- We're at Fort William for the first round of the downhill World Cup. With a long off-season behind us, there are many new bikes and tech. Most notable is the Martin Maes' non-ebike ebike, the Rockshox Foxxer and a tweaked rear end on the Commencal Supreme of Amaury Pierron.

I think it means nothing that the Pivot prototype broke. If a production bike breaks, that's a completely different thing.
Exactly. It meant a bit to Bernard obvs. (OUCH!) but not indicative of the brand or their production bikes...it was a prototype being tested IRL. Shit happens sometimes. Anyone who says anything else is being dumb.
And production frames crack a lot, but nobody talks about that
My riding group consisting of 10 amateur riders breaks ~1 production frame per season.
You never see factory riders break frames, because their mechanics inspect the bikes daily and replace them at the first sign of a crack.
can you just stop it with this.... go to the track in person, see the size of what he cased and you will realise... any bike would have broken

You can probably go to any Car Shop that installs custom rims and ask to buy some stick on wheel balancing weights, which pretty much what those weights on the bike are

The Kenda Prototype tire looks just like my Kenda Hellkat gravity compound tire. Most likely revisions for DH applications to evolve the brand. 👍

This was a good segment.. As a YT rider myself im stoked to see Vali Hoel on a YT, also her bike is pretty nice! Gotta say a return of Boxxer WC gold stanchions would be sick! .. I'm stoked to see how Jess Blewitt goes on the Cube.. Now i may be biased but I'm really looking forward to see how well the Zerode does, piloted by Blenky & Taylor Vernon, that bike looks absolutely gorgeous & i was hoping yad include it here..

Fair play on the monologue about the Pivot failure , but we wouldn't be making that case if Bernard was seriously injured. I'm all for bike companies taking technical risks and prototyping, but not at the cost of safety. Any frame failure, whether on a pro, or an average joe is just as bad as a helmet failure in my eyes.
Rock shox fork will cause heart attacks at Fox factory. So beautifull and race look! I bet that the orbea has a gear box 👍
Them weights you can buy online easily enough the Crosshatch pattern is there to give a custom fit round bends! I've a few sheets never used had them couple year's now can actually make them same way as fishing weight's and add double-sided tape to the back one the led is scored

I think that's a good thing, as long as prices are kept somewhat acceptable. One of the great things about the sport is anybody can get what the pros ride. I hope we don't lose that.

@@wyattrogers8689 with a few sales and skipping on carbon bits, sticking to GX and generally saving on stuff that doesn't matter, I still managed to put together a pretty much pro level DH bike for 6k euros. A lot, but acceptable. Sure, there are bikes for double that.

UDH on the new tues is different too, maybe sram is doing t-type DH drivetrain in the future
It does make sense on dh bikes more than anything else, T Type is marketed towards durability
They gotta start making rear shock linkage covers so my rear shock stays as clean as these guys. Specialized with a hard shell!
Kenda Prototype 9 is a WTB Vigilante and it precedes Schwalbe Magic Mary by many years even.

You know that zoom forks or chinese forks look like this because that’s how RS and Fox forks looked 15 years ago? :P So for some that’s actually a nice throwback.
Cube - the bikes are faster and preferred with a floating brake calliper but the production frame won’t have it???
