monza says hello!
I personally am a bit concerned about the car leveling system in the game. I feel like FM is putting a lot more busy work into a game that doesn't need it.
by "busy work" you mean a proper single player career that forces you to drive and race a car to upgrade it? Maybe I'm just old but I don't get the whole "give me everything right away" aspect of new games.
Don't worry. If you're any good at racing games in general. It will be super easy to level up your cars. AI is AI
@@DanDiMaggio"a proper single player career that forces you to drive and race a car to upgrade it"
Lol stop, its mindless grind.
These new changes they are implementing made more sense for Forza Horizon games, not Motorsport. Motorsport should have a bit more of a serious tone. It feels, obviously, they are money driven and want to appeal to a wider player base with some of these changes. But who knows, maybe it will be implemented well and liked by everyone/most. What matters more is that the cars feel more realistic to drive and have more weight to them and. As long as gameplay is solid I can ignore whatever cheesy upgrade systems they have in place.
@@DanDiMaggio I'm with this guy. You unlock parts as you go, Rather than grinding credits for parts and cars anyway. Same grind, different intentions.
And it certainly seems like a feature for players who have wanted more investment into single cars. As someone whos played since FM2, Cars have never felt more disposable then they do right now in the games.
I came up with a solution to having to commit the same effort to every car you want to upgrade and posted it in the suggestions hub. But it never got any traction. So it seems no one has a big enough issue with it to support a good solution.
60hz on pc? See ya!!
The entire sim racing community is out
Yes so exciting to test 60fps, have not had that since at least 10 years. Will be fun to have a feeling how games was in the past.
The fact Forza keeps primarily showing rear tracking cameras instead of cockpit views already tell us (the hardcore simmers), that they can't be trusted with being sim-focused. It's too close to Forza Horizon vs being closer to Flight Simulator...
I hope you're wrong lol. But It seems it's always when someone from their show case team is playing, meaning it's that person's preference, also it gives a wider view of the scenery.
Realism is what matters, Nurburgring too
It looks somewhat promising but no vr is a deal breaker for me personally
Purposely having the custom multiplayer missing 'standard' settings at launch, could be a good way to ensure players populate the ranked online multiplayer 🤔
As a sim racer, I’m exited.
I was starting to get a bit excited but 60fps lock in multiplayer - and potentially frame rate impacted physics in single player has lowered my expectations. I'll wait for reviews on single player to see if I want to give it a trial run (which I might just get a refund for anyway).
Man, I was hoping you had access and were able to slap a wheel on it.
So hyped for multiplayer races with legendaries, oldies & muscle cars.
Acc will stay my Gt4 racer of choice.
They probably used models from years past and "Upgraded" them, hopefully they also took like what will be the most popular/actual racecars and worked them up even more so we get a great experience on at least like 25 of the cars on launch day and maybe they add a handful of cars each month to the list.
Personally I'm happy to give up some ffb/physics fidelity in exchange for a larger player base.
Not sure where the right balance of the above is for me, but I want to be able to easily jump into a one-off race that isn't Monza or Spa most of the time.
These features look great, but still physics will matter the most when it comes to sim immersion, so I can't wait for someone to actually test them and tell us what they are like. I hope I will actually be able to feel something in ffb opposed to the horizon 5.
It will still be a simcade game so it will not feel like acc, iracing or rfactor 2.
@@Emerich2 yeah I am aware of that, but I just want at least decent ffb. In horizon 5 I barely could feel anything. I am used to acc ffb so that definitely made me feel huge difference but damn, in a title like motorsport it would be good to actually feel that for example the wheels are sliding.
Physics and force feedback are the 2 most important aspects when it comes to a sim.
is there first person?
Hey bro I've started a sim drifting/racing channel and as I watch your content, wanted to see if you had any advice or even time to collab or anything. Im also a disabled veteran and father as well
Im most certainly excited for Forza 8 man big time so much that i upgraded my whole sim rig from a Logitech g29 to a moza R5 with cs eheel moza hgp shifter a amazon/enay handbrake and may get the moza hbp massive and all the pedal mods for the sr p lite pedals all i really need to do is upgrade my cockpit it's going to be amazing the moza rig is insanely good i couldn't be more pleased with it and I'll be perfect for forza i know it works wonderfully and far exceeded my expectations i can only imagine how the high dollar moza gear performs
I also did the same upgraded from my G29 to Fanatec DD PRO GT wheel fanatec clubsport shifter and V3 pedals, what a difference the direct drive is compared to belt driven right?
