Not only did they learn all the Kevin's serve, they also learnt that they shouldn't stand too upfront upon receiving Kevin's serve (or now anyone in that matter). He surely did change the trend of badminton double plays. Yes, it's him. Kevin did that.

Shuttle Flash. You are my man (or woman) :-) Now, let's talk about service number 2 2:52. Slicing the shuttle underneath the base will make it tumble, so it descents faster than hitting it straight, as it tumbles around the side way axis. This is what everyone does besides Sukamuljo and now also Gideon. They slice it underneath and sideways which make the shuttle tumble around the side way axis and the forward axis and make it go crazy :-) They have revolutionized the low service. We see opponents complain. If you can't beat them, join them. Hopefully, we will see more players serve like this in the future.
We've already seen Lee Yong Dae serve like this before. The problem is that the random tumbling also leads to randomness in the trajectory of the shuttle, and as such you have a risk of a) serving short or b) your serve being easily killed when it goes too high or tumbles in a fashion that allows a controlled return. It's a cool tool to have in your arsenal for occasional use, though, to surprise and throw off opponents when they start getting used to your low serve.
Well, in my personal opinion, it's not possible to get it really consistent, as you WANT randomness as part of what makes this serve so strong, but you can certainly work on it to make it a bit less random in certain aspects. Getting it long enough, for example, by playing it quite a bit harder than a normal serve - doesn't really matter with this one if it lands on the line or 20cm longer, as it doesn't need to be quite as tight....still, I dont really see that you could use this consistently and not either make errors yourself or get punished for the odd one that just sits still and high above the net :D The surprise factor certainly plays a role in why this is a strong serve, taking it away makes it actually a tad weaker than a strong normal short serve, imop. Maybe you can experiment a bit with it yourself, but I haven't managed to get it really good and consistent enough to use it as anything other than a surprise...
The tumble of the shuttle is random. If you dont see that, okay, but that doesn't change the fact that it is, as far as we are able to predict with current scientific methods, random - just like the tumbling of a falling leaf. Yes, in a very strict sense it is not really random, but as we are unable to correctly identify, quantify and predict all factors going into the movement equation, it is, for all intents and purposes, random. KSS and LYD were both able to get it somewhat consistent, but if you go back and watch LYD use this serve, for example (he used it more often than KSS, allowing for better observation as larger numbers mean a closer approximation of the mean with random events), you will see that sometimes due to the random nature of the tumble, it will pop up almost still above the net, as it stabilizes for a brief moment - and that can result in an easy kill. You can practice this serve, and get it more consistent, yes. The fact remains that the tumble is random and may result in a disadvantage for the server, especially if the receiver expects this particular serve.
Adapt or die friends!! It's very simple to learn a variety of legal serves and adds to the strategy and deception which makes it such an exciting game. In table tennis you cannot impart spin on the ball on serving and some would argue that is unfair but it detracts from the essence of the game and gives an unfair advantage to someone who "can't play" but has a great spin-serve. The flick serve is NOT a game-changer and even average players adapted and learned it quickly.
Many players disputed/resisted the rule change in 2018 and some were tall Danes who previously decidedly had a rib-height advantage thus allowing a flatter faster serve (the drive serve.)
The second one. How possibly he can do that ??!! I've tried to make the shuttle rotates, even I couldn't imagine it rotates perfectly by Kevin !!! That one SUKAMULJO !!!
@@FlashGamer521 Also depends on your strings. My friend could do it a bit with his strings that had a different type of surface. But mostly it was just making a plastic shuttle do a corkscrew motion.

for starters stop questioning others if they have a BWF License for god's sake (well I do) See the faces of players Kevin/Gideon played against when they do the flick serve. Way above the bottom waistline (old rule), as these videos are from before 2018. You should see the video (can be seen also from Shuttle Flash) of service faults called against Chen Long as he tucked his shirt in. Compare that to Kevin/Gideon. And also the service judge is just a role assigned to judges, not a particular license of 'Service Judge'. I agree that flick serve is a perfect serve, but how often do you see other double pairs use the flick serve, and why is that? You don't need special training to understand rules. You PLAY and ENJOY badminton to understand why rules are there, so that it does not create disadvantages.

