    I might be going crazy, but I think both Greg and Jenny's voice seem deeper than usual in this vid. Might be the speed of the video or something, they seem to be talking at a slower pace than usual. I checked my video and it wasn't slowed down, so was probably on their end. Great video, regardless!

    I love the energy that is somehow low-key. Having movement such as throwing the shuttle into the shot, transition to the backhand grip etc. gives a lot more engagement for the video. Keep it up!

  • @LauriVasala
    @LauriVasala ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! squeezing with my fingers to create the power made all the difference in my flick serve.
    On the side note: how to avoid hitting the rim of my racket in general? Some days seems to be worse than others and I couldn't find a good video to lear how to avoid this.

    • @stevemawer848
      @stevemawer848 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I find I generally hit the racquet frame when I'm late to the shot or don't get my timing right. If you're in the right position and on-balance, you should find the strings (and sweet spot!) everytime. So work on your footwork and anticipation - the split step is the key!

    Hi Jenny and Greg, thanks for the video. Can you help clarify something about service rules? I understand the whole shuttle must be below 1.15m, but if your racquet goes above this height on the follow through (which is more likely on a flick serve), is this a fault?

    • @laktho
      @laktho ปีที่แล้ว

      The shuttle leaves the racket at 1.15 m.
      What you do with your racket after the shuttle is gone, well, nobody cares.
      Fault is, when your racket hits the shuttle ABOVE 1.15 m while serving

  • @rb-ex
    @rb-ex ปีที่แล้ว

    notable takeways: grip goes from loose to tight, and flick down the center when it's backhand-side is particularly effective (when not expected). near the end greg mentioned how the flick can create an opening on the court because the receiver's center of gravity gets behind him. so, how should the non-receiving partner respond to that?

    slightly unrelated but what an amazing flex it is using BWF footage of yourself as examples haha any comment on pro players preparing with the racquet face facing downwards? I feel like it's a deception thing where the strike always features the raquet face rotating upward at least some bit, so the opponent can't tell if the player is hitting it short, flat or high.
