Your damn lucky you didnt snap the lugnuts right off by standing on the rachet. Get a good 4-way or a breaker bar and the right socket. That adapter was good to maybe 75 ft lbs. Your wheels are torqued to 100 + ftlbs.
IcantSignIn your joking right? Maybe the intercooler would match the calipers but the entire grill RED?!!?! That ridiculous that'd look like a fucking child's Hotwheels. Mate show me one car with a res grill and blue paint lmao
Next time you prep a car for paint, you should try to mask off some of the areas where you might get overspray. It might take several hours or a day, but you'll get a much better result, even if you use a cheap shop.
I worked at maaco and maaco is just a step above econo. Honestly that is the same job you would have got from maaco. Glad you got what you were expecting. Also very happy you realized you were going to get some cut corners with the over spray. I do remember as a detailer at maaco, there were plenty of botch overspray spots where I really had to do my work as a detailer and make it look as if it never was there. Either way, I learned a lot at the shop, met a lot of cool people.. A lot of people who are struggling with finances etc or schooling. But regardless. Working on cars is a great job and trade, I enjoyed my time there.. Seeing how not to do somethings and how to get away with certain tricks. There's always something to learn from any body shop. In all honesty, the only diference in home brew body shops is that they know their own name is on it while at maaco or franchise, there are multiple people that hit the car, so the respnsibility is a lot more prone to failure only due to, someone not wanting to do someone elses job. Like i had detailers that hated fixing prep's mistakes (all that overspray). But it is the detailers job to fix the wheel wells, point out ANY missed spots.. They should have took care of all that when it came out of the oven when they were taking the paper and tape off. But regardless, glad you're happy with the paint job. if you wanna see a REAL BOTCH paint job, check out my RUSTOLEUM video on my page.. Its a maaco special lol.. Came out great if you ask me, i spent peanuts on the paint and piecing the prep materials. I'd seriously consider doing a rustoleum paint job over an econo just because you'd save alot of money and learn a lot about orange peel, and how to deal with botch paint jobs lol. I'm a seasoned detailer from maaco though, we had so many botches lol!!! But I'm so glad cause I learned so much.
Sam buddy, the roof, the trunk button and the wheel wells, that can be fixed, the roof gasket/trim, you may have to do some masking outside the trim, fine scotch brite and a spray can of satin black paint will fix that up, inside the right wheel well and suspension, little scuffing up with sand paper and you can use either mat or gloss black paint, will be as good as new. You might want to look into taking off the intercooler and clean it up, not sure how, all that paint in there, can't be good I don't think. Other than that, the car looks good. The only question is, how much overspray is on the seats? :)
Wow. For the price, you got a really nice looking job. I like the color. Once you get the grill screen sorted out and the bumper redone, the final sanding and buff out will surely give you a beautiful job. I have a black 2001 miata that ALMOST needs a full paint job. But since the clearcoat is still intact I will try a full buffing with a cool new buffer I just got. THANK YOU!!
Paint grill, emblems and wrap roof black; maybe even mirrors. That would give the blue more pop and give it an aggressive look. Love the color but the cars that have similar oem paint have a more aggressive body styles. You don't want to look like a soundcloud rapper but an aggressive 500hp european car enthusiast. Black accents , black accents black accents . Also remove paint on intercooler, it really robs you on efficiency. Brake cleaner or carb cleaner is good but I think if you put it in a tub soak it in purple magic it would be easier .
Get what you pay for, Maaco would have done the same thing. Long as you're good with having to do the finishing work after the fact and it met the budget, its still a win. Color is great for that car. Get the grills back to black and IMO black out the chrome badges/leaping jag.
Why is this paint job ok? I mean, even for this price, weren't it clear that one had to deliver a perfect job of taping and covering? They could've done it easily without more efforts. I'd never sell a person a paint job like that.
Yo listen up, here's the story About a little guy that lives in a blue world And all day and all night and everything he sees is just blue Like him, inside and outside Blue his house with a blue little window And a blue JAGUAR And everything is blue for him And himself and everybody around 'Cause he ain't got nobody to listen
just randomly stumbled across your Chanel, Ive worked a good dozen years in the collision repair field... Its not for maaco or the lower end repair shops however I must admit that I love what I do, I love the line of work and what i love the most is seeing the customer as excited as you are to get there cars back knowing the hard work that i had put into the vehicle to get the job done.. Seeing customers whom are as excited as you are make it go All worth while!! Congrats on your Jag Project!! keep up th e awesome work and videos!