@@Mr.dontPlay79 I want to go fanatec I just need to figure out that site.
single player doesn't really excite me due to the pick your grid position but hopefully that's either optional or rare, MP was my biggest excitement that just fell on its face with the 60fps lock..... like what... I'm guessing they tied some physics or something stupid into fps otherwise literally what difference does how fast my screen updates matter. 🤷♀ I have gamepass so ill try it, but not planning on buying it anymore unless it somehow wins me over
My Series X is ready! GP ftw!
Need a radar system for cockpit view
pretty crap that they had to limit the game to 60fps instead of building the game right to not allow fps to interact with the physics
The game isn't limited to 60FPS, it's just limited to 60FPS for online multiplayer to give everyone a level playing field so PC players don't get an advantage over console players.
@@conorturton so when you're racing in singleplayer you won't be driving with the 'right' 60 fps physics then?
there is no way in hell that they are limiting the fps without an underlying reason like the timer or physics being different just to match console fps
@graeme111 if that was the case then they'd have to limit it to 60FPS in single player too or it'd break the physics wouldn't it? Christ some people are dumb.
Great pre-release coverage! Any word on VR (PSVR2) Support? That's the "deal breaker" for me.....
Won't be released on PS5 I'm sure
Xbox. Not PS
VR is not supported! Hopefully that changes one day down the line (it is a gaas game after all) but sadly no VR
Im ready!
I think they might eventually change the 60 FPS limit, GT7 is a lot better at 120hz even though the image quality is not as good as it is at 60hz it's far smoother with better reaction times.
Cant really go back to 60 fps at gt7... feels like 30 when 60 got standart.
When you put 120 hz on Gt7 game is looking like Ps3 game so i stay with 60 hz
@@firstgengamer4443 thats a lie, lmao.even it vr looks incredible.
@@Joe.484 that is lie. GT7 in Vr looks almost the same like you put in 120HZ on normal screen...
@@firstgengamer4443 Nah not even close and I have GT5 - 6 on PS3 which only run at a acceptable FPS at 720p.
Ill pay for a single month of game pass to try it.
That 60 fps lock is a game breaker for me.
I'm looking forward to it, I want to drive the Lamborghini Essenza down the Mulsanne straight.
I can't wait for the 60fps cap, car models from FM4 or lower, Forza aero and still not being able to change the look of the exhaust.
*built from the ground up*
Do you think it's the same game?
@@thatparticulargame6001 ?
@@thatparticulargame6001 not really the same, but forza devs love recycling content and for example forza aero has been with us for ages, same for the wheel turning only 90 degrees and some car models. However, they still advertise the game as built from the ground up which is not really the truth in this case. I still hope physics will make up for this tho.
@@morko5150 It's not the same game, it's built from the ground up as said, that's why there are 20 tracks because they're all re-built from scratch with photogrammetry. 4k 60fps, more close to realistic physic. Imagine having them in more than 500 cars at the same time, it would be almost impossible as the one in the video said, and since you say about recycling, whether you like it or not, that's how it is.
Yeah, seems some basic sim like features are missing so I'm not getting excite yet tbh.
Love the safety aspect of the racing. Keeps the people that can't drive, out of lobbies. But 60 fps!!! Wtf! That makes zero sense.
Since they don't provide full FOV control, no real time telemetry output for motion rig or other telemetry devices, and now the internal clock FPS is limited in multiplayer mode... I'm not hold my breath... I'm going to stick with AMS2, IRacing...
probably still with 90 degree steering animation too.
How cAan a serious racing game not have qualifying in single player mode? That's actually close to a dealbreaker for me, and i've been anticipating this game for years. I don't want to set my starting position, i want to earn it by setting a blistering lap around the track. Or lose it by failing to do so.
I feel the same way about that.
Just start 24th and race to front
@@PATW0LF Nah. I've given the game loads of chances, but for some reason it just doesn't click with me. Disappointed. Lack of content, lack of tracks, lack of feel, no atmosphere... I'll give it a chance after a few updates.
For people complaining about fps...They locked it at 60fps because the game is crossplay xbox and pc and they want to keep a level playing field.
