Thanks for the memories from a 70+ year old guy. I watched first hand the evolution of skiffs since the 50's, long before the 90's that you speak of. My grandfather fished Flamingo before it was a national park and the road was paved to Flamingo. My Dad was not as adventurous but I followed in my grandfathers footsteps. No GPS, cell phones, no electronics, hardly any reliable charts back then. Fished the back country up thru the creeks, etc, sometimes laying down and pulling the boat thru the mangrove channels, marking with orange tape, so you could find your way back when the tide started going back out, tasting the water as you went until it tasted fresh, then you started bass fishing. Incredible experience fishing that fine line of salt and fresh. I wish we had the camera equipment back then to record what you have done. Your narration and description of traversing the backcountry is extremely well done. When you describe those first few moments of putting the boat in, the wind at your face, the smells, the sounds or the lack of sound, as sometimes the silence is deadening back there, on those windless still days. Then again I am kinda glad I wasn't trying to record everything because it allowed me to fully become absorbed in the moment. Hope you take some trips without all your gear to enjoy. It is truly a priceless place that few people will ever see or even know exists.
Really enjoyed your film and feeling your passion and appreciation of simple blessing of the surroundings.Am 66 as of today and I was lucky enough to have a Dad that drove us from Atlantic Beack Fl to Flamigo many times in the 70's......also watched every Walkers Cay Chronicles dreaming of being in the Glades. Mayve around 1999 I saw my first Hells Bay Skiff and I thought then and still do that it would become a part of boating history. Thank you for a great morning enjoying your film!
The 16 whip and 17.8 whip pro are still the greatest boats ever made. Its amazing how they can still hold their own against these new boats with new technology. Nice work, what a great film!
I said this before but your content is THE best new inshore content on the tube. Wish I could do it to this level. Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously through you when I can’t fish!
Flip speaks….. I listen! Great video and storytelling! New to new treasure coast and the fishing here is phenomenal, I just need to do it more😊. Cheers
Awesome video and skiff!…I run a Willy Roberts 20 which is what a lot of the guides were running down there in the 70’s it really is cool to see how far these skiff builders have come!
@@christian_masterson Turkey Key. Went down there about a month ago and noticed how much all the islands have changed since last year with Milton and Helene coming through the area.
@@christian_masterson New Turkey has a better beach than Turkey right now. Turkey is completely covered in shells from the storms. You should have no issues with camping at New Turkey.
This is an awesome film! I know you really spend a lot of time making your videos, but you really made something special with this one. And your GF did a great job with her filming as well.
Awesome brother!! Im your red house guy..So glad you made thru alligator, did you take a look at Gopher? We use to run in to lostmans as well..crazy fishing!! Great video my man..Thx Christian..God Bless....
What a great video Chris. I expect to see you on TV soon. If I may ask, who makes the black "trunk" that you have your tackle/supplies in? Thank you for sharing your experiences! Keep em coming. 💯🎣
Been watching your videos for a while now always awesome stuff man. Question would you ever do like a catch clean and cook video? Like another species beside the backwater fish ofc
No glaze maybe a little but your vids are great very cinematic and awesome to watch you deserve more views and im sure that will happen, keep workin hard man I enjoy all the videos they get me hyped!
🌴 Hey Chris, what a great vid , I appreciate all the time and effort you put into your video’s, having great equipment makes for a quality day on the water and in your vid’s, the glades are amazing ! As for the weather , burrrrrrr, 😏 I had envisioned more bigger fish back in the ponds as it seemed like an ambush area but the cooler waters may of had something to do with that , I’m hoping we don’t get any snook kill off from the cold temperatures coming , still seeing red tide off Madeira beach , but the fish are still active and cooperating, can’t wait to see your upcoming vids 👍🏼
You should link the lures you use I would totally buy them, also lire give away👀, but seriously you content makes me so happy, I always feel like I’m there with you even with me living up north nowhere near you
Fantastic video brother. This video is absolutely why we love living here in the beautiful state of Florida. It's such a special special place, for many reasons. The true, REAL florida!! Brother let me ask you what kinda line were you using?? Not braid it seemed??
Be careful with that tiller extension I had one like that on my old gheenoe. One day it pulled off spun the boat out and almost crashed into a bridge. Carbon marine makes a good one that won’t pull off
Yea this one is custom. Cut down aluminum. Pretty sturdy. 300$ for a tiller handle is killer haha. So far it’s extremely sturdy and I double Check it every time I use it so should be alright. Thanks man

Love it, Going fishing/camping down in Chokoloskee this weekend.
Sounds great! I’ll be down there next weekend. Where are you camping?
@@christian_masterson Turkey Key. Went down there about a month ago and noticed how much all the islands have changed since last year with Milton and Helene coming through the area.
That’s hilarious. I was planning on doing new turkey key. How is the beach there? I’ll have a 4.5 high and a -0.8 low. Worried about boats a bit haha
@@christian_masterson New Turkey has a better beach than Turkey right now. Turkey is completely covered in shells from the storms. You should have no issues with camping at New Turkey.

It’s a yeti go box. Best decision I’ve made. When gulp juice spills u can wipe it up. A lot better then a bag
Thanks Chris.
Amazing film. Watching your skills improve with each release is awesome. Tight lines.
Glad you like them!
@@christian_mastersonbtw use some pledge polish to help release and stow the trolling motor.
Definitely could use some
