A lot of people ask me the same questions a lot so here's the answers
Where do you get the games? I can't publish that on TH-cam because TH-cam removes any links to those websites and I only use games I have obtained through dumping my own disks. Try Reddit
How do you play Skyward Sword with an Xbox Controller? Skyward Sword is motion plus which I don't recommend or cannot get working properly with Dolphin just yet.
So I set my controller up 100%. There's only one problem whenever I play Super Mario Galaxy my cursor can't reach corners it kind of just stays 2 in away from all edges and I've played with it a lot still nothing for some games it doesn't even let me get through the menu because I have to select something in the corner
i beated skyward sword with an xbox controller just saying its very possible, hard at the begining and youll get used to the controls

Honestly, the coding that went into the mapping is the most impressive bit of emulation I've seen.
Thank you so much. I was struggling with Animal Crossing: City Folk on my android device because the buttons were all over the place and I had no idea how to set up the emulated WiiMote pointing. I followed your instructions and then made some slight modifications and now it works so well. Your instructions helped me figure out how to adjust the R stick sensitivity for the pointer, and also to find the "hide" option so that the pointer isn't always visible (which affects the gameplay in Animal Crossing).

Thanks for the tut! Standard works fine in Mario Galaxy 1, but while surfing, I just jump up and down in the water, even though I use the surf profile and I've double-checked that every button is set up correctly for my Xbox One controller :( EDIT: ok, just figured it out. Seems like SMG1 is different to SMG2 when it comes to surfing? I just have to press A to move forward instead of "tilting" it with a button.
Had I seen this first, I wouldn´t have bought a bar!!!! Thanks a lot man!!!! I didn't even use an Xbox controller. I used a wireless MSi controller and worked the same way.

while in the wii remote configure under motion simulation:
-turn relative input on
-turn auto hide on
-set the yaw and pitch at about 18-20 degrees
voila. the real way to play smg on dolphin :)

In fact it's possible to have only one preset for Mario / Ray / Ball :
- My 'Left Joystick' makes mario move.
- If i maintain 'Shoulder L', it make the wiimote to stand vertical and the same 'Left Joystick' is used to move the ball (1)
- Else if i maintain 'Shoulder R', the 'Left Joystick' control the manta ray (2)
(1) I needed to put a condition in two checkbox if 'Shoulder L' to actually switch wiimote to vertical.
(2) I needed to change the movement sensibility if 'Shoulder R' to avoid shaking when changing direction.
I also put shake on 'B button', near the Jump 'A button'.
And put 'A' again, on 'Thumb R' to easy select on screen for all the interface stuff
yo did you finish the game? today I got to loopdeeloop galaxy and I am stuck it tells me to move left and I move left but nothing happens and it keeps telling me can you help?

@@Summorial2 It's actually possibile now, i'm using retroarch on the Xbox. At First i tried using Dolphin standalone app but It was unplayable because i couldn't change the controls, so i used Dolphin core inside retroarch and It worked, but once i got to loopdeeloop galaxy It was impossible to go on

Thank you SO much! I ran into a few issues with Dolphin, and the game pad setup just seemed so strange compared to say, pcsx2 or ppsspp etc. Motion controls, nunchucks, it was all Greek to me. Lol. I totally needed a hand, and this was super easy and straight forward. Thanks a million!!!
Btw, I was trying to play Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World, but those setting work nicely.

Maybe the community can provide recommended pre-configured control profile for motion control games in particular.
So when you load a Wii game with motion controls you can opt to use a popular profile or edit it for your own preferences.

I'm so confused - I have Dolphin 5.0 but my options screen looks different, and does not have that option to check. It has a dropdown menu where I can choose emulated wii-mote, then a thing called balance board and an option for Real Wiimotes. I can not figure out how to activate the nunchuk. Every game I load says to plug in the nunchuk.

When using a Steam Deck, you essentially have more options provided you have the buttons mapped appropriately. I like the idea of using the right trackpad to move the curser and gyro for tilt controls.

