Hi Samcrac! I just found your channel recently and have been enjoying the videos. I use to run Nitrous in two of my cars. I would recommend two options (both cheap-ish) instead of using a button (which is a driving hazard since you always need to be pressing it). The cheapest option is a momentary arm switch (NX makes one, the micro throttle switch). You can mount it either on the throttle body or behind the gas pedal. If your TB is cable controlled with a spring and you can reach it, put it there. When you're at WOT, the spring arm on the TB will reach over and press the microswitch to engage the solenoids. OR mount it behind the gas pedal, but have it adjusted so it is only being pressed when you have it pressed all the way to the floor. With this method, it will only engage and spray when you are at WOT, if you let off even a little bit (depending how you have the switch adjusted) it will disengage the solenoid. --- The other method is a bit more expensive, but worth it (plus you can move all of this to the next project car when the time comes). Get an RPM window switch. Simply put, its a small box you hook up to a few wires (one will read your RPMs). You then set your minimum/maximum value for the RPM Window. When the RPMs reach that value, it engages the solenoids. When it's outside of that value, it disengages the solenoids. IT's completely automated so there's zero guess work in "when is the best time to use it". You of course would wire both methods up with your arm switch to power it completely off when not in use. Thanks for all of the fun video content!
I would mount the button and switch where the ashtray is. When its not needed it's hiden, leaving no hints (a little bit sleeper) and when you ready for action, open the ashtray (when the button and switch are mounted in the ashtray you don't have an ashtray anymore obviously) and you have all your controlls in reach.
I got to go with steering wheel for the fire button, have less movement of your right hand, yeah it sucks to pull it apart, but it's unlikely you will change it so if you think it's better put it there the first time.
Button on the shifting knob would be a good idea. Ýou can do it at the top or the side of the knob. That way you don't have to damage the panel and you can replace the standard knob to aftermarket ones if you're not happy with it. Keep up the good work Sam, I enjoy your videos very much!!!🤘
Yeah, You could always play sounds over the speakers! hahaha! If your car is stripped down including all the sound deadening the Jag has you may hear a gas sound, But it will likely just sound like the nitrous your dentist puts you on with a lot more pressure.
Samcrac, you worry me. You had that car backed up on the ramps but not all the way on the flat part, it was still partially on the inclined part, a definite rolling hazard. I couldn't see if you blocked your front wheels but it may not have made any difference if you had and that car started rolling. You put your head right in front of that back wheel! Please be careful! Everybody using ramps: Pull your vehicle up until it rests on the level area, then its stable, and then set your E-brake and then chock it.
Seriously, so lucky. Even a block of wood or a small rubber chock can easily be rolled over, and ebrake is not always effective when worn out. Always fully seat on ramps.
Samcrac. Here's just a little tidbit that might help or work for people. I had a small truck line (Dry freight) years ago. And by chance did some automotive moves. On 53 ft vans with logistic posts. Worked great. Common sense has to be used. Like any other freight being nose loaded. and a secured. (like if you have a half load) Nothing high enough to fall backwards on the cars. Used ratchet straps. And would run them through the wheels forward. Then the same backwards. Always did extra and would also strap through the car (windows down) same way. Use small piece rug as strap protectors. Never had one move. Now the trick to make this work great on both sides is using a warehouse that has a drive in and dock to truck. (Most warehouses today have this) Or a local auto dealer who has a outside dock ramp. As a side note. Always make sure there is no cardboard between the trailer walls and auto or truck . So if you have a family member or friend who is a Independent trucker with their (Own Authority) and the move works for the area they are in. Talk to them.
I'd suggest putting the buttons in the middle console between the seats. It's where alot of people put after market stereo's if they want to keep the car looking stock.
