Great Video! We lived in Greenville SC for 13 years. My wife was an Accounting Professor at Furman University. Our travels took us to Charleston in the 80's for the Cooper River Bridge 10K run 7 years in a row. And we loved spending vacations in Hilton Head Island. Beautiful state to live in.
Don't know if you're history buffs for Civil War sites but I found visiting the CSS H. L. Hunley in N. Charleston fascinating. However, check what days they're open.
definitely a beautiful part of this continent. We hope to spend some time there this fall on an RV trip we have planned. Continued safe travels....looking forward to your ongoing journey up the east coast...
Thank you for coming to visit our beautiful city here in charleston. You were here during the perfect time of year for sure right now it feels like it's 130° outside and unfortunately we are full...
When I see those accidents….and I’ve seen many, I’m always thankful I’m sitting in the traffic and not the one in the wreck. Glad the guy was not injured! Fun time in SC 😊 THANKS!
7/17/24 = Great video & Welcome to our beautiful City. Y'all did a great job on the video. Hope you have a wonderful time & Please Come Back. Billy,Chas.,SC
That just sends shivers down my back whenever see an RV wreck. Last one we saw was a smaller one , maybe a teardrop similar to ours, just destroyed. Just shivers. Be safe.
My rig weighs in just over 25,000 lbs for my truck and Fifth wheel RV. I usually tow at 60-63 mph and average 10.3-10.5 mpg towing with a Ram Laramie 3500 crew cab dually. Only modification to my Ram is a 60 gal auxiliary tank in the bed of my truck. Total fuel capacity is @93 gals. Love my Ram. Much more stable than the F250 that my Ram replaced.
I used to live in Charleston and James Island for many years. Your friend did a great job recommending Leons. Next trip try Muse, it's south of Broad and such a fun place if you're eating at the bar. Also, get your butts over to Folly Beach! It's the greatest, most eclectic small beach town on the east coast. Pro tip, go to Folly off season. Get the tuna nachos at Rita's. You'll run into the most amazing people. Like mega ship captains and some of the best restaurant staff around. And 1 last recommendation, if you're lucky enough to get a reservation at Halls Chophouse...mmmmm better steaks than Ruth's Chris or Mortens...
2024 Chevy Duramax dually owner here. 20" wheels, 35" tires, 2.5" Cognito leveling kit, long bed, towing a 42 ft Keystone Alpine...averaging over 11mpg. And I don't drive slow.😄
Gooood video guys capturing downtown Charleston!!! Charleston is a true gem for sure!!! Born and raised there and you guys were there during the best time of the year for sure. 2 major caveats for this SC native. 1 - Its hotter than a 5 alarm fire there for toooo long!!! 2. Tooo many folks have migrated there over the past 5-7 years all over the state, resulting in horrible traffic in most cities throughout the state. We follow your lead and stay out west and chase the goood weather and boondock a lot. 👍😃🍻
Thanks for the great video! We’ve learned so much from them and we really enjoy seeing both of you. The tire pressure is something I really need to look into. We’ve never towed a travel trailer and I am finishing up a 4 year restoration on a vintage silver streak. Only 3000 pounds or so but our little gmc canyon might need a tire pressure increase while towing. Things I’ve never looked into. Hope we’ll cross paths someday when you’re up north visiting. We’re headed to northern Michigan for 25 days in a couple months on our maiden voyage. Safe travels to you guys. ❤
So glad the person in the accident is ok! We love the Low Country. It's sweet you shared the soup and sandwich. 😍"I picked out 10 homes for us to buy" LOL. Yellow is a happy color! Lunch at Leon's looked delicious, but most importantly time with friends is so special. - Michelle
There is a koa at exit 205, I think, off 26 that gets you closer to Charleston. There’s also one on 17 northeast of mt pleasant. Both are quite nice and very convenient. No problem getting a 37’ fiver behind an F450 in either
The Ram 3500 also has airbag suspension in the rear. But yes, Ram overall is best for hauling. Can’t beat an inline 6 Cummins, 6 speed Aisin and luxurious cabin.
Man that accident is scary, that's really the only thing that has me worried when towing. Even if your tires are new, and your pressures are good, you could catch something on the road and poof there goes your tire. Stay safe out there Chris and Aaron!
