Hey everyone! Just a thought. To all of those wanting to do something for our dear friend Jude. How about we all make sure to be here on this channel for him for the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays to wish him best wishes(GIFS?) I'm quite sure he probably won't be feeling himself during this part of the year so a big shout out from all of us I'm for certain will cheer his spirits. Love, Renee` from USA🥰🦃🦃🌲🌲
Maybe it will help cheer some of our Spirits in America right now, too, to do something as kind as this for our good friend, Jude. You have a great idea.
I just can't get over the fact of how much work you put into your videos - all the different angles makes me believe that you have like ten different cameras or a camera crew. You are just amazing; all the work that you do in your garden and house, plus the superb editing and filming, is truly inspiring. Your dedication and creativity shine through in every video. I am just enjoying your videos so much, I can't wait until Sunday every week. Keep up the fantastic work, you're doing an incredible job!
Ahh thank you so much! I wish I had camera crew, I could rope them into helping me with projects! At the moment it’s just me and one camera - I do a lot of walking up and down! 😂😂
@@rewildingjude I was wondering how many cameras you have, for all these angles, but would never have guessed it was just one. all the more respect and love for the quality of footage / videos that you bring out! they are really excellent!
Hello Jude, I hope you are doing well. I was considering getting a wheelbarrow, but after seeing you struggle, I am having second thoughts. Do you experience snowfall in your area? I live in AK. I have been concerned about the lack of insulation in your place. Would it be possible to insulate the roof in the attic?
Jude, you mentioned in a comment that you'd just finished knitting a pair of socks. I think that when the weather makes it impossible for you to work on outside projects, giving an overview of the process of knitting a pair of socks would keep us all entertained. The way you talk through whatever task you are working would lend itself to anything that you are doing indoors as well as outdoors, it doesn't have to be all ruffty-tuffty power tools stuff, we'd watch you do anything 😀. I would love to tackle sock making but I've seen so many methods that I don't know where to start so looking over your shoulder would give me a few pointers, not asking for a tutorial just a chat and a look-see at whatever craft project you're working on like your old yarn videos.
I have a lot of inside cosy things planned for winter! I don’t do a tonne of knitting anymore (those socks have been a work progress for a LONG time) but lots of people have asked to see my blanket collection!
I almost spat out my coffee when you said you were basically lazy. Jude give yourself some credit; you have an incredible work ethic. I would probably have given up upon seeing a 33 page instruction manual 😂. Have a good week. 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
After the madness in the States this week, this is the peace and resounding joy I needed to (vicariously) experience. Thank you, Jude. And a very Happy Birthday!
@@rewildingjudeThank you for thinking of us. Not gonna lie, it’s quite daunting, even for this ‘eternal optimist’. Your lovely and peaceful videos, along with the love and support in your community of commenters, is like a little island of sanity every Sunday and more appreciated than ever. Thank you!☮️❤️
What a lovely young man you are. As a recent widow, you've given me so many smiles and lightness of heart. It's sheer joy watching you. Just you carry on the way you are. Can't wait for next summer to see your garden. ❤❤❤😂
I’m so sorry for your loss 💗 grief is the absolute worst, it’s so sneaky. I’m glad my escapades are bringing you some cheer! I’m so excited for the growing season!! I’m going to get some garlic planted in the next week or so (just need to get some top soil ordered!).
@@juliawigger9796noo!! So frustrating!! I had trouble with squirrels digging up all my plants when I was attempting to grow a tiny fire escape garden at university!
Congratulations on your sponsorship 🎉. You are such a joy to watch, I smile all the time while watching your videos. Your personality is contagious. It's nice to see how your week has been. I wish you luck in all your endeavours 🙏
He makes me smile too, & sometimes, (like last week & his friendly Cow episode), laugh-out-loud. The raised Beds look good Jude. Hope they reward all your efforts with lots of lovely Veg.
The only channel I keep checking around upload time to see if the video is there yet! New Sunday routine, press 'like', sit back with cocoa and watch how Jude's week has gone. Love it.
After watching this fab video - I actually stood up & applauded when you’d finished the beds 😆 You’re a blummin’ grafter Jude, those beds looked hard work. I hate that wheelbarrow too! Thank you for a longer video. And a hello to everyone commenting on here; it feels like we’re a Jude family & in these uncertain times, that’s something to be treasured 🤗 🤗 🤗
Thank you for such a lovely message!! 🥰💗 I was so glad to get them done! I’m excited to move on to the next project now - haven’t quite decided what it’s going to be yet, but there’s plenty of small jobs to do in the meantime!
