    Very Nice, I have a 11' EX-L V6 auto coupe and I love it. Was fortunate to find mine in great condition with 59,000 miles on it. It drives like a new car after a little bit of maintenance and has served me well. I'm more partial to the 8th gens due to the simple screen interior but I've driven a few 4cyl 9th gen sedans (even learned to drive in one) and they where all decent cars if they where taken care of. Definitely going to push mine as long as I can. It's a great road trip car and the backseats barely get used anyways so owning a 2 door is no issue for me.

    Thanks, enjoyed the video. I am a longtime fan of Honda, we've owned five over the years. Presently driving a 2016 Accord EX-L V6 that I purchased new.... mileage to date (03/21/22) 23,400. I agree with everything you've mentioned, with the exception of engine switching from 3 cylinders to 6 cylinders at low to high speed ~ it is my understanding that the switching occurs during Interstate travel... once highway speed is accomplished and acceleration is level, the engine reduces from 6 cylinders to 3 cylinders in order to maximize MPG. BTW: As with most cars, my Accord has a sweet-spot @ 83 mph. Of course I always consider road & traffic conditions. Wishing you happy motoring

    I'm curious if you've noticed the transmission shifting rougher as the years go on. I own a fleet of Honda's, and I've noticed that although the Engine Mounts have been engineered to withstand the excess vibration caused by VCM, the Trans Mounts have not received the same engineering attention.
    There's 2 Trans Mounts, and the Lower/Rear Mount wears out by 130k-150k mi in my experience - I'm curious if you're able to feel/see it happening, or if Honda fixed that. It eventually develops into CV Axles getting bowed out and a vibration on acceleration between 25-45-65mph.

    • @MrKaiKai
      @MrKaiKai  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not notice any vibrations, at any speed. I did drive the car hard almost every day. I did notice the car shifted funny near the times to change the transmission fluid. (funny as in slipped and grabbed differently) curious about the motor mounts costs. I have owned a few Honda's, but this one holds a special place in my heart. but at the rate I drive it will be many years to see that type of mileage, you must be enjoying the ride.

    • @scottymonochrome3795

      @@MrKaiKai I've got 300k+ mi on a Civic, another 300k mi between two Accords. And those are just the daily drivers!
      If you own a floor jack and a piece of softer wood (most 2x4), you can replace mounts yourself. The Trans Mounts are like $10-$15 a piece, the Engine Mounts can run $35-$45. 2x Trans Mount + 3x Engine Mount = ~$165 in Parts for all 5 mounts. 5hrs labor should easily cover that, and I'm being generous. Let's say labor is $80/hr.

      I washed mine as often as possible usually every week. Kept it covered as much as possible out of the sun. Change the oil often and opt for better oil and don’t let the tires get old. When buying look for original owner and pay more for low miles. It is a great car. Sad they did not make a comparable replacement yet.

      @@pipedreams6946 I bought it new and discovered there are 3 identical v6 silver coupes of the same gen on Oahu, mine which I have seen a few times in Aiea since I sold it, has been driven by a young Man, that looks like he is in the military. I did not want to sell the car as I saved for 3 years to buy my first brand new car and so it had to be perfect, which it was. but I did not like taking it to the beach so I bought a Cheap truck, the black on in the video, so I could keep the Honda clean, I am single dad and when my son was almost 3 people saw how I waving him climb into the back and they made fun of me so I purchased a baby mercedes GLA, thought life was perfect. Beach Truck, soccer dad car and my responsible honda which is very sporty. but then I went to a Porsche racing event and got bit by that bug and so I asked the Porsche of Hawaii dealer about cars and by luck I meet the old timer sales guy who knows everyone and said if you wait a few months I will have the perfect car for you, which turned out to be the white Porsche, so for about a month I had 4 cars so one had to go. I listed the honda everwhere for 20k and then lowering the price by 1k per week until it sold. and still no one was interest than the manager at the volkswagen dealer by the airport called me and said they would buy it for 14k which made me very sad. I sold it for 14k for the 2015 Honda with 52k miles back in the begining of 2020. on this video which is about 2 years after I sold it I drove past it and got a clip of the old honda and it still looks good! th-cam.com/video/bpt_hVrGm74/w-d-xo.html

    • @MrKaiKai
      @MrKaiKai  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      timing belts lighter and less resistance which gives the car more power which is why most racing engines use a belt. the belt is also good for 90k miles and usually around that time you change plugs and water pump so, yea its a painful expense but it is worth it for the long term.

    • @MrKaiKai
      @MrKaiKai  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sound system is actually really good. The ex-V6 has a 7 channel sound system with a dedicated 8 inch sub. With the noise canceling feature to remove engine sound at low rpm. So the car is very quiet going down the road.One of the better factory sounds systems out there. It’s not Bose, but it really good. I normally loaded all my music on a mini usb stick and it was easy to browse and play music while keeping hands on the wheel. But it’s not a good car to upgrade the sound system, as it’s built into a lot of stuff. I feel I am an auto audio snob and the sound system made me happy. In fact it’s much better than the upgraded Harmon Kardon in my Mercedes.
