How does this video only have 28 views!!! Oh my goodness, that looks so SO GOOD! I love that we can hear the crispiness as you guys chew. Thanks for the recipe, I look forward to trying this very soon!
I made one plain and one with Chinese Five Spice--both they turned out crispy and so delicious. There was not one bite left over! This is a definite meal on repeat in my carnivore wheelhouse. THANK YOU!
I’ve got my pork belly on the boil right now with the exact spices you used and it smells amazing already.. can’t wait to air fry it but will wait the 8 hours first .. I’ve been keto for quite a few years and so glad I came across your channel ❤ Thankyou 😊
Found this video at 10am on a binge to find a video with an easy to follow first time Pork Belly recipe. Thank you for being informative, detailed, and including the times and temps that a lot of videos forego. I'm gonna try this the next chance I get
Making this for dinner tonight. It's in the water/spices right now and will leave in the fridge uncovered while I'm at work today. My mouth is already watering! Thanks!
Mine had great flavor but it didn't turn out well enough in my air fryer (old one). I also think it had something to do with the belly itself. Didn't stay flat. I will try it again and use my air fryer option on my oven.
That looks amazing! The best pork I've found to date is Campo Grande - Iberico pigs from Spain. Incredible quality. I will make this recipe with a slab of their pork belly!
Interesting, her method doesnt require applying the dry rub onto the meat side. Instead she dumps it into the boiling water for a more subtle taste. ALL the other methods say apply it directly. I find it comes out waaay too salty. Gonna try this method. 30-40 min boiling, then 40 min at 400F. No damn tin foil either.
I just bought my first pork belly from Costco today, and I searched TH-cam, and I’m going to make this recipe. Do you consider this a meal or snack? What else do you eat with this? Thanks
Our philosophy is to listen to your body and eat until you are full! But you can always look up the macros for pork belly and see whether it fits your intake requirements :)
Do you have any videos on the sauces that are typically used in Asian cuisine and the alternatives? For example: Oyster Sauce, Hoisin. I tend to shy away from many sauces. As a diabetic, I don’t keep sugar in the house. Or am I just being too picky? Also, which sugar replacement do you find works best in cooking Asian foods?
You can replace soy sauce and oyster sauce with coconut aminos :) it’s not 100% the same but it’s the closest in flavour. I don’t think it’s picky to keep out any sugar in the house!
Gosh this makes me want to go out right now to buy pork belly and make this! Recipe for Chinese pork belly vary in the amount of boiling time from as little as 1-5 minutes to your method of 30-40 minutes. Do you know how this affects the end product?
I think it would depend on the thickness of the pork and strength of your air fryer. In this video we used an older air fryer and left the pork in large pieces. If you pre cut the pieces first it wouldn’t take as long :) thanks for watching!
I have pork belly boiling at the moment before putting into the air fryer. Question, this is a very large piece which I cut in two before boiling. It came frozen in cryovac bag so couldn't choose a smaller piece. After air frying, how do you store it? Can it be kept in the fridge and still maintain its crisp? Can it be frozen? I won't be able to eat it all myself in one sitting.
Hi Deni, you can store in fridge for a few days. If you want to get it crispy again try warming it up in the air fryer for a few mins before serving. It will always be crispiest when it is fresh!
Ok so it's finished and looks exactly like yours. OMG, it's amazingly delicious 😋...thank you for providing this video. I'll be sharing the video with my daughters.
It may look good, but the outcome is far from it. Followed this recipe exactly and what I got was a crispy outside skin atop a tough, over done, shoe leather like layer of meat. Parboiling for 40 minutes turned a piece of pork belly into a sad failed experiment. This did not work for me - looking for another air fryer pork belly recipe.
You guys are so cute,I’m late to the game I just purchased an air fryer can not wait to try this recipe thanks for sharing have a wonderful blessed day today in Christ Jesus our wonderful Lord God and savior Jesus Christ bye 👋
So much chewing, skin is no good! Shouldve put a lot of salt on the skin and put it in the fridge for the skin to dry out more, now there was too much moisture still, as we can see from the lack of bubbles on the skin
Only 40 mins in your "handy dandy, air fryer." After the 40 mins in your "handy dandy, saucepan full of seasoned water." Or did you forget about that part? 1hr 20 mins actual cooking time...
How does this video only have 28 views!!! Oh my goodness, that looks so SO GOOD! I love that we can hear the crispiness as you guys chew. Thanks for the recipe, I look forward to trying this very soon!

It's in the air fryer now, is it normal to hear popping or what sounds like little explosions?

@@denim4821 So glad you enjoyed!! Stay tuned for more content ;)
@@denim4821 Yes this is completely normal, it kinda sounds like your air fryer is going to explode hahah

Printed recipe would be helpful.
Hi, thanks for watching! We have the recipe on our blog at www.justrealfood.com. Just look under Pork :)
You had it in the air fryer for 40mins @400??
I have the same question.
Crispy skin doesn't mean it is safe to eat. You need a food thermometer.
I love pork belly 😊
So do we! Thanks for watching 😊
How may broken teeth my wife wanted to know..... looks yummy

You need a cleaver not a regular veggie knife. lolol.
That skin doesnt look to great, not that much puffed up skin
Set off the smoke detectors