I'm an old woman who gave up using the wheelbarrow and instead had a plastic version that was light and never tipped over. This last year my younger son persuaded me to buy a wagon with four wheels, and a long pull handle, that has a tipping\dumping mechanism. I strongly recommend a vehicle like that. It doesn't tip over, you don't have to lift anything, and it stays balanced as you pull it over bumpy ground. And it holds a lot. 😊👍
Jude not many people in their 30s would be able to do such a wide variety of things from dyeing yarn to woodwork skills. It makes me chuckle when you say you have absolutely no idea what you are doing. I am twice your age and have half the skills! Keep on keeping on. Well done!
I wonder if you realise just how wonderful these weekly updates are and how much they keep me ( and maybe others) grounded and just what I need ( and maybe others). Just fantastic - thanks so much.
Just a tip…for that hard working mole. If you don’t put some kind of metal mesh at the bottom of your raised beds…that mole will have a buffet every day on whatever you grow. Love your videos. Love your smile!
Yes, I'm glad you suggested that because I was also going to say something. It's so disappointing when you come out to the growing garden and some critter has eaten most of it down! A live trap might be a good idea too. But I don't know how easy it is to live trap moles. We do that with chipmunks and rabbits. We also did it with woodchucks one year. We love the animals that come to our yard, but many are just really destructive! It's kind of a love/hate relationship! LOL!
I lined the bottom and several inches up the inner side of my raised beds with hardware cloth. Expensive, and takes a bit of time, but so worth it! Chicken wire under won’t keep out voles and moles and such, the holes are too big. Then I lay chicken wire on top of the soil, under the mulch, and plant right through is. Stops squirells and marauding cats from digging, and, it seems, groundhogs don’t like to walk on it so they only grab a few things ‘round the edges.
I don’t watch TV or listen to mainstream news. TH-cam is my go to ( that and google). It’s rather full of nastiness atm. All of that unmentionable stuff is why I look forward to you channel uploads. We all need a beautiful soul in our lives.
I’m also not a TV watcher - or a news follower. I got caught up in a spiral of negativity and there was nothing I could do that would change anything. I figure if something important happens that I need to know about, people will tell me about it. And that’s been the case so far! Sending hugs!
Every week, watching all the walking shots, I think of you getting to the spot, setting the camera up, going to the "start walk" spot, walking to "end walk spot", then coming back again to collect the camera and it makes me giggle to myself of how great an outakes of just the setting ups or recollections would be. I like to think you skip or gallop during the off camera but on camera moments. Love your updates and all the effort you put in to capture them.
@@rewildingjude I'm going to hit 'like' because you want all the likes you can get of course, but I don't like the getting wet part but getting warm is good. I'm going to have a veggie stir-fry, vegan actually as it's Quorn! Hope you're having a nice evening and best wishes for the coming week... it's getting darker and darker huh?! 🙂🙃
@@ColinOBearohh I love a good stir fry. I made a cauliflower curry last night (my neighbour has one of those farm vegetable box subscriptions and wound up with four giant cauliflowers, so she gave me one!) and it was delicious!
We’re in the middle of house buying/selling and this week has been particularly hard. I love my Sunday Jude fix because unfailingly he lightens my load & helps me stay positive. Just love to watch what you’ve been up to. Hugs from Northumberland. P.S If you read this lovely Jude, please get that dog you’ve been promising yourself, I got my first dog (my hubby had dogs as a child back in Victorian times 😂) 2 yrs ago & she’s an absolute joy, she’s a dachshund Jack Russell cross (a Jackshund) I’m nearly 66, so it’s never too late.
Oh I’m sorry moving has been tough this week! Buying and selling a house is the WORST. I never want to do it again. Thank you so much for your kind words! 🥰💗 Definitely planning on getting a dog - it’s top of my 2025 To Do List - I’d planned on getting one before Christmas, however I’m making a last minute trip to the States for Christmas to stay with friends, so it’ll be something to look forward to in the new year!
@@rewildingjude. So glad to hear you are getting away for christmas to see friends, how wonderful ! Thats is the one problem when you have pets having to leave them in good hands! Great news on two counts Jude 🥰.
