Although we focus on translating, I get a fair amount of questions about interpreting. Understanding court proceedings is VERY important for a good legal interpreter, especially if that person comes from a different system of law. Your video is very clear and reflects well on your entire course. Good job!

This job is so easy for a Hispanic who was raised with different races and lived in different Latin countries.

I think this is a wonderful class. It has helped me a lot. I'm currently working in a pilot programme asCourt interpreter.
I want to ask a question: To be under parole and on probation is the same thing? Thank you in advance for your answer.

He addresses this in either this or another video. Probation is libertad condicional (there are other interpretations as well), and parole is libertad preparatoria.

What is the title of the book the students are using?
It would mean so much for me.

The certification process is a fucking joke. The people that graded the oral skills test were Federal level court interpreters and they couldn't agree if I was using invented words or not. How well do they know the language? The last time I tried to get an explanation about that I asked the state and national offices if they had an answer or if they would just concede my point that it was just a dog and pony show. It's been over 7 years and still no reply, so I guess they're conceding my point.

This comes off as a bitter harangue of a person who did not pass.

I wonder why is the interpreter can remember the whole context of a speech long 5 minutes or more?

Iam shock, are you teaching a literal translation or a comprehensive translation. I did not heare cultural meaning in your teaching, what is the translation to English Timepo cumplido?? could it be 3 or 4 days credits..?? is the word credit applies as TIEMPO SERVIDO>>> a translator needs, know linguistics as mening for meaning.... Do to cultural differences........ Example Usted cumplio 2 dias de credito...O usted sirvio 2 dias de credito...meaning -2 days of my jail sentence... servir Meaning +2 days of sentence