Perfect color sam. I was hoping you would go with a light blue. Just clean and paint the wheel arches black and it's going to look mint. I think with that amazing blue that black rims with a matching blue lip edge would look amazing. Well done.
I like this channel because the title is actually what the video is about, something actually happens in every episode and it’s not just strictly click bait and talk talk talking like 90% of car channels on TH-cam. SamCrac you the man
I agree that the paintjob itself is pretty good. And I doubt I could really do better in that department. But I know if I spent 500$ on paint, fresh spray tips and some plastic sheet... Well I could probably match that quality, and the car wouldn't have nasty overspray and poor line work.
Meeker Extreme everyone always says wraps, have you looked at the price of a full car wrap? It’s much more expensive than a cheap paint job, it’s several thousand dollars. And plastidip to me is a terrible choice in most cases and it’ll still cost about the same and you have to do it yourself, if you want to pay someone to do it it’ll cost more than this paint job by a factor of 2 at least. Most people looking at this car from a few feet away and just glancing at it will not see any of the imperfections and literally all of them he can fix with a bit of thinner and a rag.
lol for 500 bucks its like macco do all the prep and send it to them taped up if you dont want it sprayed everywhere. Cuz they just doing it as fast as they possibly can.
Sam you’re definitely my new favorite automotive TH-camr. You seem like a genuinely nice dude, I hope all the exposure with the Dominos car gets you more subscribers. Best of luck with everything!
Yeah, I was about to comment that the Chicago electric impacts from harbor freight are pretty nice and then I saw that huge air compressor in the background. :)
It has been awhile since I prepped one of my cars for paint (~1990). What I did was to completely strip all the lights emblems window seals and gaskets windshield moldings and gaskets (so the new paint would go under all exterior ornamentation trim seals and gaskets). I drove it to the shop and did the final removal of the tail lights. I told the shop there was no rush on paint, that they should work on the high dollar work orders before they got to mine. They appreciated my patience and rewarded me with a fabulous base coat clear coat paint that in my eyes looked almost show quality with no obvious orange peel. No need to work with economy paint shops, for barely more money you can find a quality shop that will work with you - just steer clear of such obvious cheap paint colors like French Blue! Alternatively you can paint your car yourself with a quality enamel roll on like rustoleum and then color sand any orange peel.
They paint it the wrong color. Then repaint it the right color. For sure they didn't send it down between paint jobs . That blue is going to DELAMINATE over a short time.
Jakub Kraus i understand your perspective but I would rather save up some extra money (of course it will take a longer time) for a better paint job because the way I see it he just lost 500 bucks.
Thinner eats the clear coat, it’s too aggressive. Especially because it’s only been a few days since the clear coat was sprayed, it needs weeks to “breathe out” and harden. If anything he should just wait a few days and go over it with a very fine sandpaper (1500grit) and polish it out to remove the haze marring
500 bucks is 500 bucks !lolo Not bad for 500 bucks Sam, get a black rattle can and hit the fender wells and intercooler and the lip under the doors and your good ... Cheap decent paint job , durable Ehhhh questionable but still decent looking lol Get some 00 still wool and hit the window outsides for overspray and your good lol
I've had overspray like that before, usually the fender liners are dirty and/or greasy enough that just a quick spray from a pressure sprayer or a quick trip to the car wash will clean the overspray right off! Just be careful of the fresh paint on the car!
Chris Yes paint effects performance, yes double paint effects performance x2 . He should let it soak in some purple power to remove the paint or something more powerful like carb cleaner . Rest of your comment is correct . Cheers
all of these issues are expected. It actually looks amazing for the price. With the exception of not having any paint on the right side of the front bumper cover. lol
Love it. Back to the eighties monochrome. Right in time for Easter. Once dry add some huge pastel egg stickers and an Easter bunny costume and bring joy to many kids. Seriously just pulling your chain mate because it looks fantastic. Keep the show going it been great fun to watch so far.