Your channel is one that I hit the “like” at the beginning because I know I will so enjoy your video. I feel like a proud Mom watching your determination and progress!
These raised beds are not only functional…..but beautiful structures for your gardens! Top Tip!!! If and when you are ready to have your mole move onto another home (I know you like the fluffy soil they provide), simply put 3, yes 3, moth balls in each hole you find. Might take you a couple of days to get to all of the mole holes, but they detest the smell of moth balls and will leave your place forever! Bonus….. they will never come back! Love from Edinburgh x
Your videos lift me every week. Been very under the weather recently and I look forward to seeing what you are up to and how the cottage is coming along. I grew up in rural Cornwall and I miss the countryside, and my late parents, a lot these days
Ahh I’m sorry to hear that, I’m glad my escapades are helping a little 💗 Cornwall is such a beautiful part of the UK - I had family there when I was a child, and spent many happy summer holidays there! I know what you mean - grief is the worst, I always miss my parents more this time of year.
Jude, I’d be curious to know how many steps…or even MILES you walk a day!?! What an inspiration you are! Thanks for the exceptional content! Your sense of humor and outlook on life bring me back time and time again❤️
I’m not actually sure! My watch isn’t great at counting my steps because I’m usually carrying stuff - and it panics and doesn’t count unless I’m swinging my arms around! Must tie to my ankle one day - for science!! 😂😂
I love your videos, admire your videography & never thought I would get so much relaxation & joy from watching someone build raised beds. But that’s because it’s you dear Jude 😊
The comments section on my videos is one of my FAVOURITE places on the internet. I get lots of lovely comments saying ‘your videos are the best bit of Sundays!’ - and reading the comments is one of MY Sunday best bits now! 🥰
Jude, you are not alone… can’t tell you how many times I’ve dumped my wheelbarrow when I didn’t want to do so. But I’ve learned you have to be careful, as you well know by now, when loading yours. I didn’t get to see this video until today (Friday). Looking forward to seeing your next one. Keep smiling! You lift so many of us with your joyfulness!!!❤
Thank you!! I’ve ordered a two wheeled barrow (that one is rusting through as well as unstable - so I might turn it into a planter!) - I was hoping it would arrive before my topsoil delivery… but that’s not looking likely! 🙈😂
Thank you!! I’m so grateful for everyone for watching my videos - and for brands that want to work with me! It means I can keep ticking projects off my to do list!
Jude, you could put raspberry canes in the space between the beds and the boundary wall. They grow well in the Scottish environment. Different varieties fruit at different times so you could have successional fruit. They are quite happy growing in blocks or rows and wouldn't need to be in a specific bed just in the ground as is.
For the first 20 minutes I was like “why the heck is he building them like that”? And then all was revealed. Really nice job. That’s for the bright spot in an otherwise traumatic week. 💙
Jude, I have to share something with you. TH-cam "found" your old channel for me, so I watched many of your videos last week. In one video you had a little feathered friend visit you in your studio and then last Sunday you had a feathered friend visit you in your shed. These events are filling me full of the sense of the interconnectivity of life. You would have never predicted that you would be visited by birds . . . twice! I love your channel Jude. I love that some of your work gloves are showing real signs of wear and tear. I love that you are doing things by yourself and doing them your way. You are amazing, Jude. From a faithful follower all the way in Canada.
Haha!! I’ve actually had four birds come into my workspaces now! I had a robin and a pigeon visit my very first studio space when I was living with my parents - I ran out of the studio with my arms covering my head and my mum thought there was a fire 😂😂 she was very amused by the pigeon!!
Epic effort Jude. Well done. You should have a chat with your neighbour with the cows about getting some cow manure for your vegies and compost heap. Nothing beats it as no weeds, due to the double digestion of cows when they chew their cud. You will find aged cow manure in the paddocks. So lucky to have that greenhouse, even if work is needed on it. You can save money on top soil by getting some straw bales, blood and bone and manure and make a big layered bed that will quickly decompose and be so much cheaper than buying soil. I would just buy enough soild to create some planting pockets, within the beds. Having brought in top soil for one of my front gardens as well as using the straw soil creation method in my back garden, the straw method actually proved more productive as the worms moved in so quickly. There was also many less weeds than for the imported soil! Good luck with it!