That's not because of the game being crossplay, it's because there driving PHYSICS are completely BROKEN.. and once again, they LIED to everyone!!!
".. BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP.." ahhahaahahahahhaah, LIARS!!!
There's not a single game that locks the multiplayer to 60 FPS, because in FORZA, the player with more Frames have an advantage in time from the players with less FPS, and that's simply a JOKE!
instead of they fixing the problem, they're locking the frame rate to 60 FPS on PC!
Not to mention the other bad problems with the game.. like 90º fake steering ratio, horrible force feedback, no in game MFD, ETC...
@vcggames7772 well I have gamepass and gonna give it a try with my G923 and I'll decide for myself if it's good or not 🤷🏽♂️
@@RayRiv73i'll give it a try with my Fanatec DD PRO as well.. but i think i'm going to be disappointed!
i miss Forza Motorsport 4 era
I love your videos
Do you think that driving simulators will become a gateway up to the high categories (F1, WEC etc ...) for those who economically cannot afford it?
The h pattern shifting is currently horrible… they make you shift super slow to the point where it is unplayable with an h pattern and a clutch. I really hope they change this because the rest of the game is great
Idk how some people can race in 3rd person not much of a sim at that point it feels to arcade style in 3rd person
lol did not know about the max 60 FPS lock on PC. I guess its not a game for sim racers. But most people dont own a wheel and pedals anyways.
I will stick to the allready exisitng sims then.
i got into sim racing cause of forza.. and then i discovered AC and that day i uninstalled forza and hasnt been on my system ever since that day.
how tiny is your hard drive?
its NOT small.. i just hate forza and any simcade for that matter lol i didnt know what i was missing til AC and then ACC and iRacng @@Parker--
this, we should never gatekeep people that plays simcade. It's their gateway to eventually drives real simracing.
yea brought me over and showed me what it is really all about@@kotarojujo2737
I'm still not sure if it will have 900 steering wheel animation.. Do you know?
I'd rather have 100 amazing well-built and fine tuned cars, than 500 cars with half of them sounding like crap with bad physics...
Agreed most of these cars will probably sound trash.
I just hope the physics is better than the fm7
I think the thing to remember about Turn 10 is it is a big studio and also works with PG on its games. So having 500 cars in the game could be good especially with there being 6 years since the last game. I'm really excited for the new game. I'm not a big sim racer as such but love racing games. I just got an Rog Ally and love F1 on it and can't wait to play FM on it.
Hello everyone, I am trying to set up a racing trim server. Through the custom manager, I found the option for real-life conditions, but I can't get them to work: by putting a night time, it still references the time set in the conditions tab. How can this be solved?
If they bring back the gift to friend feature where we can gift tunes and cars to friends then the game will be already better than the Xbox One generation games.
Pre order in
No, at least not me. I'm going to play it with a controller anyway. Playing it casually. When I'm simming and racing competitive, I will jump in my sim rig and hop into iRacing.
Imo it looks like garbage, they say you need a 4080+ nvme ssd for ultra at 60 fps.... Online only so it's basically unplayable most of the time as forza servers are located on the North Pole or something.
It's missing a lot of tracks, I really don't think it'll be good.
It’s on Game Pass and I already got Game Pass for Starfield, so why not 🤷🏻♂️
Sim-racer doesn't like arcade-sim. i don't think any sim-racer will play it too much, they probably do it just for fun. but i don't see big leagues and tournaments like the other arcade-sim GT7. Put on the cockpit a racer who only race on one of them on ACC and they will quit in 40 minutes.
If it gets triple monitor support I am in if not forget it.
same and not crappy as FH5, real triple screen support...Hope 🙏
No triple screen support, no more then 60fps. Skip!
On paper, if done right in a sim fashion, Forza Motorsport may send a lot of sim to retirement ACC, RF2, AMS2, RRRE. Iracing and even AC2 , Rennsport and GT revival...the advertised features seem to be the ones that sim racers always wanted and never got...the only one that theorically will be able to keep up is AC. That would be great if it could reunite all the players from the other sim...but that sound too good to be true or even possible...
lt won't though. As long as they keep the MP capped at 60fps, PC players (including myself) won't see it as the most attractive option.
Zero chance that will happen.