In the 80's I had a friend get a car painted at a place called Earl Scheib. His slogan at the time was "I'll paint any car any color for just $99.95". After seeing the paint job I don't think he masked anything. I picture him holding the paint gun in one hand and a piece of cardboard in the other to block most of the overspray but he painted over the Chevy emblems, the trim, the chrome grille and bumpers, all of it. There was overspray on windows, tires and lights. It was awful.
fillg : Growing up on Youngstown, Ohio. We had a Earl Scheibs & another paint your car chain called : The Auto Painter's. Having bought my first car at 13 ( paper route & cutting grass $$) I bought a 69 Road Runner for $700.00. After ditching all the 70's " goodness" - Garter belt hung from the mirror, air shocks with big old Cragar SS rims, playboy bunny with a light on the rearend etc.I braze in new sheet metal patches and plenty of bondo, put Magnum 500 14' rims, cranked down the torsion bar and dropped the air shocks. Buying a set of used black bucket seats and back seats from a parts car 69 Charger. Put on a incorrect for the year flat black spoiler off a guy at the bars duster twister. Plenty of weekend and night time sanding, I took it to Earl Scheib for the $99.95 paint job in Tor Red- which they ended up having to repaint it twice as well- also they had to repaint the 2 flat black hood stripes as well. But I must say for the money at the time and me doing ALL the prep work- pulling grille/ headlight/ taillights, bumpers, door handles etc and going over all the weather strip with lacquer thinner and taping off 75% of the car by myself. It truly came out nice. Spent a year managing the local Auto Painter's location. Who used Western Color system Acrylic Enamel with hardener. Which I mixed per the body tag or came up with a custom color I mixed, or what the customer picked from "the book". We had a strict policy of having the customers clean their car as much as possible before bringing it in to be painted. Dry sanded with 180 then 320 on a "jitterbug" sander. Pre- detailed and checked over with a florescent light bar behind me to see any un sanded places, where it might not have been feather edged correctly sanded and primed, wet sanded and blocked. You must got one he'll of a deal for $500.00. Considering our base paint job started out a $350.00/ door jamba, under the trunk and hood was extra, so was stepping up to sealer before paint or having Urethane paint sprayed. No surprise it was done in 1 day. As an average we painted 5-6 cars a day. I even had my 73 RS camaro painted at E.S. BUT I purchased my own paint in Higher Orange from the body shop store and they still charged me $99.95 but had a real real nice paint job. Over spray is to be expected then cleaned up later. I personally would have went with a Red or Burgundy- with metallic- Acrylic Enamel. Interesting to see what the Jaguar turns out like. Just think the blue is more for a Mustang or Camaro.
To be honest, I don't care what anyone says, I think it looks absolutely terrific. And having the grille and jaguar name etc (extras) painted, I think that looks neat. For 500 bucks that's a steal.
Ok, I really only tuned in a while back to watch the pizza car saga, but I admit that this Jag has me intrigued. Many, many years ago I had an acquaintance who worked at Winn Dixie with me. He lived in a tumble down shack, all his earnings went for insurance payments, but he owned a Jaguar. He couldn't even afford to get a tune-up on the thing, but by God, he owned a Jag!
Dude i have to take a minuet and say, I watch the standard car rehab shows, like the fast and loud, the counting cars, goin way back to the early two thousands, I’m not big on videos on here where they show and refers cars and she the work cause the hosts are usually douchey, but I totally enjoy your channel! You seem like a genuine guy, and you explain everything honestly and I love that! Keep up the good work and I’ll keep watching!
Always enjoy your videos. Whenever I have Econo paint any of my cars, I remove anything that I do not want paint on.. especially mirrors. I also back tape my door jambs, and place paper in front of radiators, condensers, etc.
You trolling this poor shop is like ordering a value meal from McDonald’s and comparing it to a prime rib dinner. You got what you paid for. This is an owner fail.
Richard Desvousges im sure he didnt point out what not to paint,. Yeah they are professionals but you got to tell them dobt paint the mesh when you say paint my grill
Wow, that deck of cards trick. For painting wheels, was awesome. I've watched a bunch of life hack videos, and have never seen anything that helpful. I'm subscribing.
Videos like this make me think what should my first car be. Then I think I should learn to drive. Finally i realize I'm 23 and should have done this all by now.
Meeker Extreme what I don't understand is he's good at putting cars back together why didn't you just take the bumper off like you're supposed to and take the grill out and all that
My family (at least mom and dad) always tell them to hand tighten them. What could be like a 10 minute wheel change somewhere turns into an hour+ of waiting on a service vehicle or rollback or something. Total BS.
I've discover shit like this before. Learned a long time ago to add a length(4-6ft) of pipe over the wrench. Adds enough leverage to pop the lugs loose. Has always worked for me.
For under 500 bucks it can't be beat. I watched your vid a second time on my 60" TV and one thing really stood out. The booger in your nose! Hilarious! Couldn't take my eyes off it after that. Thanks for the vids Sam, I really enjoy your videos and great attitude.