I proclaim you the ‘King of Water Butts’! 😂 I also understand your frustration with the wheelbarrow. Maybe a new one for moving the top soil? You have done a great job…. Loving your videos 😊
I'm so impressed with your work ethic. Doing it right no matter how long it takes. What seems like forever (to you) to get them finished will now give you years and years of nutrition and enjoyment. Job well done Jude!! Loved the video. ❤❤❤.
Newbie to Judeland here but I must say your videos are so inspiring! Not only from the viewpoint that one day I hope to do what you've done and find my own little patch someplace remote, but its also so reassuring that its entirely possible to learn as you go. Thank you lovely Jude for being so wonderful and honest, what a breath of fresh air you are! 🍂🍁
Empty space equals local to the beds compost bins, area for fruit bushes etc. Tip for those gloves a little bit of twine in the shed and peg them up in pairs - cheap and simple solution. Alan Titchmarch gave a good tip about turf, stack it soil to soil and grass to grass, leave and it will turn into lovely soil! Your videos are a breath of fresh air.
Yes!! I’m thinking of putting some rhubarb down there, and maybe raspberries up against the wall. Ooh good tip with the turf! I’ve put it all back in the beds - I just needed it out of the way while I was getting the beds in!
@@rewildingjude Great to hear you're thinking of putting rhubarb in that gap by the wall - I was thinking they would be perfect there! Not sure how artichoke would cope in the Scottish climate, but they make a lovely ornamental space-filler and they're tasty too 😊
@@rewildingjudeWas just thinking the same and looking for a comment on it lol We don't have moles where l live, but l thought maybe some wire or something under the bed would stop them digging underneath.
Beautiful job, the raised beds and the film. There's an elderly couple who live round the corner in a very simple old bungalow in a mixed road of generally posher houses. They don't have a car and go everywhere on foot, often with a large wheelbarrow which they use for all purposes, going to the tip, fetching shopping etc. I have seen them occasionally getting off the bus coming from the larger town, but they don't have the wheelbarrow then. They're always friendly but we don't know their names, we just call them the wheelbarrow couple, or maybe Monsieur et Madame Brouette!
The milanote program looks to be a really useful one! Glad you got such a terrific sponsor. I would say your attempt at the raised beds was entirely successful. A lot of hard work, but worth it because you've built something to last. And I see nothing wrong with praising the local worm population. After all, they'll be contributing to the general health of your garden in the long run 😁. Well done, Jude, and thanks for sharing your beautiful life with the rest of us.
Milanote is so useful! I’m about to start planning my next room makeover on there (am I supposed to be doing ANY more work to the inside of the cottage pre-renovation? No. Have I decided I need to turn one of the upstairs rooms into a little study? Yes. 😂)
Haha! I’ve ordered a new one - it’s got two wheels and promises to be more stable… I’m hoping it arrives before my topsoil delivery but it’s not looking likely! Thank you! I’m so glad you’re enjoying them! 🥰
Aw Jude you completed them! I start my weekend with 'lifes too short' on a Friday and finish the weekend every sunday with you Jude. Our wheelbarrow is predominantly a bird bath but has had use. We tore our elderly shrubs out and have begun again. I put in a rose bush yesterday as we are on clay. I look lovingly at it out of our window 😂. You remain optimistic Jude and thats one of your great attributes and one of the reasons I watch. Keep going you are doing a great job and anything you make with your own hands is always a thing of beauty. Blessings from Lincolnshire.
Ooh I’ll have to check out life’s too short! My wheelbarrow wouldn’t even be a good birdbath because it’s got a rust hole in it 😂😂😂 it’s days are numbered! I’m usually a glass half full person most of the time! I have moments where everything goes wrong and I get irritated, but an early night usually perks me up again! I agree - I’m never happier than when I’m making something! Have a lovely week!!

You are an unusually well organized fellow, which makes your life a little easier, I'm sure 🙂 Be proud of your raised beds, and enjoy the good result of your hard work.
I’m definitely a bit of an overthinker - which can help with projects! But the state of my workshop shed would disagree with me being organised 😂😂 must tidy it up this week!

Wow Jude. I had a raised bed garden of 2 that were 4’x8’. I used treated lumber. They lasted 7 seasons. I can totally relate to you and all the hard work you have done. Keep keeping on. Life is so worth living. I cannot wait to see what you plant this coming spring. ☮️❤️
I think they would too! I remember helping my mum dig two big veg beds in our lawn at the house I grew up in, way back before we knew about no dig - it was so much work! And they looked like freshly dug graves afterwards 😂
I am not young anymore, so I guess this is why this all looks like too much work If it were I. But I am appreciative that you are so diligent and determined to make your home what you dream of! I thank you for sharing so I may dream with all your other followers! Best wishes!