Remember that this is Forza. Just by their showcase in wording chosen when Chris spoke, vs their lack of adding a full field of new race cars and not even including the Nurburgring shows that this game is still not ready and that they are leaning on possible things like the physics to save the title. This brings me to the fear of the reality the release version will see:
1. All the content is half baked on the same level
2. Some of the content is done well and other parts are not (the less likely scenario)
They've had a full 6 years to work on the physics of those 500 cars, you don't think that was enough time to get all 500 cars done?
If the wheel in the first person mode does not turn more than 90 degrees to the left and right (visually that is) im not playing the game. it really kills the feeling of driving a sim if the wheel suddenly stops turning in the middle of a corner
from Gamescom Footage it looks llike it is more than 90 degrees but no official Statement.
@@HCPiet all thr trailers had the wheel locked at 180. Or at least it looked like that. I just dont want another forza horizon where they also didnt care about the wheel turning completely.
@@sickmit3481 yeah, even the crew motorfest have 450/900 degree steering animation now.
@@kotarojujo2737 it needs to be standard for racing games that can be played with a wheel.
If they are expecting a sim experience, no. If they are expecting a fun simcad game that seems to be getting more sim like, yes. I love everything from arcade racers to super sims. I cannot wait for this game.
No 60+ fps, no Nordschleife, no drag racing, no drifting. I wouldn't even call it an arcade racing game, it's pathetic, and so incredibly out of tune with what anyone wants. Just cancel the preorder bro.
@@brianracer6868 Not everyone wants to drift or drag race, and not having the Nordschleife isn’t that big of a deal. 60 FPS lock does seem bad though.
@@lieutenantgodzilla all due respect but Nordschleife is the most popular and iconic race track in the world, I haven't the slightest idea how you came to that conclusion.
@@brianracer6868don't forget online only and that the forza servers always so bad it took them nearly 2 years to make multiplayer actually work.
@@lieutenantgodzillaalso keep in mind they recommend a 4080 for those 60 fps, so atleast on pc it's looking like a terrible low effort port, best played on console.
Don't care bout the FPS Lock. Sure there will be some config "hacks" pretty soon ;)
Idk I played Forza 7 the other day with my wheel and all the cars are literally undriveable
I would love to see some car damage on the vehicles. I mean if there's a good accident, I want to see it really happen
165hz expensive monitor, hmm sounds like you have an Samsung Odyssey Ark as that is what I am rocking. But yeah FM does sound interesting, and I am sure I will be watching people like yourself for their reaction rather than just jumping straight in. Though I sincerely hope that they have a demo download on steam so I can see for myself before committing!
Lol you are saying it like that's the only monitor with these vague specs
@@MrWoldWide12 Never came across any other monitors with that spec. So while it may be that there are others I don't know about, don't take my comment to mean that. It was just a comment not an definitive statement☺
Demo they couldn't even be bother to give us a beta.
@@Lenron-B06 Well if they want people to jump straight in at launch it would be to their advantage. And though I don't expect it I'm always hoping🤞
Sadly no VR, which to me is inexcusable for a well-funded development house with a very long development time. Hope it turns out well, but I am unlikely to play it
There was some controversies with Forza Horizon, where some players found out that FPS influences game time, which is unfortunate in any game but quite deal-breakery for a racing game. Seems like Motorsports hasn't fixed the issue so that's forced 60hz for you. Nope nope nope won't buy.
Its not even arcade sim anymore, its just arcade, and what a joke it is. When I found out about that and that Nordschleife was not coming to the game it was a wrap for me. Preorder cancelled.
zeah. you could gain seconds in FH5 just by having higher fps. there are videos on yt explaining that
It's a hard pass for this. No point it coming out for pc if their isn't a benefit of capability.
@@brianracer6868 Forza HORIZON is the arcade version of Forza MOTORSPORT.
The physics are not only made more forgiving, but never as accurate as Motorsport because more emphasis is put on open world visuals.

Most probably if you dont expect anything from this title, IT MIGHT SURPRISE YOU, and also the inverted of that, EXPECT MUCH AND GET YOUR ASS HANDED TO YOU. Take the Red Pill Neo
As easy as it gets. I will sell my g920 if this game doesnt work up to it. I thought about getting a pc rig, but im not that serious of it. I still want a better wheel though
Support for triple screen not as crappy as FH5?!
500 cars with only difference by polygons?
