just a tip from a cul student, when blending a hot liquid like a soup, let it cool further, because if done wrong, the steam can build up and cause the blending apparatus of choice to explode.

Little islander tip: you can open a coconut with the back of a machete(or if you wanna be completely safe, the back of a butcher's knife)and split it open nice and clean. You can do this after you drain the coconut of its water.

Big fan of your vids! I use to be a pro cook. The biggest bit of advice is get your mise en place(it’s French for things in place) together. What I mean by that, is any thing that can be prepared in advance(chopping things, juicing things, weighing out ingredients etc) should be done in advance. It will make cooking multiple things at once way, way easier. Other then that good job! Feel free to ask anything about cooking and I’ll happily answer.
Edit: the onion ring batter. So I haven’t read this book but based on the ingredients it sounds similar to a tempura. One neat trick I learned for tempuras, is to foam up what ever carbonated liquid by adding salt and mixing, slowly incorporate the flour. I’d you’re using a wheat based flour as opposed to rice flour fold it in and be sure to not over mix of glutens will develop which will make it “chewy” as opposed to light fluffy and crisp.

I cannot TELL you how much I loved the transition from groceries to table! I really dislike the whole "getting groceries montage" thing that so many TH-camrs do. Very well done! I love this series so far

If any future recipes call for bay leaf, they are usually in one of two places, usually at a dedicated grocery store like Food City, Kroger, Winn Dixie, or an equivalent. They are usually in the fresh produce section, or the aisle that has assorted spices and seasonings. One other place could be the organic section

Not sure if this will be helpful, but one thing I learned from cooking a bunch of dishes at once is that preparation is key! Getting all your directions pre-read, with notes, then getting anything chopped/measured out and then you can focus on cooking and plating.
For thanksgiving, which also involves a LOT of cooking, I make a mini schedule of what to cook when and how and what can be cooked simultaneously.
Great job though! This was a lot of fun to watch!

I think you already learned but always read recepie at least once before starting, it can make all the difference, like with toasted coconut xD