We've both just been de-virginized with your channel with this vid being our first time! Looks like a binge watching in our Saturday afternoon afternoon future! Enjoying you guys! Ya'll got a new sub here with my wifey and I..... Chris and Stephanie Chapman Always remember.... Be happy. Be safe Most of all..... Remember to live life to the fullest! After all... It's the only chance we get!!! See you on the road someday with our NorthPoint!!!
Welcome aboard! We've never had first time viewers describe their experience like that 🤣 but we'll take! Appreciate ya watching and safe travels to ya!
I live in Bluffton, basically right between Savannah and Charleston and I love them both! The last time we were in Charleston, we stopped at Cafe M and had croissants and coffee and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Y'all might like the Greenville area.
I just found your channel. You are both such pleasant folks. enjoyed watching, subscibed I will have to watch more of them. What awful luck for that RV Reminds me of our Motor home trip where we had four tires blowout and caused 5000. dollars damage plus the tires were 5000. Back in the 80s. Like you.
When I worked in transportation and dispatch we did safety checks, oil, lights, signals, oil, water and check tire tread, do you practice that? Thank you, great video, I very much enjoy. We were required to do them everyday of operation.
Sad you guys drove right past St. Aug. on your way to the Panhandle. Please come for a few days next time you’re in Florida. You think you loved Charleston you’ll love St. Aug more. I just drove from Fla. to NYC a few days ago left 5:30am and got in at 11 pm. I remember seeing the tonka toys. Brought a smile to my face to see them again.
l am looking forward to seeing where you go in my home state of Virginia. I lived 48 years in Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and now live near the Virginia mountains. I would highly recommend First Landing State Park if you stay near Virginia Beach. If you go to Virginia Beach, cross the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel to "The Peninsula" for great history like Fort Monroe, NASA Langley (where I worked), home of the space program, and, of course, Williamsburg; maybe even Jamestown or Yorktown. I traveled the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park last summer and would highly recommend for gorgeous mountains and laid back travel. Lots of camping in mountains of Virginia, from dispersed in National Forest to nice RV parks. If you decide not to go inland to mountains, cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and enjoy the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware (Delmarva peninsula). And don't miss the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I think Ocracoke would be right up your alley!
We had an RV for many years. We had everything checked before our first long-distance trip. We had the front ties replaced but was told the back tires looked good. It was Dec 21, a Sunday, and raining at 5 PM. We were only on the road about 2 hours when we had a blowout. It took us 4 hours to get someone out to help. We finally started again and drove to the next state when we stopped for the night. The next morning, I started driving, and we went to get gas. My husband started driving, and I was lying down when I started smelling rubber burning. I got up to get in a seatbelt when we had a back blowout. We were lucky we had four back tires. My husband told him to bring out all new tires and replace all of them. The good part was we only paid for the tires, insurance paid for them coming out and their time. The really good part we had the RV. We ate, played card games, went to the bathroom, slept, and kept warm while waiting. RVs are so good, especially when you don't have to get out in snow or rain. We had a tow trailer for our car. So when we got places we had a way to get around.
Glad you got to enjoy "my" city! Been here for 14 years now, it's a great place although it's getting way too busy. COVID really ramped up the influx of people to the area, it's pretty crazy now. I'm surprised you found a spot for that big 'ol dually on the Battery! Next time you're in town there's a nice garage between King and Meeting down by the Music Farm that is pretty large, even has some RV spots in it but I think they are usually full. Those swinging chairs are never free when we're down there, lol. Next time when you're in town you should check out Folly Beach, it's a great place to watch some surfers and get some beach time in (in case you didn't get enough in the Keys). BTW, the char-grilled oysters at Leons are the only way to go. So good. The county park in James Island has a campground as well, if you want to try staying closer sometime. Not 100% sure if you're 5er will fit there, but might be worth a look! If you stay there during the pre-Christmas season they have a massive Christmas light setup in the park, it's awesome.