That’s the plan! There’s 3 and a half feet between them - eventually I’ll probably put in some woodchip paths instead of grass, but that’s a job for Future Jude!
Jude, I’ve been following you since the early days of the Stranded Podcast when you were selling yarns on Etsy. I love these videos every week, and seeing the man you’ve become.
Good job creating the raised vegetable beds. Those pesky cow beasts would sure come in handy to eat all of that weedy ivy growing up around the glass house. Your parents are smiling and very proud of your accomplishments today. Bless you Jude.
Jude, I'm your newest subscriber. I'm so glad I found your channel for many reasons: it's so encouraging to see your determination to craft happiness in life, your love for your new home, your creativity, among others. I am doing the exact same project - raised garden beds - and, by watching you, I learned a better way to attach my corner posts. Thank you for that! This last week here in the US has been crushing. Spending a few minutes in your Scottish garden has been calming. ❤
I have a fair bit of experience with raised garden beds. The one essential thing is to make sure the ground you are putting them on is well tilled and weeded so the ground is not hard. If you leave it unworked and just add garden soil, in the first good rain the vegetables will just drown as the bottom soil is too hard for the rain to drain into the soil. The beds will become over soggy wet.
I don't think it'll be a problem in that soil. Also, no dig beds are just that, no dig ( except if you need to level it like Jude did) Everything underneath will break down.
Wow, your raised beds look fantastic! You did a great job! Glad to see you have a sponsor! Woohoo!!! I hope you create a wish list as someone recommended in the comments and glad you ordered a new type of wheel barrow. I have a garden wagon and love mine. Thank you for sharing a piece of your life with us, your an inspiration. I look forward to your videos each week. 💜💜💜
Keep doing what you’re doing. Taking it slow. But whatever you do. Don’t give up. If the assembly is not working out. I hesitate to comment normally with this many comments, but I have been here since the beginning so here goes. First, please choose a dog with a higher prey drive, like an Aussie, or a Border collie, or even a German shepherd. My Aussie mix rescue was a champ at mole obliteration. I stopped counting at 48. Looking forward to all the beautiful plants and vegetables you are going to put in the nicely build beds. Have a nice evening and a good week Jude.
Hi Jude...just a little tip for next spring when you're setting out your seed trays and pots- mole hill soil mixed with a little compost! The old fellas always scrape up the mole hills for this : ) Also, those little wood 'corners' if you keep those they're handy for joining two smaller bits of wood, a frame for instance or a bookshelf? You can stick them in the corners with wood glue. Too hoardery? Yeah, maybe. Lol. Good way to meet the neighbours- go round and ask at each house for their old newspapers or empty compost sacks to line your beds with. (Plus any chicken/pigeon litter (poo & wee soaked mmm!) for your compost : ) If you're anywhere near the coast you can chop up some seaweed and rot it down too. That spare space behind the beds- cheap buckets/big pots filled with sand/compost mix ideal for your carrots. I'm going now...x.😊
😄I started smiling as soon as the mitre saw came out! I was not one of the people who wrote that you should get a work table but I thought it many, many times! Every time I see you with the hated wheel barrow (I concur) I never commented on how you should add a garden cart to your needs list as I know you are on a budget, BUT I love my garden cart, the back end of the cart's side folds down and the steering is fabulous. Enough of being a back seat gardener Jude, well done on the garden beds, you are going to be so happy to view them from your window as you are sipping a cuppa. Cheers from

Hahaha 😂😂
Thankyou! You too!
Love this channel Jude. You’re amazing. I feel like I’ve joined a family. Hello everyone.
Ahh thank you! That’s the best thing to hear! Welcome aboard!!
Another great video Jude ! Love how your beds turned out. Love your smile and joyful attitude.
Hi! It seems really peaceful here 😊
Hi 👋🏽 from the states
Wow well done Jude amazing work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I can feel tour frustration at the wheelbarrow 😤😤😤😤😤
After the madness in the States this week, this is the peace and resounding joy I needed to (vicariously) experience. Thank you, Jude. And a very Happy Birthday!