There is no "second serve" except in tennis :-D unless you mean the "K" or tumbling serve which will be short unless you practice a self-explanatory serve. (Just chop it.)
Yes, his serve is good. BUT, there are multiple videos of him serving (before the service rule was changed to the 115cm rule) illegally WAY too high and getting away with it. (For example: at 3:10 you can clearly see that the moment of impact the shuttle is WAY above his lowest rib) So quite often the opponents were right to complain.
People tend to put too much focus on his serve but he is a very well rounded player, his offense is amazing esp his backhand spinning smash and his defense isn't shabby either,...
The most creative thing about his serve in low serve is that he brush the shuttle so the shuttle spin crazily near the net that make the opponent cant quickly intercept the shuttle
Nah it's fairly easy. Gideon: should be faulted 90-100% of the time under old rules (almost scratches his chin with his racket with how high he serves). Kevin: about 90% faults on the tumbling serve (too high, racket not pointing downwards sometimes too), almost no faults other than that.
Wowwww. What's your problem, man :D Are you that insecure, that calling into question the serves of your favorite MD pair makes you that mad? I feel bad for you, seriously. Side point - why would only fans of Chinese pairs want fair competition? I'm actually not a fan of any current Chinese pairing. Sorry to disappoint.
Yeah maybe, on the other hand you could grow a pair of balls and just freaking fault them (Gideon especially) when they start serving at shoulder level again. It's not like you'll need to fault them every time theyre a millimeter too high - but when they're like 15cm too high, do it. Regardless how often it happens. How else will they learn..... But it's all in the past (for now), my guess is just that they'll all play the 'raise the shuttle just before you strike it' game again very soon and that serving will turn into the same shitshow it's been for the last 6 years or so.

I Play Badminton at least twice a week and sometimes learn Flick Service. Do you know what? It's Really Hard, you need to find the contact point and little bit power to push shuutlecok to the backline. I think Kevin learn this trickshot hundred times to make his special shot.
one more problem with the serves of kevin sanjaya sukamuljo is also that he serves a bit late.. Ideally you are supposed to serve within the fist five seconds of when you get into the position and not play dirty to serve when the player has lost his focus due to the idea of maintaining his eye on your shuttle as you know, this is a very fast sport and thus, deception can easily be made using these things and an undue advantage can be taken. As you can see in the video.. from 2:41 Kevin stands into the position at 2:42 and serves at 2:48 which makes it 6 seconds and the opponent has lost focus due to delay in serve but the judge missed that and Kevin was given the point which is actually wrong here.