You captured Charleston in such a way that now I want to go back again! ❤ I'm not sure when you got the new mics, but the audio in this video is super crisp. I appreciate how your videos are topnotch now!! The drone footage, the audio, and B roll are all perfect!! 😎
Ahh thanks Shelley! Yes, you guys should go back to Charleston! Thanks for noticing the work into the video! We've been playing around with some new wireless mics and a few new camera options. I was walking around with 6 cameras in this video! 🤣
Talking about biting into the chicken. Non Minnesotan: it's super juicy, super spicy, super crispy. Minnesotan: it's super juicyah, super spicyah, super crispyah. If you hadn't mentioned your home state in another video, I would have guessed MN! You have a really heavy mn accent, and it's cool! I'm a resident also, although not native. I've been in the southeastern part, close to Winona, since 1981 while still in high school. All kidding aside, you guys have an excellent channel, your videos are so relaxing! Take care and stay safe out there!
Right before Christmas & photograph the doors and most of the year the window boxes are gorgeous. Snag a spot at Edisto Beach State Park, as you're close enough to drive into Charleston. Too much to list here, but every visit you can hit a different restaurant. Safe travels and "y'all come back". 🦩 ( Middleton, have a meal) (Magnolia Gardens 🦚🦚🦚) (Boone Hall in the fall )
Haha~ Aerons eyeballs 👀 at the end when Chris says she wants to move to South Carolina! Ya made me laugh out loud~ you two are awesome~ keep on rockin. My friend Lori who I used to work with as an Rn now lives in Charleston with her family and keeps begging me to come visit! Hey maybe I would fall in love and have to move there as well from Pennsylvania.
I-95 in SC is a horrible drive even without an accident. Our first trip pulling a 45 ft toy hauler major truck accident and fire, about 4.5 hours to get through, rode totally closed for several hours before we got there from Fl.
Best way to see Charleston is by horse-drawn guided carriage tours. The guides are so knowledgable about the history of the city and all the old architecture and structures. And there's nothing like the open air of an old historic place like Charleston, or Savannah for that matter. A couple of my favorites also. Welcome to the South. ♥
Hello from SC!!! I may be a little biased but I truly believe we have the most beautiful state....truly "Gods Country"!! Within 2 1/2 hrs you can be either on the beach or in the mountains!!! Welcome to my state....enjoy ....... pull up a chair and stay a bit....have some boiled peanuts and sweet tea and slow down and enjoy life.....one breath at a time!! Yall stay safe and come back and see us anytime!!
We are at The Oaks right now while watching your video. We visited Beaufort, Hunting Island State Park and Port Royal and more. There are so many beautiful and historic sites around here.
Oh man, we recently saw a 7-10 mile backup on the other side of the divider because of an accident. I was feeling for all of the auto drivers without a toilet. So sorry got this guy. And - you are a great driver!
I grew up in Charleston and had the place to myself in the 60’s-90’s. The Internet exposed a well kept secret. If you have many millions, you can get a swanky place. If not, you will experience Atlanta levels of traffic. I lived in Atlanta for 25 years as well and can tell you that Charleston is not built out for all the people who live here and are dreaming of living here. Mount Pleasant and James Island are full. As for the weather, it rains frequently, and for about 6 months of the year, the heat and humidity will make you miserable. Get ready for expensive power bills with all the AC that will be running 24/7. And at some point, there’s going to be another Hugo. If you are moving down south from a colder climate, your snow storm experience is a paltry comparison to a direct hit from a hurricane. As for you newcomers, welcome to south Jersey/north Florida!
We just left the Oaks a few weeks ago. Went back to Tn to get our mail and visit. June 1st we'll be at Circle M in Pa then slowly making our way to Maine. Maybe we'll see ya on the road. You two be careful our there. ✌️
I think we were at the beginning of that wreck you were stuck in. Was it around the Brunswick/Rock Hill, GA area? If so, we got off for the KOA at Rock Hill, GA. And you just can't go wrong wit touring Charleston and Savannah. It looks like the e-bikes earned their money in Charleston!
I have a 2018 ram 3500 high output asian . One thing that is great for your truck is that pulling weight is the best for the cummins and emissions to keep clean. Most folks don't pull with there Rams with Cummins engine and they don't get the proper regen process. So they have problems. I've since did a delete and feel even better but keeping mine running forever if possible 😆 look into Banks products they have a monster peddle that is amazing and safe but incredible results . I have the whole system by Banks. Love you guys be safe
We had our 1st 4 hr standstill on the way home from Tennessee. So glad we were in our class b. Just walk to the back and use the bathroom and fix a snack. Wife and I realized it was worth the crazy Covid price! Lol.