Sam why don’t you build your own paint booth on your farm that would be such s cool build it’s really something I’m interested in you could even do work on the side to make some money
arethouready - It sounds like a great idea, but when you put in a paint booth it's a pain in the ass because of all the EPA regs and etc. Then, if you get snitched on by someone and the EPA shows up, youre in for a REALLY big surprise (hint: a fine from HELLLLL, hehe). Given that his channel is public, I could see some haters causing some real trouble for him. :/
Being a painter myself, I'd definitely suggest cleaning off the intercooler. I get a lot of over spray on my work Truck especially on the front and there's times where my truck will overheat due to it. That's a must watch.
I can't believe this came from a company, it's really bad even for the price! There's really no excuse for some of these mistakes, money can't buy common sense I guess, holy shit. Great color though, but poorly implemented. You could have done a better job yourself, it's like the person doing it was blind.
I hate the color, i dont like that the idiots literally masked nothing off, and i would be flipping my lid. You paid them 500 bucks to ruin your car. Ive done nicer work in my yard while watching 3 toddlers half drunk!
They have literally damaged his car by painting the intercooler... It will be less efficient now. There's no way I'd look at a car of mine after they did that job and say it was "decent".
You have no idea what you're talking about, everybody thinks they can paint a car because they painted a model once when they were 13. For 500 dollars if you want a 5000 dollar job you need to do all the masking yourself and I mean mask everything because you're not paying that shop to do it and that shop is not making hardly any money on your job especially not enough to spend half a day masking. These shops offer these cheap jobs for cheap people and only make money from volume. That being said for 500 bucks I think it turned out pretty damn good my shop wouldn't paint one fender for 500.
correct I ran a spray shop offering similar deal, most people are realistic on what they are getting then there are the people who think Charlie Hutton is going to strip their car to pieces paint it , reassemble it for a fraction of what the big companies charge.
All of those 'fails' were the result of your poor prep job. You should have masked all of that stuff off. For $500, it looks like they did a great job.
I sure he assumed the body shop was going to mask it off, as anyone would have expected. I get that a cheap paint job isn't going to get a lot of prep at the body shop, but you'd think they would at least mask everything off!
I know two people who had professional looking paint done at Maaco: both did all of the prep themselves including sanding, priming, block sanding, and masking. They towed their car to Maaco and masked it onsite. A nice paint job takes a LOT of labor: 90% of it is in preparation for paint.
ur better off using a pipe over ur ratchet (but a breaker bar is much better..not a torque wrench) to loosen those lug nuts...that's a huge risk for injury standing on the ratchet like that.
I'd say you got your money's worth. I just painted a cushman truckster and had close to $600 in just the paint, clear coat, reducer and hardner. Us old timers refer to that blue, and especially the blue on the new Toyota Landcruisers as "Earl Sheib Blue", who was at the fore front of high volume cheap paint jobs a long time ago.
I think the blue trunk release button (and other trim) is actually nicer than a black button that would stand out a lot. More stealth. Sorry Sam, but I can't help think baby blue when I see that color. Not that it's a bad color. It stands out for sure! As long as you like it that is what matters. So well, it's the Baby Jag now :)
They do SO Little prep at discount paint places. I would have to mask the car off myself if I went to a place like that... I can't stand painted gaskets and mouldings that should be masked off. But for 500, I guess I couldn't complain too much. The paint (clear) is peeling off my 09 civic like crazy and I won't even paint it unless I'm ready to get a correct paint done. I'd make the shop sign a work order with me that says "mask everything off that I didn't already remove because I can't remove it and acknowledge that I will flip out if you do so!"
Interesting choice, It's not hard to rattle can the wheel wells with some parts store flat black, and it'll look a lot better. It might be a bit of work, but you might think about doing the lower grill in the gun metal to match the wheels, after the paint cures in a month or so.
The clear does have an effect, it might show up more on camera than it does for you in person but there's definitely a blue and purple shift on camera 👌
It’s not over spray. It’s a lazy tape & cover job.
Your damn lucky you didnt snap the lugnuts right off by standing on the rachet. Get a good 4-way or a breaker bar and the right socket. That adapter was good to maybe 75 ft lbs. Your wheels are torqued to 100 + ftlbs.
@@randythompson4006 Snapped one off just the other day... good advice Randy!
but then the price was 500 for a full car not 2000 euros in Ireland. 😂😂😂👍🏼
Owner did the same thing. Didn’t bother to tape the paint while sanding the headlights
Christa Bianchi yup
Should have wrapped it in your favorite sports team instead.
