- In this video Dakman Productions visits the Old Train Farm O Gauge layout. In the first part of the video Harry Henning III and myself introduce ourselves. Then I move on to shooting a video tour starting with walking down the stairs to the basement of the Old Train Farm. After that I move on to the work shop and have Harry explain different trains and buildings. He also explains a little about ERR and Cruise Commander. Then I move on to the main layout area of the Old Train Farm and Walt Herbine takes over talking about different things on The Old Train Farm O Gauge layout. There are several highlights of the layout including a Millhouse turn table and transfer table. Then Harry takes back over and shows us his O Gauge and Standard O Collection in the barn. Walt then surprises me with a birthday gift. Finally at the end of the video is a interview with Walt and Harry who are also part of The Train Shop Weekly TH-cam show from Henning's.

Gunrunner John has super chuff!
Yes John Will had made the super chuffer and the chuff generator. We did the signal boards as well.
Love those roll-up doors!!! Having lived in Lansdale for 28 years, your dedication to recounting the classic days of downtown is heartwarming. Save the freight terminal!
We thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video
Your rail road crossing bell sounds like that low rider song I like 😅

Super great video and layout thanks a lot
You are welcome.
Unbelievably beautiful detailing!
I thought so as well
Excuse me a moment while I get my lower jaw up off the floor...
There, that's better!
What can I say? It looks to me like The Old Train Farm's basement is like Henning's shop in Lansdale, it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside! HOW do they manage that?
There must be some classic Pennsylvania / Ben Franklin ingenuity at work here!
And just an absolutely stunning collection of trains and artefacts! Museum quality!
I've been to Lansdale myself several times, it's a classic old PA town, so I can well understand the desire to model and preserve the memories of the old days there.
Thanks for taking us along Shawn!
You are welcome

Ive done several MPC engines to TMCC by ERRco up grades!
That's so cool. Maybe this will motivate me to convert a few of mine some day
hope to see you and everyone on Dec 25 at 4 pm eastern for my Christmas day live stream, lots of gifts to be given away.
I do have a couple O scale cars this year.
Oh cool. Thanks for the heads-up
Yes thank you for the info.
So how does he clean or dust everything on the layout and keep spiders at bay?
Speaking of John Will's Super-chuffer boards. I bought three sets a couple years ago but when I tried to install, the process is NOT for non-electronic people. The instructions need to be re-done coming at it from a novice' stand point and not assuming that you understand electronics. For example, ERR and earlier TMCC do no look the same and this was one area of confusion. Another is setting the chuff, this was just not detailed enough in instruction. I wish a much better set of instructions would be provided with these upgrade boards. These guys like Harry who do our upgrades are clearly overwhelmed now, there are not enough people doing them and this is another reason why these instructions need to be greatly improved.
Did here this right he has a “brick and mortar “ store.
Yes he is Henning's Trains in Lansdale PA
Why is 3rail so popular in the U.S?
Great question. Not sure where you live but noticed myself how 3 Rail O Gauge is popular in the US over 2 Rail O scale but in the UK its the exact opposite. One of the biggest benefits of 3 Rail is that you don't have to worry about wiring reverse loops. The 2nd thing is that Lionel has been a long tradition for people in the USA. There are people in the US that run 2 Rail O scale but not many.

What's the model cars size which you used in your model, and what are the brands of that metal cars? Where it is available in online? Kindly reply to my query....!!!!
Most of the metal cars you see are made by Greenlight and are 1/43 scale. You can buy them at 3000toys.com or Ebay. Greenlight is also on Facebook so you can keep up with new cars coming out. Just beware that they only make so many cars and then move on.
1:06:03 That is a proses kit. You can see how Matt built one here: th-cam.com/video/81YkSGKHCfw/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the information
What dose npc stand for? I'm tired of hearing all those abbreviations.
MPC just refers to a certain time period of Lionel which is 1971 to 1985. This is when General Mills MPC Division owned Lionel.
At minute 3:45 who's under the little red wagon? Someone likes MOPAR as much as we love trains,Lionel and the World's greatest hobby!!! Merry Christmas
That would be Harry. He is a Mopar guy just like myself
@@Dakman I'm down too.
