PLEASE NOTE: The UK government have announced an increase in fees from 4 October 2023. We discuss this in this article which we update on the first or second day of each month: www.migrate.org.uk/fiance-visa-uk-fees-cost/
This video came a little late for me as I applied and had my biometric appointment on 5/28/23. I received my passport on 7/11/23. It was approved! It was much faster than I ever expected. I wanted to say thanks! I read and studied EVERYTHING posted on the Migrate website regarding fiance visas. The information was invaluable! I did EXACTLY what was suggested and a little more. My mind was put at ease for the most part! I know this video will be helpful for a lot of people-especially visual learners! I want to add that my application was relatively easy but I would recommend an immigration lawyer if your case is more complicated. I didn't need a TB test or English exam results. I also don't have children or anything financially complicated. Thanks again!
Hi @gabby8568, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this lovely comment. It is much appreciated. All the best to you both and your lives in the UK together. Kind regards, The Migrate.org.uk team.
Hi i received this email on Tuesday Thank you for your online application which has been received at the UK Decision Making Centre. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer. PLEASE NOTE: This email is to acknowledge receipt of your Settlement application, if you or your sponsor have not already submitted supporting documentation please ensure you follow the process listed below: UKVI is unable to consider your application without these documents. Please ensure that your supporting documents are submitted within 5 working days of this email.
Hi @mandeepgill7789, We discuss this at 11:12 of the video. In short, if you've already submitted the documents, there is nothing further that you need to do. Kind regards, The Migrate.org.uk team.
This is an extremely helpful guide thank you! Are there any videos concerning documentation specifically? For example what needs to be done for a foreign divorce document to be recognised for a UK Fiance Visa Application?
Thank you so much for your video. It was extremely helpful! I was wondering, when they ask 'what do they earn' are they referring to the monthly income or the annual income? for example, my montly income changes a bit every month but my annual income is still the same. What should i answer in this situation? thank you!!
Hello, thanks for your video. I found it very informative. Me and my partner are planning to apply for the Fiance Visa soon. I was wondering, once the application has been submitted and we are waiting on a decision., can my partner travel to UK to visit me with a normal return ticket (She is a EU resident and she does not need any visa to visit uk..)? Thank you very much. Best, Mattia
Hi! Thankyou for all your videos we are finding them very helpful. One question we had was regarding how can we provide proof that we are intending to marry. we have a letter from the vicar of my local parish in UK, but is there any stronger evidence we can submit in our appliaction, Thankyou in advance!
Hi @jamessawyer2214, I'm glad that you are finding the videos helpful. That would be an example of a document that would typically suffice. Another example which would ordinarily suffice is email correspondence with the local register office in the UK regarding giving notice. I hope the above helps. Kind regards, The Migrate.org.uk team.
Hi me and my fiance are thinking on applying for a fiance visa , the only thing i proposed her in the airport before the flight and we didnt take pictures of that will thst be a problem? We have met in person and have photos of use together ss eell as chsts thx
Hey, great video! quick question. If using the complete cash savings route (62,500) to satisfy the financial requirement for the Fiance visa, if an account is held jointly by the applicant and a person who is not the sponsor (like the applicant's mother/father) will the home office accept this account?
Hi @blockstopper6750, Paragraph 11(a) of Appendix FM-SE requires that the personal bank statements are "in the name of the person or of the person and their partner jointly throughout the period of 6 months prior to the date of application". In other words, this can be read as "the personal bank statements must be in the name of the applicant/sponsor or the applicant and sponsor jointly". In light of this, it is open for the Home Office caseworker to not permit the cash savings from an account that is jointly held by the applicant and someone who is not the sponsor. I am sorry that the above is not what you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps. Kind regards, The Migrate.org.uk team.
I believe the way around it is for the cash to be transferred to an account that's in the name of the applicant. In that case, the money would have to stay in the applicant's account for 6 months before you can apply. While many parents would want to help, I can see why that won't be the perfect solution and may cause some tension in the family. Good luck!
Such a great and informative video! If the applicant's home country does not have a Visa Application Centre and they have to travel to a neighbouring country. Do they have to submit their passport at the biometric appointment? If so, how will they return across the border after the Biometric appointment? My fiancé is from Syria and therefore will have to visit Beirut, Lebanon or Amman, Jordan for her biometric appointment. Many Thanks
Hi @uditbharadwaj7326, I am glad that you find the video helpful. In that specific situation, whilst the applicant must bring their passport with them to the appointment, the applicant will normally keep their passport so that they can return to their home country. All the best with your application. Kind regards, The Migrate.org.uk team.
Thanks for this video really helpful. Can the sponsor and the dependent leave the Uk to get married in their home country after being in the Uk on the fiancé visa and then return to apply for the spousal visa? Would need your help with this.
Me and my boyfriend(british) both working in the middle east. I just want to check if ifs possible to apply here while we are working. We have employment income + savings around 60,000 pounds combined. Please advise if we can proceed the application, even he doesn’t have offer letter in UK. We will just move there once i got approved and he will start looking for a job. Thank you in advance
Thank you for the very Informative video...My husband is planning to apply for a spouse visa..for me to come To UK.. can I ask if I can do the biometric, English Test and TB test prior to the application?.. thank you ♥️♥️
Hi @nelyamdiego3629, You are most welcome! You should pass the Secure English Language Test (SELT) and obtain the TB test certificate prior to submitting the application - if they are required. The biometrics, on the other hand, can only be provided after submitting the application. I hope the above helps. Kind regards, The Migrate.org.uk team.

hi! i just want to clarify my fiancée’s income is 23k only, im currently working from the philippines remotely for a US company and I want to keep my work even when i live in uk, does my income count in the combined savings?
Hi ik applying for my partners fiance visa application but theres 1 requirement that gets me confused, it says that i must show evidence of intent to marry but the local registrar office wont give a notice to marry if my partner isnt here in the first place living with me in the UK for at least 9 days . What gives? How in the heck can i show evidence then?
Hey I am replying 8 months later but if it helps, I came across the same issue, when I emailed the registery office directly they said no that isn't the case. They said book it on the council website, just to be clear the purpose of "intent to marry" It is essentially an appointment with the registry office to provide them with all your documents. E.g passport and I believe a passport sized phone and yes your partner would need to be there. You are just booking an appointment and you will get the confirmation in an email, you save the email as a PDF file and give that to your lawyer or if you are submitting the documents yourself you would upload yourself.
@@mduckod992 thank you so much for replying and I wanted to ask one more thing. As far I know there was no IHS fee for fiancé visa but now is it mandatory? Cuz there is payment option and I can’t move further my application without paying that and if I pay that now do I have to pay IHS fee again while switching to spouse visa? Or it will be okay with the same fee?? Waiting pls @ migrateorguk
My girlfriend is in Columbia I would like to marry her what would be the total cost involved in all of this? Oddly I was asked to provide documents which I had already provided via VFS, either way I sent the multiple documents in a zip file, is this ok?