I’m very glad to have helped a little bit, it’s been a bonkers week on your side of the pond 💗💗💗
I thought of seeing if Jude wanted to set up a retreat for some of us on this side of the pond who are in need of sanity!
@@fernie5128haha! Yes!

@@rewildingjudeThank you for thinking of us. Not gonna lie, it’s quite daunting, even for this ‘eternal optimist’.
@rewildingjude ohh I've just thrown in some garlic too, but the damn squirrel keeps digging them up😅😅😅😅😅
@@juliawigger9796noo!!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad so many people seem to be enjoying my videos - I’m having a great time putting them together!
He makes me smile too, & sometimes, (like last week & his friendly Cow episode), laugh-out-loud. The raised Beds look good Jude. Hope they reward all your efforts with lots of lovely Veg.
@minkgin3370 yes, he makes me also laugh. The bird encounter last week was hilarious 😅
Sunday is fast becoming Judeday! ❤

The only channel I keep checking around upload time to see if the video is there yet! New Sunday routine, press 'like', sit back with cocoa and watch how Jude's week has gone. Love it.
Ahh thank you!! I’m honoured!! It’s been a pretty good week this week, less wildlife than last week! 😂

@@rewildingjude the wheelbarrow 😂😂🤦🏼♀️
@@mandy5539seriously, that wheelbarrow is on borrowed time 😂😂
Probably what you need instead of the wheelbarrow Jude is a 4 wheeled metal trolley ❤
I thought that too. Great for collecting the firewood and saving your back
I have a gardening four wheel wagon that also tilts so you can dump out the contents. I love it.
I’ve spent this evening researching my options - and there are TOO MANY!! 😂😂😂
I love my Gorilla dump cart. Use it every day!
Thank you!! That’s so lovely to hear!
❤️
Just a tip…for that hard working mole. If you don’t put some kind of metal mesh at the bottom of your raised beds…that mole will have a buffet every day on whatever you grow. Love your videos. Love your smile!
Great tip! Small chicken mesh?
@ that would definitely work.
@@catlayland8734 very helpful advice. Thank you
I don’t watch TV or listen to mainstream news.

I’ve ordered a two wheeled barrow (that one is rusting through as well as unstable - so I might turn it into a planter!) - I was hoping it would arrive before my topsoil delivery… but that’s not looking likely! 🙈😂
So please you’re getting sponsorships already!! Well done well deserved and hope your channel keeps growing. Beds look great x
Thank you!!
I’m so grateful for everyone for watching my videos - and for brands that want to work with me! It means I can keep ticking projects off my to do list!
If there was a global competition for best raised garden beds, you would win hands down. Amazing ❤
I just came here to say the same too ❤ home grown berries are the best! ❤
Yes!! I would love that! Raspberries are my favourite fruit, and there are some little wild ones growing behind the cottage!
For the first 20 minutes I was like “why the heck is he building them like that”? And then all was revealed. Really nice job. That’s for the bright spot in an otherwise traumatic week. 💙
Hahaha, it was definitely a trust the process type project!!
Yeah, it’s been A Week - and I’m not even on that side of the pond. Sending hugs 💗
Jude, your raised beds are smashing. Really well done. You are making such a positive impact on your property.
Thank you!! I’m so excited to see how it looks when I finish all my plans!
I proclaim you the ‘King of Water Butts’! 😂
I also understand your frustration with the wheelbarrow. Maybe a new one for moving the top soil? You have done a great job…. Loving your videos 😊
A 4 wheeled garden cart has saved my clumsy butt from the horrors of a wheelbarrow for years now.
Highly recommend.
I think I need to invest in one of those!! That barrow is on borrowed time 😂
I'm so impressed with your work ethic. Doing it right no matter how long it takes. What seems like forever (to you) to get them finished will now give you years and years of nutrition and enjoyment. Job well done Jude!! Loved the video. ❤❤❤.
Oh cool , a Jude video , just right for a sunday evening
Thanks John! Hope you’ve had a good weekend!
Pop the dug up sod upside down in your garden beds - save soil, includes grass to break down and limit the amount of added soil
Or maybe you already did this - if so, apologies
Yes I agree. I did that with my beds. It saves so much money and breaks down nicely, plus you don’t have a pile of turf to deal with.
