    Terry wire up the wiper motor on the slow speed and you will get the drum to turn slower that will give you a better clean .10 sec one full turn.

      Hi mate, I do have the motor on slow speed. 12 seconds gives me just over 1 turn. I must admit it does look quick on the video. Thanks for the tip though mate, Terry.

    Another great video Terry really enjoyed it as always, rdf looks very professional you're doing a really wonderful job there, one piece of advice mate before you fit the 3" ball valve is to slacken the resistance of the handle so the handle turns nice and freely as they can be stiff to turn, if you don't know, the handle has notches which fit the face of the ball valve to turn the resistance to make it smoother or stiffer, simply lift the handle off mate. Take care buddy, Kev

      @alansmall9071 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 4” ball valve is about 8” x12” with a massive blue handle is a bit of a beast it’s great seeing the progress you’ve been making mines all dug out now and 12” concrete base with three bottom drains in and piped out just got the block work to do it’s around 4x3x1.8 meters around 20,000ltr my last pond was 7,500ltr so a bit of a step up 😊

    Yay he's back :D Very nice work on the new RDF looks really solid and shop made Terry, pity you can't get a few of these banged out and flogged, you'd be well in the money, if only you had 8 pairs of arms eh mate.
    Nice to see Aqua-man back hard at work in the pond, and yet still no slip ups or underwater action, damn it :D
    You gonna leave the sieve filter rework now then? you might as well, unless you can't get it off your mind and wan't to sort it before the beast from the east arrives, i say leave it until spring and you've rebuilt your health and body first ;)
    Take care mate, looking forward to the next one.

      I stopped walking the plank in case I fell in lol. Much safer standing in the pond. Not so far to fall lol.
      If we get some good weather I might do it this year, but it won't hurt if I leave it till next season. Like you say, I'll be a bit healthier. Thanks mate, Terry.

    Glad to see your well. Regarding the tank connectors, you say fit them either way. Is it not best to put the nut on the inside. Then you can completely disconnect the pipe work if you need to.

    • @Wrighty
      @Wrighty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate, I'm ok now thanks. It is best to fit them with the nut on the inside like you say. I was just trying to make the point that, as long as you put the rubber washer on the tank connector first, you can put it whichever way you like and it won't leak. I probably should have mentioned that. Thanks mate, Terry.

      Hi, I have my UV before the filter because my filters are pump fed and it's after the pump. If my filter was gravity fed and pump return, I would have it after the pump in the return. I do sell plans for filter builds on my website diypondfilters.com the RDF plans on my website are for the original RDF I built and not the one I'm building and testing at the moment. Hope this helps. Terry.

    Excellent progress on the RDF, Terry. Quite a professional looking build. Have you found the access door in the drum to be very much necessary, or could it be left out?

    • @Wrighty
      @Wrighty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate, Thank you. The access door on the drum is needed mate, to allow the fitting, locating and tightening of the drum fixing bolts. I suppose it could be done from the open end of the drum, but would be very difficult. Thanks, Terry.

    • @Wrighty
      @Wrighty  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mike, and thank you. Your very welcome mate. I have to get what I want pretty much sorted out in my head first, which can take a while and some sleepless nights lol. But once I have it pretty much sorted in my mind, I then draw it up to make sure everything fits and work out the exact measurements. As I'd built an RDF before, this one did not take too long. 3 or 4 days of drawing and changing things until it all fits. The first one took a lot longer. I would say the worst part of it all is finding parts that work and that's in every day use that everyone can get hold of. This is where the trial and error part comes in and it can get expensive. Thanks, Terry.
