What you could do is take the piece on the corner and move it over so it butts up against the piece next to the window and bend it into the corner. Then move the mountain one to the right to butt up against the piece you moved to cover the corner. You could also swap out the mountain with the one that is standalone so the sky matches up for the 3 pieces that are together. Looks good Ray!
It is amazing how different your layout looks with backgrounds. These "long pictures" are really impressive. Thanks for the time laps video - time laps videos are fun. Thanks again for sharing your layout, Ray. This is Scale Rail Ray signing off 'til next time. BTW, I'm 78.
Love your videos. Ever though of making a mountain scene behind the track and place an additional track halfway up the mountain to store railroad locomotives and trucks you aren't using
As much as I love the Giant layouts featured on pilentium Television and Need4life and by some of my other favorite youtubers I love looking at these smaller layouts and how creative they are. Especially in scales you don't associate with smaller layouts.
Nice backdrops Ray! And they really make a difference to the look of the layout. I had a suggestion for moving the backgrounds but oldohioangler's beaten me to it! No biggie. And that's a great pick-up on your part, that Metro-North RS-3! Lionel put out some RS-3's back in the 1980s but that MTH product is much improved over the old Lionel, you should get some good service. You know, that backdrop with the houses on the hill reminds me of a town in Pennsylvania along Rt 476 heading out of Philly to King of Prussia. West Conshohocken maybe? Every time I see it I'm hit by the thought it looks like a giant O Gauge layout! Thanks for posting!
Excellent. I just finished catching the end of Nick's live stream. I really like those backgrounds; they add some depth to your layout. I would take that one and move it over to the corner and then use something to fill in by the window frame. It would make the scene more continuous and be easier to make it look 'right'. Either way, an excellent video, as always.
Just a suggestion, feel free to ignore it, I won't be offended. Rearrange the backgrounds as follows; Move the mountain at the far left to the right side of the window. Won't notice the different sky nearly as much. Move the farm on the right side of the window to the left of the farm that is currently on the left of the window further but place it against the farm next to the window and curve this farm around the corner. Then move the houses on the hillside further left but right next to the "curved" farm.
Hi Ray. It's Joe from Binghamton. Those backdrops look great on your cool layout! What a nice addition! I was in Strasburg for the first time last week and saw some nice backdrops at the Strasburg Train Shop next to the Choo Choo Barn. I didn't get any considering that my modest layout resides on top of my late grandmother's dining table. What I did end up getting however was a wicked cool Lionel Southwestern Two-sided diorama - that fits the table perfectly :) I also picked up a bottle of sugar cookie smoke fluid for my Lionel RBMN RDCs - can't wait to test that out!
Backdrops always make a layout look better. A really good addition to the layout.😊🇬🇧🚂

I bought those same backdrops years ago for my layout. Nice to see that they are still in production
The hill looks like a NEPA culm bank with trees growing on it. Can't go wrong.
Nice job, Ray! Backgrounds really do add to the layout's appearance. Keep up the good work! Bill B.
Looks very nice. Looking forward to the road trip.
Lookin good Ray nice touch to the layout adds realism and depth I like the farm scenes with the train going by they look off in the distance
Background looks great now! Thanks for sharing!
It really a beautiful trainlayout

Not offended at all I think that’s a good idea

Looks cool! I have been thinking about using backgrounds. Sweet RDCs, I enjoyed your RDC video.
Thanks John

Scenic express has them alot cheaper than that...