Newbie to Judeland here but I must say your videos are so inspiring! Not only from the viewpoint that one day I hope to do what you've done and find my own little patch someplace remote, but its also so reassuring that its entirely possible to learn as you go. I love it. Perhaps Jude could consider his followers Judelanders.
Ahhh thank you! That’s so kind of you!! Definitely learning as I go here!
Not sure how artichoke would cope in the Scottish climate, but they make a lovely ornamental space-filler and they're tasty too 😊
Before you fill those beds staple hardware cloth to the bottom or Mr mole will have a field day in the beds
That’s a very good idea! I’ve got a lot of hardware cloth, putting that on the list for the week!
@@rewildingjudeWas just thinking the same and looking for a comment on it lol

Congrats on the sponsorship! These videos are the cozy highlight of my Sundays 😊
Thank you!! I’m so glad you enjoy them!
Yes. 😂)
I reckon we should all chip in a buy Jude a new wheelbarrow!

Thank you so much!!
I still can’t believe what’s happening over there, it’s terrifying 💗 I hope you’re doing okay.
Also, no dig beds are just that, no dig ( except if you need to level it like Jude did)
Everything underneath will break down.
Ooh good tip! Airating, forking through, digging over, whatever that ground needs
Wow, your raised beds look fantastic! You did a great job! Glad to see you have a sponsor! Woohoo!!! I hope you create a wish list as someone recommended in the comments and glad you ordered a new type of wheel barrow. I have a garden wagon and love mine. Thank you! (And I always appreciate a comment!)
A German Shepherd is the breed I’m planning on! 🥰
@@rewildingjude Oh my! Now I can't wait!!! I have 2 German shepherds. I feel very invested in your journey! You have a wonderful spirit. Your parents would be so proud! (I'm sure they were regardless)
@@rewildingjude consider a rescue dog if possible. Thousands and thousands of animals get euthanized in the US is a staggering number every day. There is an unwanted puppy/dog out there waiting be your best friend and all he wants is to be loved and seen by you.
Love my Sunday mornings with you. You put so much time and effort into your videos. That wheelbarrow is driving you crazy. Hopefully you will eventually find a sturdy one. You never cease to amaze me with your joyful enthusiasm for all your projects. You are a talents. Well done Jude.
Jude… “the devil works hard. The mole digging in my garden works harder”… 🤣😂🤣🤣😂. Too funny! Congrats from 🇨🇦 on your progress. You are a joy and inspiration!!
Hi Jude, nice video and can't wait to see next year what your harvest will bring you for all your beautiful raised beds!!
I’m so excited to plant things in them!!
Happy to see your progress weekly.❤❤ And looking forward to see those beds full of greens 🥰🙏🏻🥳 Have a lovely weekend Jude!
I can’t wait to start growing stuff - this is the first time I’ve had proper space for it!
@ I am sure it is gonna look awesome in spring❤️❤️
Every sunday evening is a joyful evening watching your new video. Your enthusiasm and your bright smile makes a dark grey day sunny. Have you ever considered a hand cart instead of the wheelbarrow? Looking forward to all the beautiful plants and vegetables you are going to put in the nicely build beds. Have a nice evening and a good week Jude.
When you learn, I learn. Thank you so much for this video.
I love Jude and I love Yakisugi Inspired Raised Beds. How did I survive before your channel? The mind boggles.
Good Morning from US. 😊
You are so inspiring to do many people. You have a go at anything. Well done.
Cheers from
I saved this video to watch with this week’s video, so I could spend more time in your world. Lovely job Jude
Are you sure you’re “innately lazy” ? Pretty sure you are one of the hardest working guys I know. Thanks for another lovely video this week ❤
So excited to see you have a sponsor for this video! Yay! Go Jude :)
Thank you! I was really excited too!
Your channel and @campervibe make my Sunday. I appreciate the longer video as well!
I love your positivity, it lifts me & makes me have hope after a bad week - I just think ‘Jude’ & pull myself up and carry on. ❤
This is the nicest compliment! Thank you! 💗
The first ad!!! I feel like your gap year is going to turn into you being a content creator and being able to do this forever, how exciting :) I look forward to your videos every week so I hope so!
Thank you!! It would definitely help with the cost / speed of renovations if that’s the case!
The beds look wonderful!! How about planting berry bushes in the space between the fence and the raised beds? And/or a pollinator garden? Attracting bees will help with your vegetables (and maybe you can start some beehives???) 🙂