Love the S type, to me one of the most beautiful cars around. Still don't quite know what to think of this babyblue, nitrous injected, reflector missing one though. It may be growing on me
Here is an idea for your nitrous switches. Make a small panel out of plexiglass or metal that you can mount under the wooden door that covers the ashtray (visible at 9:13). This will keep you from having to cut your trim panels and even give you the ability to hide the buttons by closing the ashtray cover where they are not needed or you want to trick someone into a race ;).
I like the nitrous on the Jaguar! It works great! I'd try to drill some holes on the center console plate itself, but you might wanna buy another one at a parts yard just in case it doesn't work well. ^^ So. Did you get Hoovie's Bentley Continental GT?
I wouldn't normally suggest it, but a self done carbon style vinyl wrap on the interior wood trim pieces would make that old cats interior look less dated and a bit more sporty. that way if you did cut the trim to fit the nos button, it would be easy to fill and recover if you wanted to remove the kit or move the button.
See if you can get that same trim piece from a junkyard or eBay. If not, I've done sneaky switches in the bottom of ashtrays before. I've always liked the idea of replacing the cigarette lighter with a push button. Also you might want to shrink wrap those switch terminals. If they touch the body, they'll arc. The marine shrink tube at Harbor Freight is cheap and works well. That's how I do mine.
I have to say, great video. I love the color you picked for the car and the rims. Looks amazing. For the buttons I’d recommend on the bezel next to the shifter on the left side and getting or modifying the top of the shifter to make it shorter so you’re finger is closer to the nos buttons.
I would mount the switches in the ash tray...or...send off your shift handle to someone who can fab up a switch at your thumb spot. I would not mess up the factory trim. Keep the NOS switches invisible or out of sight.
Sam, really love this project, my Father in law had a S Type V6 3 years ago and it's a great car. Would love to try an Supercharged one! For the buttons, question on just getting a bit of wood and cutting it to shape for the gear surround and stuck down - or have someone 3D print a switch holder to place somewhere of your choosing (perhaps inside the ash tray).
I would get a button that straps to the steering wheel and can unplug when not in use. Also if you use a window switch you can have it shut off right before the shift so you don't have to mess with it by hand.
Put your spray button at the throttle. That way when you are at WOT it sprays and as soon as you let off it stops. You can put the arm switch off to the side out of site
I have seen a lot of cars blow up from people using a push button to activate nitrous. Using a RPM window switch is the best and safest way to get the most power out of a nitrous kit. There are a lot of great controllers that utilize wideband O2 sensors to monitor air fuel ratio! Good luck be safe.
Get a gas pedal switch that opens the solenoid on wide open throttle. Then you can mount your on off switch anywhere. I think this would be a much better solution.
Sam - really good suggestion here... talk to your lawyer... ask him if this video may open you up to a civil law suit someday if you are ever in a accident and the injured party finds it on line. I know it sounds crazy but I used to be the marketing guy at a firm and I can tell you they used to search social info for stuff just like this. Hate to rain on your parade, but I like you and think you should pull this, edit out the MPH section and the possible wreck and then repost it. Seriously you could be risking your entire estate for a few likes. Keep up the cool videos.
What about mouthing the switches behind the door in front of the shifter? Maybe make a Metal mounting bracket and drill holes in it to mount the switches.
Hook the nitrous up to the steering wheel cruise control buttons boostedboiz did it with the 700 hp van for the exhaust cutout all u have to do is hook the wires up before they go into the clockspring in the wheel
stealth install idea-: install a change over relay and use the cars steering wheel horn to activate the nitrous kit. no cutting required, and the horn will work as normal when the nitrous kit is turned off.
Doesn't matter now but the biggest would be AF ratio and bottle pressure. If you don't know those two, especially 2 FI's, not good.I like the activation at WOT, either signal or mechanically. Not holding a button.
I wouldn’t have the nitrous spraying while the car is shifting regardless of automatically or manually shifting. In either mode the engine is closing the throttle some to allow the rpms to drop for shifting. Have nitrous and fuel spraying while the car is doing that could do some damage.
