idk why he sold his old boat though.. he had like a 16 foot console with more hp... maybe he wants to fish smaller waters but if ur going to travel 20 miles+ id get a console with hydraulic steering..
Until they break. I've been very stressed by boats. Far from shore with a broken throttle cable and another time with a broken steering cable. Big choppy Gulf waves. But yeah they're awesome when they work.
I had my heasphones on for this whole video. Amazing sound and image editing my dude. Between the music, sound of the watrer, the birds, and your cinematography it was super relaxing.
Bad ass little rig! Congrats! My home waters is a huge river system in the Low Country. I fish a very small boat and I get I the creeks where the other boats can't go. I slay the big Reds in those tiny creeks. Got a 35 in one last week. Your boat is ideal for those sort of missions!
@@trevojreal7 I have a 55 on my ten foot skiff and absolutely love it One 26 series battery last all day and not to mention it is the only propulsion on the boat and usually put about 10 miles on it a trip. It does just as well as my older 45 but I go faster in the same percentage of throttle due to bigger prop size. I will say it will break shear pins very easily since it uses the same size as some smaller trolling motors.
@@timprall5417 If it’s your only propulsion I’d say go bigger for you, 90% of the time I’m on the first or second speed while fishing though. The micro skiffs are all about stealth and shallow draft.
@@trevojreal7Oh, I understand now why you would think that. The new trolling motors are much more efficient and don't have speeds. I don't have to select a speed and can use it at any percentage of throttle. Perfect for fishing and no longer matters what size your motor is.
Looks like a well made little skiff. It would be tough to get used to something that small though. Scaled up to 17ft with a center console would be a sweet ride.
Awesome little boat. A lot of potential in it. Trolling motor would be a nice addition. Like to see you get a 100lb Tarpon in that thing. Suzuki is a great motor.
Last scene at the boat ramp, loading that thing.... brought back memories of me slipping and absolutely bustin my butt on the algae and getting soaked head to toe
Awesome looking boat Lawson looks like you b can really get into some back waters with it can't wait to see it in action. These boats are great for Duck hunting.
I jack down to 1/4 (normally run jacked all the way up) when running in chop. gives me a better angle to control the attitude of my bow to optimize cutting w the bow and skipping over chop
Vibes in this video are unreal. Sick work man. Definitely a trolling motor for that thing. Take some of that money from the hewes and slap one on there!
Not bad dude. The main thing, initially, is not to rev too high (wide open) but to create varying loads on the motor ---- not to "shock" any of the new (unworn) internals. You done fine with it. It does seem to be very stable actually. A push pole may be the thing but think I'd go to a "fitting" trolling motor; in a drift situation (and other various instances)... multi-tasking would def be easier. Be Safe
Check out Tillers Gone Wild on I.G. I have had only tiller steered boats. More room, better back trolling. My “windshield” is a good pair of goggles. That’s a great little skiff, cheers from Chicago!
Small word of advice , learn to pole that skiff back wards using your weight up front and the engine as the counter weight.. standing on your yeti as a platform .. It will help keep the bow down when your alone and you will be more mobile and just as quiet.. Great looking skiff , Tight Lines young man..
Used to have a 12' aluminum boat tricked out as a bass boat. Scariest little boat out there. Felt like it would tip at any second. A solid fiberglass boat like that though looks fun and stable
Lawson you need a trolling motor. I’ve been on many boats and skiffs that size And it’s always hard to fish unless you have a trolling motor or some push polling in the back
Sweet ride. Is that a Carbon Marine tiller extension? How long is it? Are you liking it at that length? I know they are sort of custom to the boat and user, but I'm considering one of these boats.
Run a contest on what will be the FIRST species you catch from the new boat. Still love your production value. I have to ask if you have done production before TH-cam.
LawDawg; Congrats on the new skiff,Looks like I'll be working harder to find fish now that your back on the river ,LOL JK.,.I had an 11 foot version of that it was cool but too small for me ,my balance ain't what it used to be ,,,But I'm still rockin the 16' aluminum... Best wishes with her,see you on the river Bro.
LEASH GOO HOPEFULLY NOW WITH THE BOAT WE CAN SEE THE BIG SNOOK SEAWALL VIDEOS THAT WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE

Need a nice trolling motor for the front of that skiff.

Really enjoyed the creative shots in this one. Especially that drone footage, wow!
Electric start option. For safety reasons, and pull start when needed.
Lithium ion bat, 55lb minn Kota terrova, micro anchor,18 ft push pole.... and your set
It would probably get up on plane, 55 is overkill, the whole boat weighs like 300 pounds. 36lb will run for 2 days.