😂😂😂😂😂
😂
That might be gimmick infringement, "The team" might have their legal goofs send Sam the letter saying they own the car
XD
FireAndGasoline 😂
You should paint the inside of the wheel wells black - I think it'll help counteract the cheap paint job look a lot.
That looks like Smurf blue
I laughed my ass off if Papa Smurf was driving and all the smurfs pile out of it
It's also known as Ford blue.
Eugene Krabs
It’s...smurfing blue
don't remove bolts with a torque wrench, it'll kill it. Get a 4ft breaker bar and 1/2 drive 6 point socket
too late the wrench is dicked.
So how is one supposed to torque lh threads?
Or don't be cheap/lazy .. take it to Discount Tire and let them handle it for a few $$ ..
atty garland u sound stupid
For less than $500 your lucky the windows weren't painted solid 😂 I'm actually impressed by it for less than $500. That color looks really cool on it.
Naw u need a reality check that paint is great for 500
Thankyou car looks grate for 500
Looks dam good for under 500
Spray that mesh black again, please.
Glass Elevator I agree.
Nah...red to match the calipers. Then take a can of red and spray all up in there where the trans cooler is.
agreed if anything let the company do it at the same time that they repaint your bumper.
Glass elevator I love your videos
IcantSignIn your joking right? Maybe the intercooler would match the calipers but the entire grill RED?!!?! That ridiculous that'd look like a fucking child's Hotwheels. Mate show me one car with a res grill and blue paint lmao

That jag would look sick with black detailing.
Instead of a Brembo sticker why not Dominos?
lol
Nah fam... Krispey kreme
mipmipmipmipmip But a Dominos sticker would add another 4-8 scoops of salt
Nailed it!
Cause they'll sue the shit out of you.

one could say...They Blue it all.
Were the seats a reference to Rob's BMW? LOL
just wipe it with thinner. simple fix
Or any auto parts store have under coting in cans
don;t put anything on the intercooler lol
Haha I did the same thing with the intercooler when I painted my old Volvo when I was like 17.
So I guess in addition to pre body work it really pays to get your own brown paper and tape off everything you don't want to get over sprayed
Wow. For the price, you got a really nice looking job. I like the color. dapz325
Yeah I agree. A lot of people don't like this colour, but black trim would really set it off.
dapz325 yes definetly
That would make this car look a lot better
Details wrapped in carbon fiber
Nike called and said they left their logo on his shoes and asked him to return the shoes or wrap it in his favorite sports team 🤷🏻♂️
Djrulez203 hahaha good one
rekt
He should just put their logo on all his cars lol
Anthony A lol that would be funny.
When the color shift paint dried it really shows! It looks amazing! I've posted a video to Instagram: instagram.com/samcracc/
Samcrac kick ass
Those wheels look really good Sam! A chameleon effect!
Good luck with your clear coat peeling in 18 months XD
Samcrac So this is the NEW "Food delivery" vehicle Bro!
"Twice as thick twice as durable" 😂😂😂😂 that explains the nasty orange peel
I own a Jaguar S type & I love it. I’m disappointed in seeing such a beautiful car in this hideous color. But hey-if you like it, I can’t knock it!
You're not foolin' me, Sam! That's Grabber as heck! Might as well touch it up with some orange and make it a Gulf Racing Jag! Eheeh!
Just don't use the Gulf logo because that is actually copyright protected for this purpose

Am I the only person who remembers this from JerryRigEverything? It was on durability testing the Blue HTC Ultra
lol
Ya know HTC U Ultra from Zack !

I really like how you did the wheels... I also love the playing cards trick.... I learned something today.... thanks Sam
I love how they just forgot a corner of it
Quality workmanship right there. How could they even let that go out like that.
It could have been because of poor lighting in the spray booth. The bigger question is why wasn't it found and fixed before giving it back.
Daniel Ruskin you get what you pay for
Zajaka what do you mean you can't have 20 mills of paint on a part lol
I had a factory GM car come with thin paint on one of the corners, it would not take a shine. GM quality.
Mesh looks good blue. All in all, can't complain about a cheap paint job. Falls in with the saying, you get what you pay for.
