I am shocked as well. Arancio Argos is one of my favorite colors and I looked into having a motorcycle of mine painted that. Looked into the process of getting that color and it's like 7 layers. Absolutely bonkers color.

People talk smack about maaco, but really fail to appreciate how insanely challenging it can be to repaint a car to the level that no discernible correction was performed. Tough business to be in! Bravo maaco!
Ehh... I've never had a maaco paint job but it literally looks like they dip it into melted crayon. They don't remove badges lights weather stripping or spray any interior areas.. on that note a solid paint job can run 3-5k and take weeks. Scraped bumper? Faded hood or trunk lid? Maaco all day!
Justin Miner Absolutely this. Hoovie’s point about how not every Maaco is going to be this good is true. Any independently franchised business is going to have variance from store to store. Finding a shop like Scooby’s is gold, you get the low pricing of a national chain with an owner/management that actually cares about the product they deliver. I worked at a chain tech fix shop for a few years, and while I wouldn’t recommend them on a national basis due to their habit of hiring ex-subway employees rather than competent technicians - our local shop ran things right and we built loyalty with customers multiple times the national average.
@@fergamis Well, they'll do all the above.. just not for $1k. Plus, $5k and a several down weeks is out of the question for almost any daily use vehicle.
@@theboldfuture2341 Of course, we don't know how much Hoovie paid for the work. He gets a discounted shop rate with both the Car Wizard and Car Ninja for volume and exposure. And Hoovie has publicly bashed local businesses who haven't met his standards. But you make a good point that the quality of the work from a local franchise is highly dependent on the ethics of the owner/management and the talents of the technicians they can hire.
You could tell if you seen it in person. It's almost impossible to 100% match paint like they did.

That all businesses for the most part. And so many are not that good anymore. Customer service so just about gone out the window. Good chance you will be talking to someone in some other country talking with broken English. And being put on hold than talk to someone else than put on hold again and a hr later you finally talk to someone.

But they suck here also you get the same thing here no one wants to pay for customer service any longer. You get good and bad here and their. Hell you can call for a doctor appointment and have to be on hold for 30 minutes or longer. Because they got a few people answering the phone for a hole building of doctors in the old days you talk to someone in your doctors office that knew you less and less now. They act Ike no one is making money now so they act like they got to save every dime. You don’t know what to believe anymore if it just greed or are things really not that good. Plus there will always be them third world countries that businesses will use for slave labor if not China than some other country.

I must say for the money you can’t complain. But not sure if their is one around me anymore the one closed that I used before a while back. I didn’t know they were still around until I seen them on u tube. I look the closest one is 30 miles away. I don’t think I will be going to it.

Then when he received it back he detailed it and fixed all the broken pieces to resell the car he loves. He spends tons of money rebuilding crappy classics that the no mechanic would fix unless he over pays.

I had Maaco paint my Jeep, they exceeded my expectations to the point where I didn’t end up wheeling it to death like I originally planned
@Anthony Bell it was a 85 cj7 I put a 383 in. Spent $2,000 on the paint... guys did me a solid and made the body very straight and smooth.. 3 coats of clear and they cut and buffed it to a mirror shine. I really just wanted a “maaco” looks good at 30 feet paint job and ended up with better than any factory paint job

Man I brought my old Acura TL to Maaco after someone backed into my door but they wouldn't touch it because "it might not turn out good" and they didn't want me to tell other ppl Maaco did it. Got that Earl Scheib paintjob for $399 instead, turned out good enough to sell a week later lol.

There's nothing like a "pristine original Lamborghini paint" - Lambos, especially from this era are notorious for their bad paint jobs.
One would think when you charge that much for a car brand new they could at least give you a decent paint job.
The fit and finish in general looks like a dog's breakfast on this example. The interior is hideous, I just don't get the attraction, especially when you consider the reliability and the cost of repairs/ownership.

I've worked in the auto body trade for 36 years. Everyone always praises the manager. The techs did the work, give them a rip in the car.

It's nice that they've fixed the mistake, but for the rest of us, we'd be stuck with a typical maaco shit paint job.

Ryan Paaz from what I’ve gathered, Maaco paint jobs can vary from shop to shop.
I look at them as a fast food chain. McDonalds can have different franchise owners and the service you receive can be drastically different depending on your expectations and the staff’s pride of work.
Better to judge Maaco shop by shop then as a company imo
In 1988, took a '73 olds to maco, they painted the car the wrong color, repainted but scratched the door chrome and missed under the front bumper repainted under the bumper, stole the dome light, blew the back speaker, and I had 3/4 less gas than when it was brought in. Took exactly 2 months to do all this.
The split interior is a Lamborghini thing. The limited production Reventon was split half Alcantara and half leather the same way.
are you sure, lamborghini of old just put what they had in the workshop on their cars back in the day, including metric and non metric bolts on the same build as what they had is what they had lol

also some italian cars were designed by americans, the guy who designed the fiat 124 was american, so who knows, maybe the marshall plan had a load of materials and they had them left over from just after the war and they made the best of it
either that or maybe it was a part they had off of one of their tractors.

I had Maaco paint my old Jeep CJ5, and for what i paid for, I was really impressed by the quality of their work. Then again, I wasn't expecting for a showroom paintjob.
i used them on a cheap 95 vette cost $2700 full paint nice candy red they cheaped out a bit on some small body work but the car looked good three and a half star rating but i would never take a lambo there
@@searaydrivingguy I paid like $1,200 for my Jeep, but that was 10 years ago. There was also a lot less labor involved, because my Jeep is probably half the size of your Corvette. :)

I love love love it when a business owner takes pride in their business! And I love love love it when people give them credit where credit is due! Kudos to both Hoovie and Scooby and his Maaco shop! The lambo looks great on video and I'm sure it looks amazing irl! This Lambo was a labor of love from everyone involved, The Car Wizard and Omega Auto, Scooby and his Maaco Shop, Hi Tech Exotic, and all the others who have contributed throughout the series with this Murcielago, just proof that even when a car normally would get totaled and sent for scrap, you can save it and bring it back to live another day! I wish more exotics that end up in the state the Merci was in got saved like this one did. It's a lot of money but damn I bet it's worth it!
After Covid is over, Hoovie you should totally do some kind of contest where lucky viewers get to spend the day with you and your cars and meet the people who appear in your channel, you've built a network of amazing people who show their ups and downs, from you, to Car Wizard, to WatchJRGo, The Ninja, and everyone else you regularly do content with.