For me, all the excitement immediately died off when I saw the system requirements.
My old PC isn't going to run it whatsoever, the CPU is half as good as the one specified on Steam, the GPU won't do it either, and I don't have money to buy new parts or an entirely new PC.
So buy a Xbox Series S or X and play it on that.
Well, they did say that it wasn't going to be on XBOne gen. I kind of expected it
Biggest thing for me is force feedback getting better, I haven't seen anything about it other than a list of supported wheels. Its the biggest downfall of FM7 in my opinion. I honestly think the FFB in the Horizon series is somehow better than FM7.
The Forza series, across both games, are made with the controller in mind first.
Unless it's changed for this iteration, I never expect good wheel support.
The horizon series has better FFB than FM7 for the simple fact that 2 horizon games came out in that time span.
The main problem for racing games is bad balance. I'm not really excited by GT7 balance in career, but It gives many interesting racing events. And I tried Motorsport 7 about a month ago, and it was a bad experience. I can't get a balanced difficulty. I had two ways: if I got the first place during the first lap, I had a big change to win the race. But if I can't get the first place during the first lap I can't get the first lap in 99% even there were 3-4 laps to win. I understand that AI can be really fast and kick my ass. But the right thing is give a chance to win and make interesting not only 1 lap out of 3-4 laps, but fight for the first place during 3-4 laps out of 4 laps. GT7 tried to make every race interesting by cheating AI balance. 1-2 top car have a really fast speed and player need 1-2-3 laps to get the first place, cos they are too fast. There were many strange situations when much more slower car with lower PP was faster on the straight, and it annoys. But it'm much better then get the first place during 1 lap and getting boring til the end.
I have never try a really super balanced career. I hope that Forza Motorsport will be more like GT7 than Forza Motorsport 7. I see the demo and I see a very fast AI. I can't see any possibility to be the first during 2 laps like in demo races. I'm affraid that AI will be too fast and there will be the same problem like if FM7. AI must be not very fast, it should competitive enough to let the racer win the game during the whole race.
They've addressed this issue.
Does it support triple monitors on pc?

So disappointed to see that most of the entry level and high end DD wheels that arent' fanatec or console compatible are all missing from the compatibility/supported list.
It comes across as so lack lustre when they leave out a very large proportion of the enthusiast and sim racer community. Hardware bias to Fanatec is BS, makes me feel like buying a Moza R5 was a complete waste of money.
We certainly hope for more wheelbases/wheels to be supported (maybe with patches)! - Rene
@@OverTake_gg it's more the fact that, take the Moza R5 as an example;
Moza is making huge waves in the entry level community with the R5 and it's becoming ever more popular. You can't say it's a product that's on the very fringes anymore as it's been making a lot of headway and has a moderately large user base these days. For a wheel that has a pretty big user base to be completely ignored and overlooked when adding support is just spitting in the face of its users.
Especially when you consider it's direct rival from fanatec, the CSL DD, which has been making waves for all the WRONG reasons gets native support right from the off. Nice to know that I can only get native support if I buy a wheel from the milking farm that is fanatec, that also has a multitude of design flaws and poor build quality, with even worse customer support to boot.
How does that make any sense?
@@HollisonHusky MOZA for sure deserves to be recognized especially in such a title. As you said already, they have a big user base already and especially in the entry level segment they are a force. - Rene

60 FPS Neeeeext.............
The answer is no. It's an arcade game, not a sim. But will look forward to the reviews from sim racers. I have a feeling it will be deemed an arcade game, not a sim.
There's definitely some red flags already. I'm cautiously optimistic only because I came into sim racing through FM3/4.
But between the Moza R3 and the fact I already own a XBSS it's really appealing because I don't know if I can afford an upgrade for PC AND a DD wheelbase.
Online only and recommending a 4080 for 60 fps ultra are definitely big red flags yeah.
Forza and simracing in the same sentence? Come on. 🙂 It will be a fun racing game but won't come close to real motorsports. It's like saying soldiers are to be trained in Call of Duty.
Finally somebody who gets it.. Forza is entry level for the masses.. people thinking that Forza will make an alternative to ACC or iRacing are delusional
Don't get too excited to soon. It only leads to heartbreaking disappointment. Don't tear your underwear getting your wallet out. The promotional releases could be misleading and lures to lesser products. Been there done that.