Which would make it like every other car. I think it's accidentally unique. ;)
Actually, if the mesh can be easily separated from the so that it could be painted, I think it'd look great painted to match the wheels.
brian5o if it was chrome I wouldn't be surprised if it just falls off
I like this channel because the title is actually what the video is about, something actually happens in every episode and it’s not just strictly click bait and talk talk talking like 90% of car channels on TH-cam. SamCrac you the man
If they respray the front bumper, you best tape up the intercooler as another 10 passes with the gun will make the small airways a solid block.
Honestly, for the price, I'd be happy. It came out better than I expected.
For that price I'd rather do it in my yard...
For 500 you can't beat it
Agreed, it’s not bad for the cost. Some of these people in the comments seem to think you’ll get a perfect show car paint job for sub 500 bucks.
Jeasus they even painted the trim on the bumpers . WHY
why? because 500bucks that's why
pat mac That doesn't excuse it at all I don't care if it was 500 bucks or not that's part of taping everything off when you Paint something
You don't care? Funny how that works, they also don't care.
it wasn't $500, that was the quote he didn't go with. I'm pretty sure this was $295
lol for 500 bucks its like macco do all the prep and send it to them taped up if you dont want it sprayed everywhere. Cuz they just doing it as fast as they possibly can.
the blue intercooler killed me xD
I think your car is going to look gorgeous when it's fully done. And the fact that it only cost $500 to paint it is truly fabulous.
Sam you’re definitely my new favorite automotive TH-camr. You seem like a genuinely nice dude, I hope all the exposure with the Dominos car gets you more subscribers. Best of luck with everything!
wow, $500!
And come on Sam, you have that huge air compressor, get a real impact gun!
100% next time I'm at the Harbor....
FYI even AvE had great things to say about this one...
th-cam.com/video/jqWypTAG4Hw/w-d-xo.html
If I was in the market I would check it out fo' sho'
Yeah, I was about to comment that the Chicago electric impacts from harbor freight are pretty nice and then I saw that huge air compressor in the background. :)
get some impact sockets.
Ray Charles approved.
P Kuudsk Stevie wonder said two thumbs down
Isn't that blue literally Domino's blue???? LOL. Besides the controversy, I don't like the color. It makes it look less refine.
Looks like something a 16 year old fob would pick.
That blue is going to DELAMINATE over a short time.
nah it was within recoat window itll be fine as far as sticking
@@sethrosenthal most paints can be recoated within a 24 hr period without sanding
Thank you for doing this video, now I learned from you that I should NEVER paint my car there.
Saleh Essawi Not sure if you can get a different shop to do better for 500 bucks tho...
Jakub Kraus i understand your perspective but I would rather save up some extra money (of course it will take a longer time) for a better paint job because the way I see it he just lost 500 bucks.
I've heard stories of macco painting across wheels and tires
mipmipmipmipmip The honesty helps too. I'd rather know what I'm paying for.
If he would have removed the bumper and more of the trim and masked as much as he could himself he could have gotten a better result.
Whilst you still have time you should thinner remove all the over spray. Were I you, i would get on it now. Pronto.
aserta by the time he got it back it was too late.
He'd end up making a worse problem.
Thinner eats the clear coat, it’s too aggressive. Especially because it’s only been a few days since the clear coat was sprayed, it needs weeks to “breathe out” and harden. If anything he should just wait a few days and go over it with a very fine sandpaper (1500grit) and polish it out to remove the haze marring
respectfully.... horrible idea. it would be a disaster.
Chris Yeah, hit the intercooler again so the air is blocked. Smh
bboysfanatic uhhhhh, a light coating to cover up the blue is perfectly fine.
I've had overspray like that before, usually the fender liners are dirty and/or greasy enough that just a quick spray from a pressure sprayer or a quick trip to the car wash will clean the overspray right off! Just be careful of the fresh paint on the car!
Chris how still does that wool have to stay?
It was awful.
fillg lol I hear older folks talk about that place, I can imagine
I'm old enough to remember ".....29.95, no ups, no extras!"
fillg lmoa Earl scheib is still around in my hood here in SD. They're shamefully shitty
dayyuu HAha yup people always talk shit about that place in the car Facebook groups
fillg : Growing up on Youngstown, Ohio.
12:59. I see a second hen coming from under the car. XD
Anyone else see that? ^^
No. You are drunk again...
Yes
I was joking when i said grabber blue.....
To be honest, I don't care what anyone says, I think it looks absolutely terrific. And having the grille and jaguar name etc (extras) painted, I think that looks neat. For 500 bucks that's a steal.
The upper and lower mesh grills need to be fixed for sure, the molding on front doesn't look that bad. I even like the blue trunk button in back.