Have you thought about doing a video with Cleetus McFarland? He has a dyno in the shop he is partner's with and also has a salvage corvette although he took a different direction with the build up of it.
Would have a cleaner look if you wired the activate button to one of the buttons on the steering wheel. This way it looks less ricey. All in all I'm impressed...
I've got this car, the J-gate gear selector for this 6 speed S type R is a joke, was more useful in the older 4 speed auto jags. Best just put it in D and floor it, and the sport mode makes a big difference. Always have traction off as it's dangerous when it kills the power on a bend.
One of my coworkers just started financing a 2018 Mitsubishi mirage for $380 per month for a total for $16000. I feel so bad for him he's not a car guy at all he just bought it because it's "cheap" and new. He could of gotten 3 of these jags.
How exotic this this car and engine really? It's built on a Ford DEW98 chassis, essentially a Lincoln LS. Same engine with a stroked crankshaft. According to Jaguar, it's already capable of 500hp with pulley changes for the supercharger and ECU mods without nitrous.
Sam, your orange/red cordless gizmo that you use to remove bolts in inaccessible areas, what is it please? I’ve been wanting something like that for years! 😉
You add nitrous and fuel when you push button so the controls are probably just leaning out the mixture to compensate while retarding the spark. IDT you get anything extra. Let's see.
hey my aunt lives next to a airport and thay just sold it and a copart is moving in so i i found your chanel helping her and i was warnding if thay keep ther lots clean ish she is just wored about rats and the smell
The bottle should have been mounted front-to-rear (NOT side-to-side) so that under acceleration, the nitrous is forced to flow TOWARDS the pickup tube... not up the side of the bottle which could result in the pickup tube becoming uncovered, and starved of nitrous. ALSO... get rid of the restrictive factory air filter and plumbing... those resonant tubes don't help airflow, and with the increased airflow demands with the nitrous, it should help in the HP department.
Why not install them in the ashtray make a filler plate. They are covered intel you flip open the cover. Also no out in the open where could be touched.
Have you tried shifting your jag manually? I had an XJR and it was unusable due to slow shifts and difficulty getting the shifter into the correct gear and staying there. Hopefully yours will be better.
The new car was JUST DELIVERED! It will be the BEST car I've rebuilt to date!!!
Samcrac That's lit
R8 hopefully
Papa Johns delivery car? 😂

Another Domino's car??
hide the switch in the coin holder area. When its closed to looks stock open it up and you got your switch .

He could have put the button on the wheel and since his car is automatic it wouldn't be much of a driving hazard
RPM Window switches are legit
I would mount the button and switch where the ashtray is. thank you samcrac for having consistently good content and treating us viewers good
I love how he just casually shoots in front of the pizza car....
can I get a cheese pizza with extra nitrous
gallo 12 or 24?
24
Cheese Pizza *Blank thousand mile stare* *shudders*
Awesome video Sam! I just sold the Yukon, and the G5 today so it's time to hit the auction myself again.

Pretty disappointed it doesn’t make the same noise as the one in 2 fast 2 furious :(
Yeah, You could always play sounds over the speakers! hahaha! If your car is stripped down including all the sound deadening the Jag has you may hear a gas sound, But it will likely just sound like the nitrous your dentist puts you on with a lot more pressure.
The buttons should be on the steering wheel like from fast and the furious
Axillary Gaming imagine taking your kids to school and you accidentally press the nitrous button. Lol 😂
You and Tavarish should do a cross over video, you guys live somewhat close since you both are in Florida
Samcrac, you worry me. You had that car backed up on the ramps but not all the way on the flat part, it was still partially on the inclined part, a definite rolling hazard. To me that blue screams '72 Maverick.
Cypress Thunder it's the worst times of jag.
my 72 maverick was a disgusting factory gold colour, i would have loved a blue like that!

i appreciate these TH-camrs going to Mexico to test their cars ;)
I got a Domino's ad before this video...
tmanepic take their money sam.
