You need to upgrade to a GW-180. I had the exact same experience when I started out. My 80 watt didn’t have the power to run two trains at one time. It didn’t blow like yours so after I replaced it with the GW-180 and use the 80 watt to power everything but the track.

Great video Ray. I haven’t downloaded the app. I still have the old app on an iPhone 7. I’ll eventually download the new one to my iPad. It’s good that you are seeing the glitches now so that they can be fixed.

I have not preordered the Cab3 nor have I explored the Cab3 app figuring I would wait for the bugs to be worked out. I did find your video both interesting and informative. I have to say I really do like the Cab2 remote. One day I suspect I will find myself investing in the Cab3 and using the App. I will go take a look at the Demos with Dave video you referenced. I did hear that they are having some problems with the base3 on the apps for iPhone and Android systems with different stuff disappearing in coming back a few days later something like that a few of my friends were messaging me about it, but I don't think I can use it with some of my MTH locomotive at all brother. Give it some time and the bugs will get worked out on the cell phone apps. I also have been stressed out badly alot lately brother and it sucks and I am also struggling alot.

I’ve been fortunate to not have so many issues while using the new app. However I’m on a new iPhone 15 so maybe that’s why, and older devices are having issues. Only glitch I’ve had is the horn being stuck “on” like how you had your bell stuck Ray. Maybe try a newer phone or tablet and see if that fixes the issue. Also does anyone know what those two extra buttons do when trying to connect to the engine? The one that shows a Bluetooth symbol and another that shows the universal remote. You can click on them but they don’t do anything and I don’t believe Dave even mentioned them on Demos with Dave

I didn't get a notification on either of my TH-cam channels about the pod cast brother, I will have to find them and watch the videos.

Good video, interesting that it just happened to glitch while you were filming. Bummer that the app has bugs, I'm OK if there are bugs I just want Lionel to fix them quickly, so let's see how it goes when the Base3 side comes out. Layout looks great from that angle BTW.

Hope they get it sorted quick. At least the original LionChief app still works, but the ability to run multiple engines is the strong suit of the new app. That would make things easier for your filmwork

I use the new app. It has issues with certain phones or tablets. Try a different device. It seems to work better with my android devices. I really like the new app, especially that you can run more than one engine. The kill switch will stop the train when it's running.

I USE THE APP TO RUN 4 TRAINS AT ONCE. I DON'T HAVE TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE UNI REMOTES. I LIKE IT. 🙂👍👍 I HAVEN'T HAD ANY ISSUES WITH IT........YET.

Half way through your video I'm already stressed. I can't imagine staring at my phone trying to get my hobby to work; EFF NO!!! Just wait... Cab-3 will suffer so many bugs and still, to stare at a pad. I'm sticking with my Cab-1L- Friggin' buttons that do friggin stuff. I can close my eyes and operate my trains without looking. If I buy the Cab-3 and face similar, I'll be tempted to take a sledge hammer to it and ship the pieces back to Lionel! At my age, a $500 momento to make a point is well worth it.

No app for me, all of my locomotives are post war and mpc era.

I like the app I have a few blue tooth engines I haven’t put : on it yet I only put one neon and had the same problem with horn and bell had to kill power n start over I do like the speed numbers I might try 3 locos tonight n see what happens 🤔great video ray now I know what not to do on app lol

Nice! Great job on scoring that new power. It is always good to buy local, if you can, especially from a reputable dealer. They will always stand by their products and their customers Since I run conventional, I'm not familiar with any of the apps. I've always thought that they were cheapening out with the phone, so they don't have to supply a controller. Supplying a cell phone-style controller would be a good thing to do, as some people don't have the luxury of having a spare phone. Keep up the fine videos, as always. I'm looking forward to the next one, as usual.

If that’s what you want, then yes. I’m going to drop close to that when the Polar Express comes in. I have the MTH Premier Big Boy and I love it. I haven’t seen a Vision Line Big Boy in person so I can’t compare the two.