I don’t know what’s more bootleg. This paint job, or Home Depot bolts as flywheel bolts on Tavarish’s Lambo.
Hugh Jafro Hey! If they have metric bolts that were the correct grade, diameter, thread pitch, and length, what's the deal?! 😂
😂😂😂
As long as they are Grade 8 hex flange bolts, it doesn't matter where he got the bolts from.
Almost everything in Home Depot is from China. You really trust Chinese factory's to adhere to ASTM, SAE and ISO specifications?
Bolt grade has nothing to do with tolerances. You can have a high grade bolt with shit threading and shit hex, allen or torx specs.
John Thomas that’s all that matters!!
Winn Dixie You Canadian ?
Hi Sam!! Hope you're doing ok with everything thats going on💜
Ohhhh god! This all for content lady. The guy is obviously living a life of leisure
Yeah Brendan and possibly eating more pizza than he can handle. Happy days.
OK. I had to pause at 10:40. I've painted a number of wheels in my life. I LOVE the playing card trick! Had never seen it.
Chris Fix painted some wheels and used Cue cards to mask off the tire.
Look up the story of the guy who used some old magic the gathering cards. Turns out one was worth a loooooot of money
Playing cards, cue cards, index cards. They all work. Been using that method for years with no over spray.
mighty car mods does that too
@@nubreed13 dude dont diss MCM by comparing them to this trashfire haha
Dude i have to take a minuet and say, I watch the standard car rehab shows, like the fast and loud, the counting cars, goin way back to the early two thousands, I’m not big on videos on here where they show and refers cars and she the work cause the hosts are usually douchey, but I totally enjoy your channel! You seem like a genuine guy, and you explain everything honestly and I love that! Keep up the good work and I’ll keep watching!
K-Mart blue Jaguar. 🤪
Don't give their lawyers any ideas.... LoL
K-Mart is red? Lol Blue Light Special?
I was thinking Domino's blue... -ducks-
Thumbs up for kmart
That is one lousy job. But that's what you get for 2-300$..
This paint shops main business are car dealers wanting to spiff up a back row special so he can get and extra $1000 out it.
Dead ass i got my paint job done in tj for like 800 tops nd it came out way better than this
That is EXACTLY what they told me; mostly dealers getting the cheap jobs.
Exactly
Sam you can't say we didn't warn youuuuuuu
Georgie Mac he is not smart enough to listen to people that actually know
Always enjoy your videos. Whenever I have Econo paint any of my cars, I remove anything that I do not want paint on.. especially mirrors. I also back tape my door jambs, and place paper in front of radiators, condensers, etc.
Dude. You don't need to call anything an epic fail for views. You got good material. That's all you need.
You trolling this poor shop is like ordering a value meal from McDonald’s and comparing it to a prime rib dinner. You got what you paid for. This is an owner fail.
He literally said for what he paid he can't complain.
And then made a 13min video ragging on them.
While putting an epic fail sticker on the splash screen...
Richard Desvousges gotta bait those clicks, my guy.
Richard Desvousges im sure he didnt point out what not to paint,. Yeah they are professionals but you got to tell them dobt paint the mesh when you say paint my grill
I use macco al the time u get what u pay for .yours is good for price no runs is a win....
You painted it Smurf blue😂 I love it
Wow, that deck of cards trick. For painting wheels, was awesome. I've watched a bunch of life hack videos, and have never seen anything that helpful. I'm subscribing.
Videos like this make me think what should my first car be. Then I think I should learn to drive. Finally i realize I'm 23 and should have done this all by now.
Well You paid for a "Paint job" You didn't pay for the labor for a quality masking job.
Brenda L yeah he did the the prep on it he could have taped it off
Yes, I have been following Sam's site for several months I saw his prep work. I'm just saying: He got what he paid for "A Paint job". Nothing more.
Meeker Extreme what I don't understand is he's good at putting cars back together why didn't you just take the bumper off like you're supposed to and take the grill out and all that
damn! the *Hulk* 💪 musta put those lugs on!
Some scumbag mechanics do this. Supposedly it's a trick to ensure you have to employ their services. Though I'd never visit such a shop again.
Damn not only did you do the body and prep work but they want you to do the masking too😂😂😂
Killa Namikaze Masking is still prep work so...
For under 500 bucks it can't be beat. I watched your vid a second time on my 60" TV and one thing really stood out. The booger in your nose! Hilarious! Couldn't take my eyes off it after that. Thanks for the vids Sam, I really enjoy your videos and great attitude.