Thank you for sharing I love watching you guys on your journey, wow, when you put up your weight of your RV that it was 16,500lbs that is a little heavy sucker but I see that you have a lot of mods also.
Hi guys - great video (again)! How did you get that aerial shot over by the pineapple fountain? Do you have a drone or was that clip from some other source? Thanks.
We haven't! Might be a good option in the right area if they have a big lot and allow it. Funny story... we used to live by Lake Calhoun in MN and Whole Foods was right across the lake. They had signs everywhere for towing of non customers, because so many people parked there to walk around the lake!
Great video, you passed Brunswick and the Golden Isles on your way to Savannah. You really should consider a stop here and visit we have two beaches a lot of history the city was founded in 1788. Really love all of the low country of South Carolina and coastal Georgia! Also plenty of campgrounds here too. That chicken looks amazing,I know it was good.
@@IreneIronTravels Well, this just made our week! We have been watching you two for a long time, and Chris being an awesome badass has been inspiring! And Aaron.... it takes an awesome dude to support such a strong woman and to be a badass alongside her! It's our dream to meet you guys! You have no idea how much YOUR videos inspired us!
Ahhhh, I just shared that with Chris and she got teary eyed! 🥹 I’m sure we’ll run into each other somewhere on the road. This RV lifestyle is pretty amazing and it’s been a blast sharing our journey over the years!
You guys are just so dang cute together. I am the youngest Betty you will ever meet. So funny. I will ask Ethel and Rose if that is true. I was there once for a very short time but loved what I saw and your video was great. I was there for a national tennis tournament in 83. Yes I am old and that is why I can say you are cute. We actually were in condos on the beach on Seabrook Island. Now get this. All free and sponsored by Michelob so all the beer you could drink. They had vans with three spigots on each side around the complex so anytime you wanted a beer you were set. Would love to go back and explore but probably won't. Great memories of that trip!! Now rethink that house idea. Yes 3.5 million is a lot but it looks like you can offset that cost by not having a lawnmower or having to use weed killer. Almost a push I would say. Rambling again but have you seen that tire inner device that will keep you going straight if you have a steer tire blow out? Maybe they will hook you up and do a sponsored video? Anyway Timberwolves are having the strangest playoff series I have ever seen in any sport. Games are won by 25 points or more and then the Nuggets win the next time by 25 or more. So strange.
Isn't Betty a hoot! We didnt really explain, but she is a friend from MN that moved to SC. We had to visit here on our first year! When you say tennis tournament 1983 all I can think about is John McEnroe! 🤣 Thanks for the story Dan! That sounds like the Timberwolves of old...so inconsistent! 🤣
Have you guys ever stayed in Wilmington NC? My wife and I love in PHX Az, and are visiting Wilmington in August to see if it's a Nice place to relocate. Would love to know your thoughts.
You guys could explore and film for a week and not see everything in Charleston & the surrounding area. One of my favorite areas! Greetings from Charlotte, NC
I once towed an office trailer 1,500 miles with a flat tire on my rear axle, and didn’t even know it? Loved my Dodge dually! Office trailer was light but there was a lot of windage. I figured that’s why my mileage was suffering.
Welcome to Charleston the place we call home. Its a beautiful place to visit and glad you enjoyed it.

For the money you spent on that RV and truck, you could have a great used Prevost and be in the safest motor coach on the road. And have a toad.

You've been saying Thousand Trails but when you pulled in the sign sail KOA what's with that
The oysters on the half shell looked yummy. You got in during the last month of oyster season until September. Great video.
Start saving your pennies for when your u-connect needs fixed. $2450 last week for mine. Dealer technician says it happens all the time.
Uufff ta, sorry to hear about that bill! Yea, these new vehicles and their fancy systems!
I live in Charleston, moved here from Atlanta. It’s a great little city to live in! Highly recommend. If you have any questions about it lmk
Great Show you two, thanks for taken me with you back to Charleston!
Our pleasure!
I've driven a lot of this country, and I-95 through the South part of South Carolina is the worst stretch of road...
We're really feeling the congestion of the East Coast!
Hopefully they filled in the huge pothole around mm12 Northbound.
