dude you're way too underrated, this is one of the most informative and helpful tutorials ever. definitely gonna use a lot of these tips for my mini of the month
Another great tutorial as always! That non-metallic metal power sword was just 😙👌 Really appreciate you consistently breaking down and making box art-level painting more accessible to us.
Would definitely recommend ALL of your videos to anyone trying to learn how to paint and for a nice relaxing video. I've been going through all of your space Marine ones trying to pick a chapter to get started... it's so hard!
i've watched this video so many times and this is the pinnacle of mastery and technique for me, this is exactly how i want my deathwing to look, but i know im still not good enough to try this. I've got to keep painting more DA.
'Would recommend’ ‘Very useful tutorial’ ‘Great Video’ ‘This is absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to see more and I can’t believe more people aren’t commenting and liking your videos’
Thank you Michael, live your videos. Nice and clear and concise. Also helps that you only use citadel paints, as thats all I have, makes following so much easier. ❤️
I just buy the Deathwings Assault Box from Amazon and I'm very excited about. Also, I tried the Speed paint from Army Painter on my Wolf Guard Terminator and I love it so much.
Do you glue the sub assemblies painted or do you wipe off the paint at the connection points? I want to super glue after I wipe off the acrylic paints, but I don't want to scrap away the primer. Any suggestions?
Do you plan on making a painting tutorial on how to paint in the "grimdark style"? I think Travorian's take on painting Grimdark Space Marines would be good inspiration for if you're ever wanting to give that style a try
You can swap any paints for ones that you want to use. for me the techniques are the same and most important to learn :) use a 'conversion chart' to compare paint brands
Thank you. learn from my mistakes :D you'll know what to think about when doing some. you could always do a recess shade rather than a wash as well. i hope you give it a try
Hey I'm not sure if this was intended, but because this video is unlisted instead of private, the video can already be found in the playlists tab of your channel despite not being visible in the videos tab yet.
I'm personally not a big fan of Dark Angels but this knights look amazing! Do You plan to make tutorial how to write custom inscriptions on ribbons on shields (sometimes weapon or armour) like that in this movie?
I'm not sure what you want to use those for but if you want to try them out and see how they look. they're your miniatures :D I just offer a suggestion
There a reason you didn't use skeleton hoard or seraphim sepia to do the bone armor? I'm about to start, so if it's significant I'd appreciate if you could tell me. I like the strategy of painting everything first before glazing the armor. It's the 1st strat I'm going to try. Another really good video! Cheers mate!
I used Skeleton Horde on the simpler version? the box standard one is painted to match how the studio painted theres and they do a glaze. we always have more control with a glaze. I talk about it in the video as well :) ultimitley you should paint them how ever you want to. I'm just trying to show you whats possible. If you want to do the glaze at a later stage then go for it. I choose to do things in a certain order in my videos for the perpose of teaching and the format of the video. good luck
I've covered painting black armour a few times now so Its probably something I wouldn't be doing any time soon. I am likely to do a vehiecle painting tutorial though but its essentally the same as power armour :)
A Deathwing Knight ended up being GW's Free Miniature of the Month of April 2024! Looking for ways to paint the one I picked up led me to this video. :)

There’s tons of death wing painting guides out there but this one is by far the best. It’s easier to follow and gets better looking results.
Thank you. that means a lot :D

I've been going through all of your space Marine ones trying to pick a chapter to get started... it's so hard!
Thank you. That really means a lot. It is tough to pick a chapter. So just do all of them 🤪
Great video mate! Appreciate your ability to breakdown these amazing schemes in a approachable way for newer painters
Again, great timing since I've recently decided to make dark angels my second army and these guys are first on my list

Superb final look.

I've always liked the bonbe coloured units to contrast with the dark green of DA.
a Dark Angel army is a nice mix of colours, especailly now with the addition of the inner circle scheme
Incredible job, these look amazing. Love the content, and very informational for a beginner like myself.
thank you. I'm glad you liked the video :)

They look really good👍🏽
Thank you 🙏🏻
Insane tutorial as always thx :)
Do you glue the sub assemblies painted or do you wipe off the paint at the connection points? I want to super glue after I wipe off the acrylic paints, but I don't want to scrap away the primer. Any suggestions?
you don't need to clean the contact areas if your using super glue. you do if you use polycement though.
Do you plan on making a painting tutorial on how to paint in the "grimdark style"? I think Travorian's take on painting Grimdark Space Marines would be good inspiration for if you're ever wanting to give that style a try
I have an idea for Grim Dark and its on the list for a potential future video
Hey Michael. Great content as usual. Did you ever consider making painting tutorials Warhammer Fantasy models?
Yes 😁 soon
The imdomitus pattern terminator armor is the coolest looking armor in the 40k setting in my opinion
I agree
Y really love the deathwing
Same :D
Que bonito
Thank you :D
Great video.
Thank you :D
Servirá el bag of bones de vallejo? Muy útil, tus videos me dan guía para pintar las minis qué quiero jugar y las que quiero tener de adorno
You can swap any paints for ones that you want to use. for me the techniques are the same and most important to learn :) use a 'conversion chart' to compare paint brands
Great vid 👌
thank you :D
Great models! I like your paint job. A little too much pooling with the skeleton horde on one of them imo, though. Nice different styles!
Thank you. learn from my mistakes :D you'll know what to think about when doing some. you could always do a recess shade rather than a wash as well. i hope you give it a try

I'm personally not a big fan of Dark Angels but this knights look amazing!
Do You plan to make tutorial how to write custom inscriptions on ribbons on shields (sometimes weapon or armour) like that in this movie?
doing a tutorial including writing on scrolls and plaques is on the list. I just need to get good at it first :P
Have you ever used brush on primer? How does it compare to spray primer? I know it takes longer but at the moment I do not have good weather to prime.
I've not used a brush on primer, but I imagine if you use it how I describe how to use your paint then it should be fine. thin multiple layers.
3 months late i’m sorry but Monument Hobbies Pro Acryl white or black brush primer is amazing & works great
Cool 🖌
Thanks
Do you think I could use castalian green and Flayed one flesh?
I'm not sure what you want to use those for but if you want to try them out and see how they look. they're your miniatures :D I just offer a suggestion
@@TableTopReadyTH-camokay thank you
So when you paint before assembling, do you have to use super glue instead of citadel plastic cement?
You can use superglue. You can also use plastic glue if you scrape away the paint on the contact area first 😁

Thank you for the tips as always. So helpful :) Oh yeah I missed out on the free DW Knight give away for April! Lol Bummer
How about a tutorial for painting 30k era dark angels? Vehicles especially because black can be a bit hard to make look interesting on tanks