Watched part 1. Naturally, had to come back for part 2. Car looks great!
That color looks fabulous. I suggested baby blue and it kinda is! Great job Sam and for only $500 that's pretty sick
be nice Robert.
Until you're 10 feet away.
Nike shoes, with Puma socks, and Reebok Shorts? Come on you’re better than this.😂
what did you use to polish your headlights? ive got to do some work to mine on my car its kinda like driving by candle light at this point for me
Mike2321x look up chrisfix's vido on headlight cleaning
pretty cool how you’re actually making shit happen yourself and taking the time to
do it properly unlike 90% of the people on youtube
Samcrac is the type of guy who preps the body with 80 grit and brake calipers with 600 grit.
Gentlemen set your guns to orangepeel.
Heh!
AvE couldn't have said it better himself. th-cam.com/users/arduinoversusevil
W. Bush Holy hell. I never realized that AvE really stood for anything. That url just blew my mind.
Sam why don’t you build your own paint booth on your farm that would be such s cool build it’s really something I’m interested in you could even do work on the side to make some money
You know why he can't, why ask ? He'd walk away for a moment, and come back to a cow painted french racing blue!
arethouready - It sounds like a great idea, but when you put in a paint booth it's a pain in the ass because of all the EPA regs and etc. Then, if you get snitched on by someone and the EPA shows up, youre in for a REALLY big surprise (hint: a fine from HELLLLL, hehe).
Given that his channel is public, I could see some haters causing some real trouble for him. :/
Buy one less salvage car and get yourself some real tools.
eag 8999 that’s what I was thinking, “there like so over torqued” lol 😂
Being a painter myself, I'd definitely suggest cleaning off the intercooler. I get a lot of over spray on my work Truck especially on the front and there's times where my truck will overheat due to it. That's a must watch.
Looks good! No runs or anything. Overspray is part of life.
I don't think painting the mesh on the grill being painted the same color. Is a fail, what is a fail is painting the inner cooler.
Its an intercooler just for reference
RCXDerp opps lol
I wonder why intercooler manufacturers sell painted ones from the factory if it's so terrible?
goocherrific it’s just that it’s the same as body colour
RCXDerp but what about the outer cooler? :D
I can't believe this came from a company, it's really bad even for the price! There's really no excuse for some of these mistakes, money can't buy common sense I guess, holy shit. Great color though, but poorly implemented. You could have done a better job yourself, it's like the person doing it was blind.
great color??
Looks like Dominos blue!!!!
Shh don't give dominos another reason to go after him!
with red calipers and "silver" wheels.
Pedro Borges he should put pizza rims on it hahahaha
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Some people might even have said “wilder” or “glossier”. Great look for the S-Type.
I like u did this on a Budget. That anybody can do or give somebody good idea. Love the color. Keep up the good work
All of those 'fails' were the result of your poor prep job. You should have masked all of that stuff off. For $500, it looks like they did a great job.
exactly!
For $500 he should've just painted it himself with results just as good or potentially better
Yeah, drive your car to the paint shop all taped up. Good luck seeing out the windows and getting in the car after you've taped it, though.
Backyard Chevy I'm not the only one that picked up on him killing a torque wrench then...very cringe worthy moment!
Poor torque wrench. Those are expensive! And surely standing on it will put it slightly out of calibration.
Was going to say, probably not the best idea to jump on your torque wrench... probably puts it out of calibration
be careful, KFC may come at you next for that chicken 😂😂😂.... Good video 👍🏽👍🏽
Good paint job for the price but I think painting the intercooler is just them being too lazy I'd be a little upset about that myself
"Its twice as durable" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 jesus christ
Please invest in a breaker bar.
I thought for sure he was going to break a lug by bouncing on it like that. I've broke them without standing on it.
Interesting choice, It's not hard to rattle can the wheel wells with some parts store flat black, and it'll look a lot better. It might be a bit of work, but you might think about doing the lower grill in the gun metal to match the wheels, after the paint cures in a month or so.
For those stuck lug nuts: position the breaker bar so you will pull up to lossen and place a jack under the handle to apply tourque. Works well.
You wanted paint, you got paint! Great color, just watch out for the Po-pos, you'll stick out like a sore thumb! Go gators!
David Patterson would be proud
You should've gone with the jag green instead
I cant believe you paid money for that paint job. American workmanship at its finest
The clear does have an effect, it might show up more on camera than it does for you in person but there's definitely a blue and purple shift on camera 👌