As you can see in the video.. from 2:41
Kevin stands into the position at 2:42 and serves at 2:48 which makes it 6 seconds and the opponent has lost focus due to delay in serve but the judge missed that and Kevin was given the point which is actually wrong here.
Lol they are two different matches see his shirt he won't serve too late like boe
I really want to learn the Kevin Serve so that I can do it during tournaments.
Sukamuljo Tumble Serve. Already a legend. Miss them much.
The punch serve was used long before kevin was well known...but thumbs up👍
Only shuttle flash who make kevin videos always the best.
@@wingsgamingfans5850 jealousy malon people, you're jealous ur player didn't have any video in this channel? just lcw😂
then make a channel and made a lot of video abour ur player.
When your opponent copy cat your serve, then you become the legend...kevin legend
in moto GP Valentino Rossi use a foot technique for turning. they said it was illegal and dangerous. later, everybody does that. its the same case with Kevin's service, when the time comes, eventually everyone gonna do the same.
been incorporating the flick serve in my games lately. i only use it if theyre far too far at the front though. Ive tricked quite a bunch lately. Kevin is a true genius.
Ginting and Kevin are the fastest players of Badminton ever.
By rules, you can not change the direction of the racket when you feed (right, left).
And he serves above the waist.
There is now 1.15 m above the floor rule. Waist line is now superseded.
Look at 3:24. He lifts his racket hand (and racket) just before hitting the shuttle. How is this legal? Service judges are not picking up on it as I believe they're too focused on the starting point of the racket head and not the contact point!
is it illegal to spin the shuttle during a serve? some say it is, some say it isn't and kevin gets away with it
it is legal. lyd was actually doing it before kevin, you can see the match between lyd/yys vs boe/mog in dubai 2014.
As long as you don't hit the feather then it is legal
galsz thanks
EpicWarTime thanks
How do you make it spin?? I'm having a hard time and the shuttle keep moving the same way as I always serve
It's amazing technique serve and it's a legal .... Bravo Kevin and Indonesia ....
I wonder if Kevin were given those services, what would his reaction/defense be?
But, in fact, no one do it.... 😁
He is so fast, that's why there's no serve would really deceive him wkwkwk
Udah pernah, tapi siapa ya yg ngasih lupa wkwkwk
Iya justru pertama kali dia servisnya normal, ketemu ama Lee Yong Dae di tahun 2015 kalo ga salah,LYD servis kaya gitu, Kevin gak bisa balikin, Kevin protes ke wasit itu ga fault? kta wasit itu legal, akhirnya dia ampe skrng pake serve tumbling itu
Love 3rd service i am frequently do this my friends hipper with me
😅
Kevin is the master of serving.
ini adalah bakat alami seorang olahragawan ..
dan yg seperti ini jarang sekali muncul dan hanya beberapa puluh tahun sekali
03:09 - 03:10 (OLD RULE) If this is not a fault, you guys are blind! He litterally swang the racket at his chest height
The best player in the world.
Kevin says "See me after the game for a few lessons."
I'm new. Kindly explain whats the dispute for serve #1 + new rule 115 + objective no use complaining? Previously we are not allowed to serve at the back if using backhand?
I wanna try the second one!
CERN Tech I have tried. Its fun 😊 try it
I don't understand , how do you execute it ?
He gets inspiration from LYD, he added more power into it. Hear the whooping sound of the racket when he does it, delicious!
Shuttle Flash I though there was a ban on that kind of serve, or was the ban on just hitting the feather of the shuttle to serve? Because it makes the flight pattern really unpredictable and unfair
Sidek serve..hmmm probably misbun sidek
I try to find past of queen of came back by ratchanok intanon. Please up load again. :)
Really really genius!
The 2nd one is the sidek serve. The best serve ever from the sidek brothers! 💪🏻🇲🇾
hahaha....don't claimed malay......the world doesn''t know sidek
The second one is not a Kevin-Serve. Its kind of a sliced-spin serve which many Players like LYD used to play.
not many players, but yes lyd was probably the one who make it famous when he does it in 2014 I think.
Many players ??? Tell me who they are, nowadays i only see minions who do that serve lol
Nice break down! Loved it!
man id be PISSED if someone humiliated me like that
Yeah, did you notice that Ellis and the other English player were losing 21-6, 16-3 when they complained? What a dicking!!
We will support you bro
One legal serve from Kevin and that’s all he needs
badminton is broken game i rather play soccer
Lightening speed💥
Marcus decided to join Kevin after learning he couldn't receive those 3 serves. LOL
Indeed kevin one of the best player in the world in his generation, speed skills anticipation ability to slow-mo the match..... perhaps xmen?
Evry badminton player does this..
Good to see the perfection in it though
Intriguing serve to learn, especially the low serve where you chop across the base of the shuttle.
Very useful service it can be used in doubles but not so much in singles
The kevin's serve is very cool... 😎😎😎
Can u send me the link plzz where i can get this movvie
2:28 what the hell kevin? 😂
Wkekwkw
Wkwkwk ada elu bang
i just wonder how he gets away with his serves XD, maybe i should make him as one of my types of badminton players haha
Aye
It's just stupid how he gets away with his ' flick serve '

@@finnoconnor4913 haha u jealous dude? Now teach him how to serve well and not trying to flick serve again, stop fucking complain bitch, its a game changing serve, bruh u complain and u just do nothing? What achievements have you got? Shitty hater only talks
Jenius ya si kevin. Videonya bagus
I Don't understand the punch service... please anyone understand it to me
its okay. kevin’s opponents don’t understand either 😁😁
Flick service in badminton is the sama as panenka in football, amazing!
Good explanation.i subscribed! 👍🏼
very unique
Can someone enlighten me if there is any rule regarding not flicking the shuttle while holding it. I mean does the shuttle has to be in air when you flick it while serving.
3:24 crazy
he's clever dude
@@aldoprasetyo4118 clever cheater to be more precise
The minions😍😎
Semangat kevin!!!!!!!
0:42 when you BS your new partner
In my opinion.. This is not cheating, this is skillfull and “gifts”. You cant hit a tall man if your head is holding by his hand, so do a small man have a “posture” and some skill for doin flick service.