First Name Last Name do what my dad says sam!
Me too!!
Same and I'm from Australia
Love your videos bro! Coming from a small TH-camr myself you really motivate me to keep grinding.

fuel line is designed that way because of ethanol. Your new fuel lines will not last. just FYI.
So thankful for the fast forward button.
Dude this build is awesome! I can’t wait for the next video. I say definitely mount the buttons right on the console.
Samcrac just put it in the ash tray you're never going to use the ashtray and you could use the door to cover it up and keep it hidden
The Mexico joke was funny. Keep it up man!
I would mount the switches in the ash tray...or...send off your shift handle to someone who can fab up a switch at your thumb spot. I would not mess up the factory trim. Keep the NOS switches invisible or out of sight.

Your wheels turned out well Sam; looking good :)
did u ever fix the grill? paint it chrome or black?
Get a gas pedal switch that opens the solenoid on wide open throttle. Then you can mount your on off switch anywhere. I think this would be a much better solution.
Hey Sam nice job on the nitrous install as far as the buttons for the nitrous I would just put them where you said. Have a good time in Mexico
Sam - really good suggestion here... talk to your lawyer... ask him if this video may open you up to a civil law suit someday if you are ever in a accident and the injured party finds it on line. Man that color is so so nice
Put the buttons in the ashtray behind the shifter. Just make a small plate and make it so the door can still close.
Good thing your Jag didn’t end up like Brian O’Conner’s GTR when you used nitrous
that was the eclipse not the gtr
Nice work Sam, I'd like that button on the wheel I think.
You need to use jackstands with ramps unless you want to end up dead.
to change the plugs on my sons Acadia? The whole top of the motor had to come off, a three hour shoptime tuneup! AND it requires special tools...
Put it on the floor, like the high beam switch for and old Chevy, so you can press it with your left foot
stealth install idea-:
install a change over relay and use the cars steering wheel horn to activate the nitrous kit.
no cutting required, and the horn will work as normal when the nitrous kit is turned off.
hello samcrac ..... 501 hp soon🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Andrew is vlogging S#!T that would be awesome especially if it makes that power to the wheels
Your camera is fantastic!
Doesn't matter now but the biggest would be AF ratio and bottle pressure. If you don't know those two, especially 2 FI's, not good.I like the activation at WOT, either signal or mechanically. Not holding a button.
Have you thought about remote wireless buttons? Possibly Bluetooth? Then you could mount the switches anywhere.
Have you thought of hiding the switches inside the ashtray? It would save you from drilling any trim pieces.
I wouldn’t have the nitrous spraying while the car is shifting regardless of automatically or manually shifting. In either mode the engine is closing the throttle some to allow the rpms to drop for shifting. Have nitrous and fuel spraying while the car is doing that could do some damage.
I have this car and all it has been is problems for the past 14 years.... Best of luck with it.
That standard fuel line and hose clamps are not recommendedfor fuel injection lines. If it springs a leak you could have a fire.
Perhaps you could make some sort of bracket inside the ashtray for the nitrous button?
Have you thought about doing a video with Cleetus McFarland? He has a dyno in the shop he is partner's with and also has a salvage corvette although he took a different direction with the build up of it.
Like any force induction engine that has nitro hooked up its going to increase the effectiveness of the nitro shot.
Glad the DXP is still there. I want to hear any news about the DXP. Hopefully dominos finally decided to back off.
Hey Samcar,
Why don't you make a plate to hold both and mount it in the ash tray compartment. that way they are hidden when it is closed.
Hope yea put red thread lock on that plug!! 🙄
Sure did
Would have a cleaner look if you wired the activate button to one of the buttons on the steering wheel. This way it looks less ricey. All in all I'm impressed...
Why not run the switch/button through the ashtray? Just a thought. Nice video Sam.