It has to be seen to be believed,it’s stuck in the 60’s,
Come drive I-95 in South Florida it's the worst.
@seancasey2444 been there, done that. It's still not as bad as SC. At least in Florida, if there's a wreck, you can get to an exit within a few miles
That’s 95 for you. 26 from Charleston gets bad too. We take the back roads back to Columbia from Charleston.

Too much to list here, but every visit you can hit a different restaurant. Safe travels and "y'all come back". 🦩 ( Middleton, have a meal) (Magnolia Gardens 🦚🦚🦚) (Boone Hall in the fall )
Haha~
Aerons eyeballs 👀 at the end when Chris says she wants to move to South Carolina!
They are not regrets, they are reasons to return.
Surely some of the softer ride has to be the dual tires.
We are heading out this weekend from Florida staying at the same RV park and plan to visit Charleston for a few days. Safe Travels!
I believe I met you when you were washing your truck on your last day at the thousand trails. Enjoy your travels!
John
SC is a great state.Moved here when I was 21,43 years later still loving it.
Nailed it!!! Toooo tooo many people there now for sure. Traffic and the heat & humidity is a deal breaker.
We just left the Oaks a few weeks ago. Went back to Tn to get our mail and visit. June 1st we'll be at Circle M in Pa then slowly making our way to Maine. Maybe we'll see ya on the road. You two be careful our there. ✌️
Nice! Sounds like a good plan you guys have! We might just run into each other! 😉 Safe travels!
Nice video interesting town.
No restroom is tough. If we have to choose between two restaurants, the one with a restroom wins.
LOL and you haven't even got near the D.C. metro area yet. From D.C. north expect heavy traffic regardless of accident or no accident. Safe travels.
Love your channel guys! We have to get over to the Charleston area, such a beautiful place! Thank you guys and safe travels!
Thanks so much, same to you!
South Carolina is. my home state . Always lived here. Great part of country. Enjoy!
Lol.
Get a tuner/controller, you'll see better mpg.
Thanks.
Hey you guys, have you thought about parking at a grocery store for the bike tour? We did that in Key West and it worked so well!
We haven't! Might be a good option in the right area if they have a big lot and allow it. Funny story... we used to live by Lake Calhoun in MN and Whole Foods was right across the lake. They had signs everywhere for towing of non customers, because so many people parked there to walk around the lake!
Anybody else get "Miss Congeniality - describe your perfect date" flashback when Chris was talking about the weather around the 19:00 mark? 😆🤷♂
I really enjoyed you sharing your adventures.
How do you check the air pressure on the inside tires ?
What kind of locks are you all using?
Aaron n Chris how’s the towing mirrors on the Ram vs Super Duty , does the Ram 🐏 mirrors fold in n out
Love your content.. you already know I love your Basenjis ❤
Appreciate it! They are a joy! 😊🐕
You guys rock! Keep it up! You have inspired us greatly!
Thanks, appreciate that! Funny enough, I just watched your F450 video after YT recommending it! Nice setup up and great job on the video 👍
Raw Gulf of Mexico oysters are the best! I can eat a dozen easily with an ice cold Miller Lite.
Crazy side bar we were on a different lower team in 82 at Flushing Meadows NY which is the U.S. Open venue and won it all. Betty is cool lady!!
Every time we go to Charleston I tell my wife that.
Nice video good tips as well.
Thanks!
Thank you! Appreciate that! 😊
I got caught on I70 for 9 hours because of an accident causing a forest fire and closing the highway. It was terrible.
Thanks for another great video!
How long can you leave the dogs before having to return to them? I start getting worried when we are away from ours too long.
We like to keep it at around 8 hours.... but have done 10. We sloooooowwly trained them on this though....
Yep, in a motorhome in bad traffic, you can have the passenger take over for the driver.
Loved the video. Thanks for sharing.❤
I once towed an office trailer 1,500 miles with a flat tire on my rear axle, and didn’t even know it? Loved my Dodge dually! Office trailer was light but there was a lot of windage. I figured that’s why my mileage was suffering.
Why does having a little bit of squish in the back tire
the oysters need a tad of Tabasco. Game changer bayby....
Yes!! I did put some of that on mine. I put a little of everything on them 😂 they were gooooood!! 👌🏽
Need a month in Charleston!
