    I have a 2016 EX-L V6 6MT. It's a great car. Personally, I would have just kept looking for a manual. They are rare, but they make a huge difference in the fun factor of this car. I have the HFP kit on mine which improves the handling and overall look. Some people don't care for the HFP kit as it is expensive, but I negotiated it into the purchase price of my car at the dealer. I bought a 2016 last summer that had only 2400 miles on it. Perfect condition.

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eh, I'm almost 6 months in and still don't mind the automatic. Still fun as hell to drive, at least to me. Being in the 9G community I've also heard about a lot of tranny issues with the 6-6 so I didn't feel too bad about getting an automatic. As I explained briefly in the video, I wasn't really supposed to end up with this car in the first place, but the 6-6 I wanted to buy was clapped out and there were literally no other ones within 200 miles of my house.
      The long version of what happened is this:
      I looked for manuals for several days and found one (and only one), a white 2015 6-6. Went to go look at it. It wasn't detailed, was missing the wheel locks, and overall looked a bit rough but I was desperate and still wanted to buy it anyway (they also were selling it for a good price). That day, the dealership put me in a loaner car, took my old car in on trade and my $2400 down payment. Said the car would be ready to pick up in a few days so I went home satisfied.
      A few days went by and I got no update on the status of the car. I called in and they said that the car now had to be made CPO and wouldn't say why, and was demanding an additional $3K up front. I later found out it was because they yoyo financed me and were having trouble getting me approved for the relatively high loan amount. I have decent credit so I found this weird (I later learned about loan-to-value ratios). After a couple more days of back and forth, I went back to the dealer in person and asked what the fuck was going on. Not getting a straight answer, and becoming fed up with the entire situation, I looked on their lot and saw a few brand new 17 V6 automatic Coupes left and said I would take one of those instead. That's how I ended up with the car I have now. About 5 minutes after I signed the papers for this car, they told me the previous owner of the white one traded it in because the transmission was grinding and he was having issues with the clutch, and they were going to auction the car before I walked in asking to see it. Moral of the story? Some dealerships are shady as fuck. They had me by the balls though so that's why I still bought a car from them.
      The salesman that put me through all of that shit actually called me the next day to apologize and sent me a postcard with another apology a month later. I pretty much ignored both bc fuck him.
      I actually just had the HFP suspension installed last week. Car looks and handles noticeably better now. I'm not really a fan of the body kit tbh.

    I was about to comment about getting a cold air intake but you literally said it right as soon as i started typing. Beautiful car, lots of power and reliability out of that v6. Shame they're killing it off. Wish they made the AWD v6 Crosstour with a 6 speed, that'd be a dream car for me lol. Anyways hope you enjoy it, sure you'll probably wind up missing the 6 speed, but Honda autos are really nice and they shift pretty damn smooth and quick.

      @accordinglyryan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'm really sad about them killing it, but hey I got the last one I could lol. And now I can drive it for a couple decades. I do miss the manual a little but yeah this automatic is very good.

    I notice that V6 accord coupes are a little bit louder than the V6 sedan, and both the sedan and coupe have a 5k rpm rev limiter but the rev limiter on the coupe sounds different 🤔

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only coupe that's different from the sedan powertrain wise is the 6 speed manual V6. That version of the J35 doesn't have VCM and VTEC engagement is slightly lower (4400 vs 5150rpm on the auto). The AT V6 coupe and sedan are identical

      The car has 18,000 miles on it now and I'm quite alright with the transmission. I don't really miss the manual all that much, car is still plenty of fun. The only small complaint I have with it is I wish the paddle shifters would respond faster; there's this sort of half-second latency between flicking the paddle and the car actually shifting gears. Other than that though, I have no qualms. It's a pretty good automatic transmission, and it has what Honda calls Grade Logic Control, so 90% of the time it isn't gear-hunting while going up and down hills and such. Wouldn't have any problem recommending it.

      Well, the original dealer that PDI'd the car (In September 2016) wasn't the one that I bought it from, and was about 210 miles away...so I figure once they purchased the car from the original dealer they just drove it back. We do that at my dealership all the time.

    Why did you get a new car?

    • @accordinglyryan
      @accordinglyryan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because this was my last chance to get a V6 coupe and I hated the color of my previous car after a while.

      Nowhere lol. They're not available anywhere anymore as far as I can tell. I smacked a curb a couple years ago and tried to find a replacement with no luck. But they are Axis Sport XQ wheels

      @accordinglyryan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd rather not say exactly but I got $2,000 off MSRP on the car itself. Considerably more with my rolled over negative equity and interest lol. I did get a good rate through Honda though (1.9%)