Just in case anyone bumps into this and is discouraged by the fact that it doesn't work with Skyward Sword, don't worry! There is actually a way to play SS with a controller, you just need to have the most recent version of Dolphin (the beta ones, NOT the stable 5.0 release). In fact, few weeks ago a completed SS wih a XBox One controller with no issues. The only parts I can remember having a bit of trouble were the ones where Link has to thrust his sword into the ground to enter the SIlent Realm, but there's only like 4 moments like it in the entire game, and just wiggling the analog in all directions sometimes does the trick or something.
I know it exists I just don't like it right now. And with all the games coming out I want to play I don't have the time to test it. I always use Beta Dolphin. I'm glad it worked for you. When I made this video it was much worse than it is now
@@TwinCherryStudio I feel you man, it definetely wasn't a perfect experience haha, but it was enjoyable enough and capable of beating the entire game, better than nothing for broke ppl like me who can't afford a Dolphin Bar and new Wii motes

Not sure if you're able to help since I'm doing this for a different game, but the right analog stick isn't working in-game for me, although It works perfectly fine on the Motion Simulation screen

Very good setup to star with! however the sensitivity of the stick really doesnn't work, I think there is a way to assign delta to moving the cursor which will work better.
Even better, have thhe mouse act as the wiiimote and the controller as nunnchuk, all buttons aren't easy to access but for me that's the peak mario galaxy experience.

The Z button doesn't work when I try to ground pound. I'm playing the first Mario Galaxy game before playing the 2nd one and one of the stars in Honey Hive Galaxy is about ground pounding. What do I do?

in my opinion you should just have the point set to your mouse and the tilt to your right joystick. This way you dont have to switch between profiles. But for this to work properly you should make sure the A button is set to A *and* the left mouse button. This way the menu is easier to select. And for starbit shooting i would do B *and* right mouse button.

you can use another if you right click on a button, put an or , select a device and button and press Select
ex: `evdev/0/Generic X-Box pad:SOUTH`|`evdev/0/DELL 00:00:08:77 Touchpad:LEFT` with this I can left clic with the touchpad and press A on the xbox controller

probably the most impressive emulator. with the wii menu, changing discs, the input mapping. Its a fucking beast.

honestly im just trying to play metroid prime 3 corruption. have the first 2 games on dolphin and it works fine bc GC..but is it possible to play MP3 with an xbox 1 controller?
If mouse and keyboard is an option Google "Primehack releases", it's a special dolphin file with controls built in for a Metroid Prime Trilogy ISO

One thing though. Is there a way to hide the cursor that picks up stars? I know you binded it to R stick button, but it requires a hold to keep it hidden, it's not a toggle. This isn't a game breaker, it's great to have this game on my laptop, but it's a bit annoying to have the star dead center where Mario is all the time.
Under the motion simulation tab, there should be a auto-hide tickbox for the pointer

Is there a way to make to hide the pointer automatically without having to hold down the button. For example in Super Paper Mario, you can't move with the pointer on screen.
In older builds the "Always " option used to be in the Graphics config. Now it is in the general Config settings (under the interface tab).

How do you configure controls for the zapper? Usually if you are using an Xbox controller you have to move crosshairs with the right stick (games like Ghost Squad, Conduit etc). Is there any way to change it so that the left stick is used to aim crosshairs?

Hey, Twin Cherry Studio! I have a question. How would you recommend mapping an XBox controller for Sonic and the Secret Rings? Because the game needs motion input to be controlled, I have the Tilt mapped to the left stick. However, it seems like the game thinks the Wii remote is always titled forward. This makes it where pulling down on the stick doesn't do anything unless the Tilt Angle is set to at least 126 degrees or higher, but at that point, the high angle makes tilting forward on the stick also go backwards. Any tips?

I have loaded the wii contorller profile that comes with dolphine just to have the motion settings because the wii remote and the switch pro controller are identical in motion settings and it worked with me as if i'm playing on the wii. I'm wondering why many people don't know that i feel i'm the only one who figured that out
Is it better to use a controller for certain games? I have been using a wired keyboard and mouse for it for a couple games including Disney Mickey.