Those cars are okay but I'm really liking your stables, throw some thoroughbreds in there
It would be amazing to see you port the heads. Free horsepower if you have the tools
next project, jeep 4.0 i6 straight pipe .. just for the sound. literally the best noice ever
at the end of the video you safety comment... my wife just said " thats what the cop said" lol
I've got this car, the J-gate gear selector for this 6 speed S type R is a joke, was more useful in the older 4 speed auto jags. Best just put it in D and floor it, and the sport mode makes a big difference. Always have traction off as it's dangerous when it kills the power on a bend.
Time to take the Jag down some sandy roads and see how much dust you can kick up.
Hahahhaha I like how you start off the video with you and the Pizza car in back. :)
One of my coworkers just started financing a 2018 Mitsubishi mirage for $380 per month for a total for $16000. I feel so bad for him he's not a car guy at all he just bought it because it's "cheap" and new. He could of gotten 3 of these jags.
Oye compa, everyone in Mexico is a good driver.
How exotic this this car and engine really? It's built on a Ford DEW98 chassis, essentially a Lincoln LS. Same engine with a stroked crankshaft. According to Jaguar, it's already capable of 500hp with pulley changes for the supercharger and ECU mods without nitrous.
You mentioned Alex at LegitStreetCars!! His channel is OUTSTANDING! You’re getting great advice if you’re talking to him.
Love your video's. Keep up the good work!
I'm really beginning to like this car now and have no idea why
Sam, your orange/red cordless gizmo that you use to remove bolts in inaccessible areas, what is it please? I’ve been wanting something like that for years! 😉
The hardest plugs I did we’re in a 2009 Wrangler. If I remember right the passenger side was angled back towards the firewall
Ah memories of a Chevrolet venture spark plugs v6 with the rear spark plugs toward the fire wall
You know the designers don’t think of ease of maintenance
About time you post we thought Dominos kidnapped you
Try to install spark plugs on a Subaru Boxer engine where they are facing the unibody
New project, the brown chicken cooks its buddy in the pizza car and steels the unfinished Vette. Joy rides, and picks up chicks.
VinWiki has a really good video on car shipping nightmares.
I loled when I seen the nitrous scenes from Fast & Furious!
You add nitrous and fuel when you push button so the controls are probably just leaning out the mixture to compensate while retarding the spark. IDT you get anything extra. Let's see.
Is Cleetus McFarland anywhere in your area? He has a Dyno, might make a neat crossover video....
hey my aunt lives next to a airport and thay just sold it and a copart is moving in so i i found your chanel helping her and i was warnding if thay keep ther lots clean ish she is just wored about rats and the smell
Wet kit is wayyyyy safer then a dry. Dry kits require lots of fuel mapping and programming
Is that a Pizza hut van I see behind you Sam🤔 no it's Dominos😂🤣😅😭🤣😂😭🤣😂
Very high high quality bungee cord
The bottle should have been mounted front-to-rear (NOT side-to-side) so that under acceleration, the nitrous is forced to flow TOWARDS the pickup tube... not up the side of the bottle which could result in the pickup tube becoming uncovered, and starved of nitrous. Also WOT switch is the way to go... holding a button is asking for explosive problems.
ALSO... get rid of the restrictive factory air filter and plumbing... those resonant tubes don't help airflow, and with the increased airflow demands with the nitrous, it should help in the HP department.
New project cars! I'm excited
In Mexico on a closed course ) *wink wink*
Mexico/Florida they look the same. Thankfully it's pretty easy to put his car on a transport for a 5,000 mile trip to test the nitros. ;-)
Why not install them in the ashtray make a filler plate. They are covered intel you flip open the cover. Also no out in the open where could be touched.
Don't you think you've milked that Domino's Pizza car enough already? 😂
Have you tried shifting your jag manually? I had an XJR and it was unusable due to slow shifts and difficulty getting the shifter into the correct gear and staying there. Hopefully yours will be better.
Wait, he had the DXP car front end wrapped.
H&P Customs Only the colors on the replacement hood.
